Putting Minnesota's judicial system on trial, does anyone serve time edition?

Image
Let's thank David Zimmer of the Center for the American Experiment for putting together this timeline article . The article highlights (lowlights?) how Minnesota's judicial system failed people and got people shot. It's indisputable that these judges failed in their responsibilities. They should be fired by the people the next time they're up for re-election. Period. Hard-stop. Frankly, these judges should be impeached. That isn't likely to happen, though, because a) these judges are probably trying to reimagine judging and b) Twin Cities voters are softies who don't care enough about crime. Let's get to the heart of the timeline, though. The timeline starts by saying "On January 17, 2022, the Minneapolis Police received information that Muhnee and the Ward brothers were in a vehicle and all three had firearms. The police located the vehicle in North Minneapolis and attempted to stop it. Muhnee was driving, but instead of stopping he fled the police a...

Elizabeth Warren vs. Hillary Vaughn, total mismatch edition

Image
When Fox Business Correspondent Hillary Vaughn caught up with Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren in the hallway, it figured to be a mismatch. Unfortunately for Sen. Warren, she chose to open her mouth and make a fool of herself . This reminds us of the old saying 'better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt. Vaughn asked Sen. Warren about Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter. Sen. Warren replied, "Elon Musk is doing just fine" before adding "One human being should not be able to go into a dark room by himself and decide 'Oh, that person gets heard from, that person doesn't.' That’s not how it should work." That's interesting considering Sen. Warren's silence in October, 2020 when Jack Dorsey unilaterally shut down the NYPost article about Hunter Biden's " Laptop from Hell ." Elon Musk isn't going into a dark room by himself (or with others) and deciding which person's account is s...

John Kirby's wimpish interview

Image
When it comes to being wimps on the international stage, the Biden administration's only competition is with the Obama administration. John Kirby has played a prominent role in both administrations' wimpy foreign policy. Adm. Kirby got more than a little testy when pushed on why the Biden administration hadn't spoken more forcefully about the Chinese people's uprising against the Chinese Communist Party. Adm. Kirby replied, saying "People should be allowed the right to assemble and to peacefully protest policies or laws or dictates that they take issue with." Later, Adm. Kirby said the administration wasn't taking a stand for or against the Chinese government. According to the article, "President Joe Biden met with Xi on the sidelines of the Group of 20 summit earlier this month, where they discussed 'COVID and the effect the pandemic had had around the world,' Kirby said. But he said he didn’t know if China’s 'COVID Zero' policies ha...

Joe Biden's losing fight, Barack Obama's lost fight

Image
Barack Obama wasn't just famous for passing Obamacare. The 44th president was also famous for saying "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor." Those sentences were judged by PolitiFact as the lie of the year. That happened when Democrats dominated Washington, DC. Obamacare is terrible legislation because it didn't seek bipartisan input. It's proof that efficient government is foolish government. This Nation's Founding Fathers were wise in designing our governments to be difficult to overwhelm. China is finding out the hard way that dictating is hard work. Glenn Reynolds highlights that fact in his latest column . Reynolds highlights the foolishness of autocratic government by highlighting Tom Friedman's wish, writing "New York Times columnist Tom Friedman famously wished we could be 'China for a Day' so we could implement 'the right solutions.'" People were designed by our ...

Joe Biden's place in history

Image
It's indisputable that Joe Biden is a profile in wimpiness. It's indisputable that he isn't worthy of fitting into JFK's " Profiles in Courage ." We have multiple examples of why Joe Biden is a political hack. In the early days of his vice-presidency, the Iranian people erupted in protests. It was titled the Green Revolution, Following President Obama's lead, VP Biden stayed silent on the Green Revolution. That's the first receipt proving Biden's profile in wimpiness. Another receipt proving Biden's wimpiness is his almost nonexistent response to the Iranian people's latest uprising. Yet another Biden profile in wimpiness is Biden's kicking the can on the potential railroad strike into Congress's lap. Now, Biden's saying  he' confident that the rail strike will be avoided. The NYPost Editorial Board said that the Biden administration offered "mere mush" in terms of pushback against China's threats against the ...

TIPP Poll results: Drill, Baby, Drill

Image
When you look at some polls, you just know that they're worthless. Others, like this I&I-TIPP poll , seem bulletproof. The chief conclusion in the TIPP Poll is that "Americans overwhelmingly answer yes, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. The poll "asked 1,359 adults the following question: 'What should government do to alleviate the diesel shortage?' The online I&I/TIPP Poll, taken from Nov. 2-4, has a margin of error of +/-2.8 percentage points." According to the article: Respondents were given, in order, the following possible responses. Responses 1 to 4 were randomized to avoid any order bias: "Encourage more drilling and refining of oil." "Keep imposing strict limits on carbon-based fuels to reduce climate change." "Return to the rules and standards for energy production that prevailed in 2020." "Tax oil companies if they don’t produce more oil." "Do nothing." "Not sure." Here are the r...

Joe Biden's favorite dictators

Image
Though he didn't talk about this during the 2020 presidential campaign, it's obvious that Joe Biden loves dictators, especially if they have oil for sale. It's indisputable that Biden has 'encouraged' oil companies to cut oil and natural gas production through stifling regulations. It's indisputable that Biden has contacted dictators in Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Iran in the hopes of increasing oil production on a short-term basis. Yesterday, Peter Doocy queried John Kirby during Monday's WH press briefing. Doocy asked "Why is it President Biden would rather let U.S. companies drill for oil in Venezuela than here in the U.S.?" Rather than giving Doocy a straightforward reply, Kirby replied "That's not an accurate take." That started a spirited back-and-forth, with Doocy saying "Earlier this month, he said no more drilling!" Kirby fired back with the administration's go-to line of BS, saying "The president has issu...

Ron DeSantis vs. Juan Williams, culture wars battle edition

Image
Juan Williams is on a roll lately. This time, he thinks that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is dangerous . Williams thinks Gov. DeSantis is dangerous because, in Williams' words, Gov. DeSantis loves "waging hard-right culture wars, to the point of taking on Disney on gay rights." Of course, Williams doesn't know what he's talking about. Gov. DeSantis didn't pick a fight with Disney over gay rights. Gov. DeSantis simply signed a bill that stopped schools from teaching kindergarten through third grade students about topics like gender identity and gender fluidity. Gov. DeSantis simply wants parents to teach that type of thing to their children. In fact, Gov. DeSantis thinks that parents should have the controlling say in what their children are taught. To Democrats, that thought is the stuff of nightmares. Democrats think that public teacher unions should have free reign in indoctrinating children. Williams is frightened of Gov. DeSantis because Republicans often cal...

Circular firing squad, House GOP edition

Image
It's time for the spoiled brats in the House GOP Conference to grow up. Led by Andy Biggs and Matt Gaetz, these so-called principled conservatives should be considered prima donnas who threaten blowing up the House GOP conference after losing the primary by a score of 188-31. The Prima Donna wing of the House GOP got 14% of the vote. The Commitment to America is filled with things that they support. Despite that, these prima donnas aren't satisfied. Shame on these spoiled brats. Perhaps it's time to primary these spoiled brats. They might still win but at least they'll get the message that they're supposed to be part of a team in addition to representing their districts. If Biggs, Gaetz and others from the Prima Donna Wing of the House GOP vote present, then that gives Speaker-in-Waiting McCarthy a little more margin for error. At that point, McCarthy would only need 213 votes to gain the Speaker's Gavel. Rep. Bob Good, (R-VA), recently said "Kevin McCarth...

Hillary Clinton's censorship cartel

Image
There was a time when Democrats were considered zealous free speech advocates. Those days are gone, thanks in part to the dumbing down of Democrats' debating skills. The last great Democrat debaters were Bill Clinton and Daniel Patrick Moynihan. It's therefore ironic that one of the fiercest pro-censorship advocates is Hillary Clinton. It's ironic because she's married to Bill Clinton. It's ironic from the standpoint that HRC replaced Daniel Patrick Moynihan in the Senate. Prof. Jonathan Turley highlights HRC is involved in this censorship movement in this post . Prof. Turley wrote "Now, reports indicate that Clinton has unleashed her allies in the corporate world to coerce Musk to restore censorship policies or face bankruptcy. The effort of the Clinton-linked “Accountable Tech” reveals the level of panic in Democratic circles that free speech could be restored on one social media platform. The group was open about how losing control over Twitter could result ...

Joe Biden & Karine Jean-Pierre, which one's lying edition

Image
Bonchie is one of my favorite reads over at RedState.com. His post about a potential railroad strike got me thinking. What got me thinking was when Bonchie wrote "When pressed on whether President Joe Biden was 'directly' involved in negotiations between the unions and the rail companies, his press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, insisted over and over that he was. But as a new video put together by the RNC shows, that’s simply untrue. How do we know? Because Biden himself told us." That got me thinking because Biden is a well-known liar. I'll stipulate that he isn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier. I'll insist, though, that a man who told Fox News's Peter Doocy that he'd never talked about Hunter's business dealings is capable of lying about whether he's directly involved in this potential railroad strike, especially since he's preparing to run for the Democrats' presidential nomination in 2024. Admittedly, none of the people ...

Juan Williams' constitutional indifference

Image
The All-Star Panel for Friday's Special Report highlighted the Democrats' constitutional stupidity . To open that part of the segment, Gillian Turner played the clip of Joe Biden claiming that there is "no socially redeeming value" for owning a semi-automatic firearm. Juan Williams then highlighted his lack of understanding of the Constitution. Williams said "I mean, the argument is the Second Amendment. You know, do you think that the founders really had in mind people having weapons that are best intended for a battlefield, you know, in the hands of private people? I mean, that’s the argument. The American people agree with President Biden on this one." It's breathtakingly stupid to ask whether the founders wanted "people having weapons that are best intended for a battlefield." The Founding Fathers intended for a "well-armed militia" to prevent tyrannical governments from usurping individuals' rights. They'd just finished f...

What's at stake in Georgia's runoff

Image
Democracy itself is at stake with the Georgia runoffs. I wouldn't have said this earlier this week. Then again, earlier this week, Joe Biden hadn't said "The idea we still allow semi-automatic weapons to be purchased is sick. Just sick. It has no socially redeeming value. Zero. None. Not a single solitary rationale for it except profit for the gun manufacturers." That's a breathtakingly arrogant statement of gigantic proportions. According to the article, "Missouri’s 4th congressional district U.S. Representative-elect Mark Alford called Biden’s stance on gun laws 'sheer ignorance,' and cited an article noting that semi-automatic weapons make up 50% of all gun sales in America." I'd characterize his statements as sheer arrogance. He thinks that the Constitution isn't still intact and that the Supreme Court's rulings don't have meaning. Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie's tweet expresses things perfectly: Americans rejected Pelosi’s...

Adults now talking about Joe Biden's energy policies

Image
It's long past time for the adults in the energy industry to start talking about Joe Biden's incoherent energy policies. The latest to speak out is Neil Chatterjee, the chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, aka FERC, during the Trump administration. Chatterjee spoke about energy issues in this interview with Newsmax . In the interview, Chatterjee said "We've got a couple of situations that are coming together right now to create a problematic situation. You've got tight supplies. You've got increased natural gas prices. We're dealing with the effects of the war on Ukraine, but we also are constraining our own energy supplies here at home. " Why we're restricting our production of oil and natural gas is inexplicable and indefensible. The jobs are high paying union jobs. Production of oil and natural gas is anti-inflationary, too. Finally, the price drops help families' paychecks stretch much farther. The article continues, sayin...

Happy late-in-the-day Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I just finished my mid-afternoon Thanksgiving feast with my fantastic new roommates. Valee and Deanna did the cooking and the decorating. Saying that everything was picture-perfect is understatement. This year, I'm super-thankful for both Valee and Dee. They're fantastic ladies. Most importantly, they've turned this house (which I've lived in since Christmas of 1962) into a home. Val did most of the cooking, with Dee making the pumpkin pie and the green bean casserole. Dee started putting up the Christmas decorations, too. Like I said, everything looks picture-perfect. Though we've been through quite a lot the last 2-3 years, it's always possible to find lots of things to be thankful for. Ronald Reagan once told Johnny Carson that if Americans counted up our troubles, then multiplied them by 3, we'd still be far better off than any other country in the world. I totally agree. Let's thank the Lord for how He's blessed ...

The lies that Democrats, KJP, tell

Image
It's long past time that the Biden administration hired an honest press secretary. Thus far, they're 0-for-2. It's difficult to determine whether Jen Psaki is a bigger liar than KJP or if KJP is a bigger liar than Ms. Psaki. Yesterday, KJP angrily and dishonestly responded to Kevin McCarthy's ultimatum that DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas should resign. KJP said "McCarthy has no plan. The Republican Party has no plan. They do nothing except political stunts." That's a bald-faced lie. For months, Republicans have called for finishing Trump's wall, re-instating Trump's MPP policy and hiring more border patrol, ICE and CBP agents. Open border Democrats like Joe Biden, KJP and Chuck Schumer don't like those policies but it's a real policy that was working until Biden dismantled the policy out of spite. The American people shouldn't trust Mayorkas' statements. As is proven in the previous paragraphs, he's a proven liar. Further, De...

The (DHS) Empire strikes back

Image
Kevin McCarthy's ultimatum to disgraced DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas apparently isn't sitting well with him. Today, the DHS Empire hit back , saying "Secretary Mayorkas is proud to advance the noble mission of this Department, support its extraordinary workforce, and serve the American people. The Department will continue our work to enforce our laws and secure our border, while building a safe, orderly, and humane immigration system." That's a joke. The next time the Mayorkas/Biden DHS consistently enforces our nation's border security laws will be the first time they consistently do that. With fentanyl poisoning deaths surpassing 300 a day and women and little girls getting raped daily, there's little  that's humane about the Biden/Mayorkas/Democrat immigration system. Further, Mayorkas has done nothing to secure the border. Last month, 230,678 illegal aliens crossed the border. That's the most in U.S. history. That's the opposite of s...

Kevin McCarthy to Alejandro Mayorkas: Quit or be impeached

Image
Late this afternoon, GOP Speaker-in-Waiting Kevin McCarthy succinctly stated  that DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was derelict in his duties of enforcing this nation's immigration laws. McCarthy is quoted as saying "We will use the power of the purse and the power of subpoena. Let me be clear, those responsible for this disaster will be held accountable. If Secretary Mayorkas does not resign, House Republicans will investigate every order, every action and every failure to determine whether we can begin impeachment inquiries." Predictably, Democrats characterized the GOP's visit as a PR stunt. White House Press Secretary Karinne Jean-Pierre said "What is his plan? What is he doing to help the situation that we're seeing? He goes down there and he does a political stunt, like many Republicans do, that we have seen them do, [and] not put forth a plan." KJP knows the House GOP plan. She just doesn't like it. The House (and Senate GOP) plans are to fi...

Power the Future's energy plan

Image
Joe Biden's lack of a coherent energy strategy is as responsible for high inflation, aka Bidenflation, as the Fed's policies. It's why families have felt the strain of deciding between heating their homes and eating. What's needed is a blueprint to return to energy independence. Thankfully, Power the Future put together that blueprint  and is making it available to anyone that wants to return to cheap prices at the gas pump and lower-priced home heating bills. According to this article , Power the Future, "which represents the interests of energy industry workers nationwide, outlined 10 policy priorities for Republicans to pursue and areas where GOP leadership could conduct oversight and investigations into Biden administration policymaking. Power the Future argued a comprehensive energy agenda was vital to push back on President Biden's climate policies which have hampered fossil fuel development." When I wrote " My letter to Kevin McCarthy ", I...

Andy Biggs, Matt Gaetz & Matt Rosendale vs. sanity, Kevin McCarthy

Image
Andy Biggs, Matt Gaetz and Matt Rosendale have announced that they'll never vote for Kevin McCarthy to be the next Speaker of the House of Representatives. In making that announcement, they've shown themselves to immature, selfish children incapable of governing. They've also identified themselves as not being team players. While they were busy getting re-elected, Kevin McCarthy reportedly raised $480,000,000 for other candidates, stumped for candidates nationwide, especially down the stretch, and put together a governing agenda know as Our Commitment to America . These are the actions of people who look for the tiniest imperfections in leaders who don't meet their high standards while they're sitting in their hammocks in the shade. These are grandstanders, not leaders. Biggs, Gaetz and Rosendale lost, then decided that they didn't like the outcome so they started complaining rather than uniting behind the winner. The Consequences of Immaturity Potentially, th...

Elon Musk's Twitter reinstatements

Image
Elon Musk's restoration of Donald Trump's Twitter account is getting tons of attention this weekend. I wish the media cared about Twitter's previous activities that weren't as high in profile. The first question I'd ask Twitter's previous regime is why Twitter banned the Babylon Bee . The next question I'd ask is why Twitter banned Kayleigh McEnany . I know the reasons why Twitter banned them, at least their public statements on these bannings. I'd just like the opportunity to ask them questions and get Twitter's former regime on the record. In the Babylon Bee's banning, Twitter's former regime explained "Twitter locked the account of a right-leaning parody site, The Babylon Bee, after it awarded Rachel Levine, the transgender Biden administration official, the title of 'man of the year.'" The Babylon Bee was given the opportunity to be restored if they repented and deleted that tweet. Babylon Bee's CEO Seth Dillon said ...

My letter to Joe Biden, energy edition

Image
Each month, Joe Biden makes a speech about how good the economy is. This speech always happens on what I call jobs report Friday. In his monthly speech, Biden reminds people of how many jobs he's created. What Biden isn't admitting is that people's lives have gone downhill thanks to Bidenflation. What's needed is a dose of terrible reality, which this article provides. The article opens by saying "As the first frigid weather of autumn chills the Northeast, many people are faced with a tough decision: deal with the surging costs of heating their homes or live without it. Home heating prices are skyrocketing yet again this winter, up 18% nationwide on top of last year’s 17% spike, according to the National Energy Assistance Directors Association (NEADA). Charmaine Johnson works in the call center at Philadelphia’s Heater Hotline, part of a non-profit that assists low-income families with their heating systems and bills. Johnson, 63, can relate to the concerns she’s ...

My letter to Kevin McCarthy

Image
Speaker-Elect McCarthy, it's important, essential even, to make a great first impression with the American people. When the people spoke with their votes, they sent the message that they're hurting because Joe Biden ruined a growing economy with virtually no inflation. Today, we're saddled with a stumbling economy and high inflation. While it's important that you investigate the Biden crime cartel and the politicization of the DOJ and FBI, it's most important to fix Biden's (and the Democrats') economic mess. The best way to do that, after you vote to defund the 87,000 IRS auditors, is to push Democrats into fixing Biden's (and the Democrats') energy policy. That should be H.R.2. After that, you should highlight fixing Biden's (and the Democrats') broken supply chain. That should be H.R.3. I'd give both bills names that told the nation what you're attempting to fix. I'd title H.R.2 the "Let's make energy cheap again Act. ...

The absurdity of Merrick Garland's special counsel

Image
Not that long ago, when the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago was fresh in our minds, Jonathan Turley, who isn't a Trump fan, appeared on Fox & Friends to talk about the raid . The heart of that interview was when Prof. Turley said "This is an act that is not heavily enforced, certainly not historically been criminally enforced. Some of the most egregious cases were handled rather lightly. Sandy Berger being an example. He actually stuffed documents in his socks and snuck them out of a secure location leaving them at a spot to be retrieved later. He received no jail time and just pled guilty to a misdemeanor. He wasn’t even forced to lose his security clearance permanently. It was just a three-year suspension. So this is an act that is not known for robust criminal enforcement. That does raise questions as to the all-hands-on-deck raid that occurred." This is consistent with Prof. Turley's op-ed for The Hill. In that op-ed, Prof. Turley wrote "Records violations involv...

Merrick Garland's DOJ politicization

Image
Any thought that Merrick Garland was a moderate disappeared this afternoon when he named a special counsel to investigate President Trump . AG Garland's explanation for naming the special counsel is a word salad that would make VP Harris or KJP proud. Part of Garland's statement says "Based on recent developments, including the former president’s announcement that he is a candidate for president in the next election, and the sitting president’s stated intention to be a candidate as well, I have concluded that it is in the public interest to appoint a special counsel." That's one of the most impressive collections of weasel words I've ever seen! That takes quite a bit of doing. I've been reading spin since the Clinton era of the 1990s. This has been expected since the raid on Mar-a-Lago. The notion that this 'investigation' is impartial is a joke. When, not if, Special Counsel Jack Smith obtains an indictment from a super-friendly DC grand jury, Tru...

Will this be a one-and-done GOP majority?

Image
I'll admit that, when I watched a snippet of James Comer's presser about the Hunter Biden investigation, I worried that this might be a one-and-done GOP majority. That's certainly the opinion of this column . Then again, it's published by the Seattle Times, one of the most leftist papers in the U.S. But I digress. After the stock market closed, Larry Kudlow interviewed Kevin McCarthy as his first guest of the show. It didn't take long for Kudlow and McCarthy to start talking about prosperity through opening the spigot on energy, through reducing crime, which Kudlow characterized as "a prosperity killer." That's painfully obvious when you see major corporations hightailing it out of Chicago, New York and Seattle for Miami-Dade County. It's apparent that Speaker McCarthy will focus on reducing inflation while growing the U.S. economy. What few liberals know is that McCarthy comes from a small business background. While I don't doubt that there wi...

Early voting disgraces in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado & Nevada

Image
As I write this (at 4:30 am CT on 11/17/22), 5 states still haven't certified their elections. In fact, Alaska won't finish their election until the day before Thanksgiving. In Alaska, their disgrace is ranked-choice voting. In the other states, mail-in ballots are accepted up to a week after Election Day as long as it's postmarked by Election Day. It's time to fix this national disgrace. While I'm a steadfast believer in federalism's laboratories of democracy, I'm also a firm believer in believer in best practices. It's time to limit early voting to in-person voting with a few limited exceptions for mail-in balloting. It's also time to require photo IDs for voting. Without Photo ID, we're stuck using the honor system. More on that later, though. It's time to change laws that permit ballots to arrive a week after the election. That's the definition of absurdity. If you want results that are accepted, it's essential that votes don...

Alejandro Mayorkas' double-talk is exposed during hearing ... again

Image
DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is a world-class propagandist. That's perfectly clear after his testimony to the House Homeland Security Committee. Secretary Mayorkas' double-speak skills were on full display when he answered Rep. Dan Bishop's question. Rep. Bishop asked Secretary Mayorkas if the border was closed. Secretary Mayorkas replied "Yes, and we are working day in and day out to enhance its security, congressman. What I would say is that we see significant criminal threats coming from south of the border, whether it’s guns, drugs, money, violence, we see transnational criminal organizations that send their drugs and street gangs here to distribute it. And that contributes to violent crime here." If the border is secure, how can you "see significant criminal threats coming from south of the border?" That's like saying that the fire is extinguished but more firefighters are needed to stop the fire. The hottest moment was likely when Rep. May...

Mitch McConnell, Rick Scott & Donald Trump, big failures edition

Image
Anyone looking for villains to blame for Republicans not retaking the Senate majority have their pick of lots of villains. Let's start with the 3 biggest culprits, though. That list starts with Donald Trump but also includes his friend (just kidding) Mitch McConnell and NRSC Chair Rick Scott. Ben Domenech didn't pull his punches in his article critiquing Senate Republicans' failures. In the article, he wrote "In the wake of a number of fractious primaries, GOP Senate candidates essentially went dark in the summer, their ad budgets expended and without the resources to get back on the air. Meanwhile, Chuck Schumer and the DSCC defined the Republican outsiders for a new audience of general election voters. Scott’s NRSC spent money early to push back, while McConnell sat on his resources and waited. McConnell’s Senate Leadership Fund adopts a strategy that hasn’t worked for a decade of not spending until later. If Democrats convince over half the voters, in June and July...

Elizabeth Warren's rose-colored glasses

Image
Let's start by admitting that Elizabeth Warren isn't the brightest economic mind in the Senate. Melissa Francis once said that, when she worked at CNBC, she was assigned to cover Elizabeth Warren. Francis said that Sen. Warren had "predicted 20 of the last 3 recessions." Naturally, she's trying to give Democrats credit for the fantastic things they did without admitting that Democrats caused the sky-high inflation by ignoring sound economic principles. Sen. Warren said "Voters rewarded Democrats for protecting the lives and livelihoods of struggling families in a pandemic; modernizing infrastructure, not just talking about it; allowing Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices; capping insulin costs for older Americans; making tax-dodging corporations pay up on billions in profit; lowering carbon emissions and reducing utility bills; and canceling student debt for over 40 million Americans." First, while Medicare is negotiating some drug prices, it now is...

Arizona, Nevada disgraced the nation

Image
While there is a diplomatic way of putting this, I won't use that diplomatic approach to this important issue. Arizona and Nevada have disgraced the nation with their election procedures. It's one thing to have early voting. It's another to screw up the procedures so badly that you're still processing ballots 4 days after Election Day. Arizona and Nevada have a total population of 10,520,000 people. By comparison, Florida's population is 22,000,000. It took Florida until midnight of Election Night to process all of their ballots, including their mail-in and early ballots. We'll have to suffer through at least 2-3 more days to find out Arizona's election results. What's worst is that Nevada's election system isn't secure . Victor Joecks, a reporter for the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports "For the past two elections, Nevada sent mail ballots to all registered voters, unless they opted out. That means around 1.8 million ballots went out. Well ...

My appeal to undecided voters

Image
If you're still undecided as to who you're voting for Tuesday, let me offer you some insight. Joe Biden likes saying that he inherited a mess. Simply put, that's BS and he knows it. When he took over, the border was secure, inflation was literally 1.4%, a gallon of gas (nationwide average) was $2.39 and the economy was growing at a 6.5% clip. Further, Biden said that there wasn't a plan deal with the pandemic. That's BS, too. 1,000,000 people were vaccinated the day he was inaugurated. Prior to his inauguration, Biden's stated goal was to vaccinate 100,000,000 people in his first 100 days in office. How do you vaccinate 1,000,000 people per day if there isn't a plan? It's time to ask yourself if you're safer today than you were when Biden took office. Watching video of the various carjackings and other violent crimes just in the last month makes it difficult to say that you're safer today than you were on Jan. 19, 2021. If you aren't safe, it...
