Joe Biden's favorite dictators

Though he didn't talk about this during the 2020 presidential campaign, it's obvious that Joe Biden loves dictators, especially if they have oil for sale. It's indisputable that Biden has 'encouraged' oil companies to cut oil and natural gas production through stifling regulations. It's indisputable that Biden has contacted dictators in Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Iran in the hopes of increasing oil production on a short-term basis.

Yesterday, Peter Doocy queried John Kirby during Monday's WH press briefing. Doocy asked "Why is it President Biden would rather let U.S. companies drill for oil in Venezuela than here in the U.S.?" Rather than giving Doocy a straightforward reply, Kirby replied "That's not an accurate take." That started a spirited back-and-forth, with Doocy saying "Earlier this month, he said no more drilling!" Kirby fired back with the administration's go-to line of BS, saying "The president has issued 9,000 permits for drilling on U.S. federal lands, 9,000 being unused. There are plenty of opportunities for oil and gas companies to drill here in the United States."

This morning, I spoke with an energy industry expert about the 9,000 leases line. This expert replied that this number is misleading, saying that that's just the first step in the process. After that, this expert said, you have to get local permits for drilling, local permits for rights-of-way, federal and local permits for pipelining. That's before raising capital to turn this project into reality.

According to this expert, the Biden administration has created new regulations that make it difficult to raise money or to meet environmental regulations. This blog then asked if it's accurate to say that Biden is being disingenuous when Biden says that he's doing everything he can to bring oil prices down. This reporter was told that's an accurate statement.

The question is why Biden is working hard to make Russian, Saudi or Venezuelan oil available but isn't doing everything he can to open U.S. fossil fuel spigots. Does Biden not care about high-paying union jobs? I only know what I can prove. Right now, I can't prove beyond a reasonable doubt whether Biden likes the fossil fuel industry. Peter Doocy has quoted Biden as saying "no more drilling."

It's time for Republicans to insist that this administration overhaul their energy policies. This administration's' Green New Deal policies are a failure. What's required is an all-of-the-above energy policy. The last time we had sky-high gas prices, in 2008, House Republicans pushed for an all-of-the-above policy. Remember this golden oldie?

Obama said that we have to develop an all-of-the-above strategy, then said we have to stop our reliance on fossil fuels. I'd ask him 'which is it?' He said that you can't drill your way to cheaper gas prices. President Trump proved that Obama didn't know what he was talking about.

Here's the Doocy-Kirby back-and-forth:
