When will Chuck Schumer cave to reasonability?

Image
At some point, Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats will be forced to admit that they've been keeping government shut just to please their hard-left base. House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, my congressman, is fighting the good fight. According to this article , "We have roughly 400,000 SNAP [Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program] recipients in Minnesota. These are people that are most in need. What happens when they don’t have benefits? We can’t have this tragic result happen. First 26, 27 days [of the shutdown], Democrats have been able to get away with this nonsense, because most people in this country haven’t noticed, because they haven’t been impacted. That’s changing this week." This morning, DFL politicians and operatives have essentially carpet-bombed Minnesotans with shut down misinformation. Richard Carlbom, the chairman of the DFL posted this on Twitter: Maybe get your ass back to work. Your month long taxpayer PAID vacation must end. You are forcing 62,000 Minnes...

Will Jack Ciattarelli win in New Jersey?

Image
In recent casual political conversations, I used to ask whether Jack Ciattarelli could win. With 5 days until Election Day in New Jersey, I'm now asking whether he will win. Personally, I think Ciattarelli will win. Thursday night, Ciattarelli was a guest on Sean Hannity's program . According to the article, "Despite having unsuccessfully run for New Jersey governor two times already, Ciattarelli told Hannity the early voting results have him in a 'really good position to win.'" Before the town hall part got started, Hannity interviewed Robert Kahaly, chief pollster of Trafalgar Group, and Matt Towery, chief pollster of Insider Advantage. Their polls both showed Ciatterelli trailing his opponent by a point. Emerson also has Ciattarelli 1 point behind. The crowd attending the town hall was definitely energized. Based on early in-person voting and the lack of enthusiasm at Ciattarelli's opponent's rallies, it looks like Ciattarelli's opponent is fi...

When Hell froze over: Washington Post criticizes Democrats

Image
It must be time to watch for Satan handing out skates. Hell must've frozen over. In Wednesday's edition, the Washington Post criticized Democrats for holding government hostage . According to the article, "The Washington Post editorial board criticized Senate Democrats on Wednesday for holding the government "hostage" for a month in hopes of extending costly Obamacare subsidies and urged them to reopen the government by voting for a clean funding bill." That's been the right thing to do for almost a month. It never should've come to a shutdown, much less the second-longest shutdown in US history.  Democrats never had a chance of extending the Obamacare subsidies. Theoretically, Democrats were fighting to extend Obamacare subsidies. That wasn't going to happen, especially with all of the subsidies' complexities. Reopening the government, or better yet, not shutting it down in the first place, would've prevented the building of the ill will...

Another new low for Tim Walz

Image
Just when you thought Tim Walz couldn't sink lower as Minnesota's governor, he does something like this . According to Alpha News's reporting, "A pair of Minnesota state colleges have stocked their men’s rooms with menstrual products. Shockingly, those products are required by law to be placed in state college men’s rooms. Two years ago, the Minnesota Legislature passed a law that requires the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system to 'provide students with access to menstrual products at no charge. The products must be available in restrooms used by students.'" Again, according to the article, "Additionally, GOP state Senate candidate Michael Holmstrom posted a photo of a menstrual products dispenser purportedly in a men’s room at St. Cloud State University. The photo of the dispenser was taken by GOP gubernatorial candidate Jeff Johnson." In the interest of full disclosure, I am Jeff Johnson's campaign manager so I'm not a dis...

Is Tim Walz 7 years late & $750,000,000 short?

Image
This afternoon, Alpha News reported that Timely Tim Walz finally announced "that he has ordered a 'third-party audit of billing for 14 high-risk Medicaid services' amid widespread fraud in state government." First, this audit is long overdue. Next, Minnesota's taxpayers lost almost $750,000,000 through Medicaid fraud. I wrote here about former Legislative Auditor James Nobles' scathing op-ed. In that op-ed, Nobles wrote that "the theft of millions of tax dollars from Minnesota programs resulted not just from the actions of thieves but also from the failure of state executive officials to implement basic financial safeguards recommended in numerous audit reports for several years." In the Alpha article, "The governor’s office said the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) has contracted with Optum, which will analyze Medicaid fee-for-service claims data and flag potential issues for DHS review. Optum’s analytics will identify irregularit...

The Democrats' ultimate humiliation?

Image
Julian Epstein wrote this op-ed and Democrats should be humiliated. Whether they'll get humiliated or change direction is anyone's guess. I'm predicting Democrats will get humiliated but that they won't change directions. It isn't in the Democrats' nature. Epstein's op-ed opens by saying "The party of big government lost the presidency and both houses of Congress, then demanded a federal shutdown to impose its welfare-state agenda on the nation -- and no one seemed to notice." It continued, saying "Imagine if you threw a party and no one came. Pretty humiliating, right?" I don't know if Democrats are capable of changing direction or getting humiliated. Past generations of Democrats might've been capable of humiliation. I don't think this generation of Democrats is. It's really painful for Democrats when Epstein wrote "the Obamacare premium subsidies which you have made the central issue in your shutdown stand aren’t ...

WHAM = Activists' Hockey League?

Image
The Women's Hockey Association of Minnesota, aka WHAM, just lost a legendary player due to its firm refusal to pay attention to a petition and player complaints. Alpha News reported that "Another player for the Women’s Hockey Association of Minnesota (WHAM) publicly calls it quits in heartbreaking goodbye letter to hockey. Despite a petition and player complaints, WHAM has refused to change its trans policy allowing men to participate." In their reporting, Alpha News also reported "Rachel Stoneberg, 42, a former University of St. Thomas player and 20-year staple in the Women’s Hockey Association of Minnesota (WHAM), shared her “Dear Hockey: Goodbye” letter to social media. In her letter, sent to WHAM on Oct. 10, Stoneberg laments the end of her three-decade long relationship with the sport over the league’s decision to allow biological males to compete on women’s teams." This is still another encroachment into women’s sports by men. Further, it’s proof that th...

Meet NYC's weirdoes

Image
If you think that AOC, Zohran Mamdani and Bernie Sanders were normal politicians with normal policies, get to a psychiatrist ASAP! They're anything but normal. They're the opposite of normal. At Zohran Mamdani's rally Sunday night, AOC said "We must remember in a time such as this, we are not the crazy ones. New York City, we are not the outlandish ones. New York City, they want us to think we are crazy. We are sane." Unfortunately for us, AOC wasn't finished. As National Review said, AOC couldn't help herself, saying "To demand an affordable and decent housing, a decent wage, the right to health care that we pay to care for our people instead of the flattening of Palestinians and oppressed people abroad is not a radical act. It is basic and core humanity. That is why the election of Zohran is as important as our cause today. Child care, buses, rent, and our rights!" It's time we spoke the truth about AOC, Sanders and Mamdani. It's time ...

Omar Fateh wants police to break the law

Image
Nobody accused Omar Fateh of being a genius. If they did, they were wrong. Badly wrong. If anyone said that Fateh was a conastitutional scholar, I'd demand proof becauuae I haven't seen proof of it. I say this because this Alpha News article either proves that Fateh doesn't know the U.S. Constitution or he doesn't care about the principles this great nation is built on. According to the article, "State Sen. Omar Fateh, one of the leading candidates in the Minneapolis mayoral election, is backing calls for local police to “immediately arrest” law enforcement officers who wear masks." That's illegal because it violates the Constitution's Separation of Powers Clause. States and municipalities don't have jurisdiction over federal officials. According to the article, "Fateh recently appeared at a press conference hosted by the Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee (MIRAC), which has published a list of demands for 'strengthening' th...

Former Legislative Auditor James Nobles criticizes DFL officials for lack of oversight

Image
Retired Legislative Auditor James Nobles, one of the most honorable people to serve in government, wrote an op-ed in this week's Star Tribune. In the op-ed, Nobles wrote "The late House Speaker Melissa Hortman privately told Minnesota’s longtime legislative auditor that some Democrats believed his office was being too hard on certain state programs, especially those run by Somali community organizations." According to this Alpha News article , "In Nobles’ op-ed, he calls out what he described as a stunning lack of financial safeguards that has let millions in taxpayer dollars slip away, cheating both taxpayers and the vulnerable families those programs were designed to serve." Anyone that knows Nobles' personality knows that this is as close to a vesuvial moment as you'll see from him. You won't see Mr. Nobles get much more irritated than this. Nobles' op-ed continues, saying "the theft of millions of tax dollars from Minnesota programs res...

Democrats' dishonest statements on Mamdani

Image
Apparently, NY Democrats will say anything to push Zohran Mamdani across the finish line. This article offers proof positive of that statement. The article opens by saying "A common rejoinder to Zohran Mamdani’s campaign promise to fund social programs with higher taxes was that the rich would leave New York if taxed too highly. In Vanity Fair, writer James Pogue asks skeptically if Mamdani voters, blinded by rage against the wealthy, are so disgruntled that they are 'no longer interested in hearing dire predictions of what might happen if his tax increases drive wealthy residents to Florida.' The New York Post claims that the rich are already leaving; investor Bill Ackman said in an interview this summer, 'If Mamdani becomes the mayor of New York, you’re going to see the flight of businesses from New York.'" It should be remembered that The Tax Foundation reported "In 2008, Maryland added four new income tax brackets, including a top rate of 6.25% on i...

Democrats prove again that they hate the military, American people

If anyone needed proof that Democrats hate the military, this article is that proof . According to this article, "Senate Democrats blocked a Republican-sponsored bill Thursday to pay active-duty members of the military and other essential federal employees who have been required to work during the government shutdown. Democrats blocked the Shutdown Fairness Act of 2025, sponsored by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), in a mostly party-line 54-45 vote. It needed 60 votes to advance." Further, the article says "Sens. Jon Ossoff (D-GA), Raphael Warnock (D-GA) and John Fetterman (D-PA) crossed party lines to vote in favor of the measure. Fetterman, along with Sens. Catherine Cortez-Masto (D-NV) and Angus King (I-Maine), has also been voting with Republicans to reopen the government. The two Georgia Democrats have been voting against that stopgap funding bill." It's fair to call Sen. Fetterman a moderate-to-conservative, pro-American Democrat. I might call Sen. King a modera...

New Jersey voter registration final pre-election update

Image
While it'd be a bit overstated to say that New Jersey Democrats are in trouble because of the final voter registration figures, it isn't overstated to say that Democrats shouldn't worry about this year's election. This morning, the New York Post reported "The number of registered Republicans in New Jersey grew by nearly 31,000 this year — while the number of registered Democrats dropped by more than 11,000, new data show. Democrats still hold the overall edge in the Garden State, with a total of 2.5 million registered voters compared to about 1.6 million registered Republicans and 2.3 million unaffiliated voters." Numerically speaking, that's still a significant lead for Democrats. The things that Democrats should worry about are the trend and the fact that Scott Presler is spearheading the NJ voter registration drive. These aren't things that are strengthening the NJ Democrat Party. The fact that NJ Democrat registration dropped by 11,000 signifies a...

Title IX v. MHRA (Minnesota Human Rights Act)

Image
Apparently, the DFL operatives posing as Minnesota Supreme Court justices don't respect the constitutional principle known as the Supremacy Clause . The text of the Supremacy Clause says "This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land ; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding." Yesterday, KSTP reported "The Minnesota Supreme Court has ruled that an adult transgender athlete was discriminated against when she was banned from participating in a women’s powerlifting competition but opened the door to additional legal challenges. Minnesota’s high court issued its opinion Wednesday morning. In doing so, the court affirmed that the state’s Human Rights Act (MHRA) protects transgender people from discrimin...

Open letter to Keith Ellison

Image
Last week, I wrote this article about Keith Ellison disrespecting the military. He disrespected the military by showing disinterest in the arrival of an Honor Flight at Reagan National Airport on Sept. 26. Almost a month after the incident and almost a week after the incident was report, AG Ellison responded to the article. Ellison's response was classic Ellison. Ellison said "Let me just say, the idea that I don’t support veterans is ridiculous. It’s untrue. It’s a lie. Now look, that day, there were 10 or 11 different veterans that came off. I clapped for like all of them. Then I got a call from my office and I answered the phone. And so I might not have been able to see that one that they caught me where I was attending to work-related business." In this video, there wasn't footage of Ellison getting a "call from my office." In this video, what happened is pretty straightforward: Ellison said "I clapped for like all of them." What do your eyes ...

Where were John Catsimatidis and Bill Ackman when New York City needed them?

Image
Now that John Catsimatidis has called for Curtis Sliwa to drop out of the NYC mayoral race, the question now is simple. Where were they when this race was just getting started? Where was Catsimatidis when candidates were getting recruited? Where was Ackman when top-tier candidates were guests of honor at the biggest fundraisers? You'd think that people with this much exposure to high-level politicking like Catsimatidis and Ackman have that they'd know that campaign machines are built a year before the election. Campaign machines can't be built a month before Election Day, mostly because that's when early voting starts. You can't even start a month before early voting starts. Starting a year before helps campaigns register new voters, fundraise, put key people in positions of importance and give them time to get polished. Now Catsimatidis wants Sliwa to drop out after Sliwa handily won the first debate. It’s worth noting that Andrew Cuomo looked like ‘Low Energy Jeb...

The Democrats' newest twist: a leadership-free leader

Image
Are House Democrats about to try a new twist in leadership? This morning, Axios reported that "Democratic congressional candidates nationwide, feeding off voter fury, are raging against their leadership and vowing to be ruthless." We know that Democrats know how to be ruthless. After all, they're the Party That (allegedly) Assassinated Charlie Kirk. They're the Party that allegedly attempted to (twice) assassinate then Candidate Donald Trump. But I digress. According to Axios, "I am not a 'when they go low, we go high' [person]. I'm not that kind of girl," Texas state Rep. Jolanda Jones, who is running in a November special election for a safely Democratic U.S. House seat, told Axios about dealing with Republicans." It's one thing to attack the opposite party. It's another to attack your own party. According to this article , "Dozens of Democrats running for U.S. House seats across the country told Axios they either wouldn'...

Senate Democrats again keep federal gov't shut down

Image
For the 11th time this year, Senate Democrats voted to keep the federal government shut down . To be fair, only a portion of the government is shut down. Most of the appropriations bills have been signed. That being said, some major bills haven't been signed. CBS is reporting that "Senate Majority Leader John Thune is expected to bring up a bill this week that would pay federal employees and military service members who have continued to work during the funding lapse. Advancing the legislation would require support from Democrats, who blocked a long-term defense spending bill from advancing last week." Expect that to fall short of the 60 votes needed to end cloture. While the Senate keeps voting to keep the government shut, expect House Republicans to stay away. Speaker Miker Johnson got ABC anchor Jonathan Karl to admit the quiet part out loud: Driving the Shutdown This is interesting: Democratic Rep. Johnny Olszewski — whose Maryland district is home to over 20,000 fede...

Exposing Omar Fateh's, DFL's gullibility

If people ever needed proof of Omar Fateh's and the DFL's gullibility, this is it .The Washington Free Beacon is reporting that "Minneapolis mayoral candidate Omar Fateh engaged in a series of friendly conversations with a parody X account masquerading as the 'chief rabbi of Gaza' and 'nude yogi,' screenshots shared with the Washington Free Beacon show. I would love to do a fundraiser for you,' Rabbi Linda Goldstein wrote. 'How do I get in touch? This anti-Zionist rabbi loves and supports you.'" That's stunningly foolish. I just did a short dig into this parody Twitter account. To say that it's filled with hat tips that it's fake is understatement. Sen. Fateh couldn't have done 5 seconds of research on this "chief rabbi of Gaza." For instance, check out this tweet: 🚨🚨🚨 Israel has struck my Flotilla ship with A SECOND TACTITCAL NUKE. I just took this photo of the mushroom cloud over my ship. We are all safe for ...

Chuck Schumer is lying to us

Image
Chuck Schumer shouldn't post on Twitter. He's worthless at it. After Sen. Schumer posted on Twitter on Thursday, Speaker Mike Johnson spoke out , saying "In his desperation, he’s selfishly chosen to 'show a fight' by: 1) shutting down the entire federal government; 2) demanding $1.5 trillion in NEW wasteful spending; and 3) promoting a rally openly sponsored by Communists. Schumer is shameless." Speaker Johnson added that "Schumer's power is 'now in jeopardy because the Marxists are planning to take his seat.'" This is what happens when Democrats try holding on too long. Right now, Sen. Schumer's leadership looks precarious. I wrote here how the No Kings Rally is a fraud. I quoted "The official No Kings organization’s partners include Communist Party USA (CPUSA), the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the DSA’s New York City and Boulder, Colorado, chapters, according to websites advertising upcoming national and New Yor...

Exposing the No Kings Movement

Image
The unmistakable message behind the No Kings is that they hate dictatorships and authoritarians . That's apparently intentionally misleading. Alpha News is reporting that "The official No Kings organization’s partners include Communist Party USA (CPUSA), the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the DSA’s New York City and Boulder, Colorado, chapters, according to websites advertising upcoming national and New York City protests. No Kings started its movement in 2025 and centers around portraying Trump as authoritarian, despite CPUSA repeatedly praising late Cuban dictator Fidel Castro and the DSA’s International Committee showing 'solidarity' with North Korea’s totalitarian government." I can't wait to hear No Kings' explanation that makes this movement and its sponsors palatable and/or acceptable. I don't think it's possible. That isn’t the only part of the No Kings Movement’s message that doesn’t fit with other parts of their message. On th...

Did Ken Martin throw DNC under the bus?

Image
After reading this Alpha News article , I'm left wondering if DNC Chair Ken Martin unintentionally threw the DNC under the proverbial bus. In the article, it opens by saying "Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Ken Martin said in an interview published Friday that his role makes him want to pull his own hair out on a daily basis. Martin told Politico that there is 'not a day that I don’t go home wanting to pull my hair out' in his current role. He added that being the head of the DNC is a very 'tough job.'" Did Chairman Martin mean that it's far more difficult to run an organization like the DNC, where there are more competitive seats? Or did Chairman Martin hint that he can't sit in his office and watch the checks come in without him having to do much in the way of fundraising? Either way, he's dealing with people like Sen. Schumer, who just got criticized by Mark Penn , who said this to Bret Baier during Special Report's Winners ...

Democrats vote to stifle military funding

Image
Despite their best efforts to pretend they support the military, Democrats voted against funding the military . Sen. Schumer's Shutdown is a perfect portrait of nonleadership. According to CBS's reporting, "Senate Democrats blocked an effort to advance an individual year-long appropriations bill to fund the Pentagon on Thursday, stalling Republican leaders' alternative approach to restart some funding on Day 16 of the government shutdown." CBS also reported that "In a 50 to 44 vote, all but three Democrats voted against moving forward with the full-year Defense Department appropriations bill. Democratic Sens. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada and John Fetterman of Pennsylvania voted in favor of advancing the bill. It needed 60 votes to advance." What type of 'moderate' votes to not pay our soldiers? There are some things that are simply unacceptable. Not paying our soldiers is one of those things. Not paying our so...

Tom Hauser is missing Councilman Jeff Johnson

Image
It's apparent that KSTP's Tom Hauser hasn't paid enough attention to Minnesota's gubernatorial race. When Hauser started his Political Analysis xegment of At Issue, he opened with Tim Pawlenty speaking at another establishment-based chat. Gov. Pawlenty said that the MNGOP couldn't just criticize the DFL. To nobody's surprise, everyone pretty much agreed with him. Noticeably missing was conservative solutions . The good news is that there's a candidate fixated on fixing problems. What's better is that he's got a history of fixing problem. I have the privilege of being his campaign manager. I also have the privilege of calling Jeff my longtime friend. You'd be wise in checking out St. Cloud City Councilman Jeff Johnson's campaign website . First, it's worth noting that Jeff didn't bury the lede. He opened his campaign website by saying "How many times have you heard political candidates give the same worn out gag-reflex speech that...

WHY this is Schumer's Shutdown

Image
Foolish Democrats like Sen. Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries insist that this isn't Sen. Schumer's Shutdown. Democrats aren't doing themselves favors by fighting that lost fight. This CBS article is proof that this is Sen. Schumer's Shutdown. The article opens by saying "The Senate failed to advance a House-passed GOP bill to fund the government for the ninth time on Wednesday, the 15th day of the government shutdown. The vote attracted no additional support from Democrats, who are demanding an extension of health care tax credits in exchange for their votes. Republicans need to convince five more senators to cross the aisle, a number that has remained unchanged since the start of the funding lapse. It's indisputable to say that the GOP shut down the government. The House GOP passed a clean CR (Continuing Resolution) on Sept. 30, 2025. Then they sent the CR to the Senate for their consideration, then hopefully onto the White House for President Trump's signatur...

DFL-Democrats = party of disrespectful dirtbags

Image
If ever there was a party that's totally missing character and virtue, it's the Democrats'-DFL Party. The highest profile proof of that is the Jay Jones Scandal in Virginia, with the J.B. Pritzker Riots running a close second. In 'fights' like this, though, it's difficult to bet against Keith Ellison's shennanigans . I offer as proof this Alpha News article, which opens by saying "Alpha News obtained exclusive video of Attorney General Keith Ellison not clapping for veterans as they arrived on an Honor Flight to visit memorials in Washington, D.C. The video was captured at Reagan National Airport on Sept. 26, just after the honor flight landed. Airline workers were announcing some veterans by name as they arrived—yet as the bystander video shows, Attorney General Ellison was not clapping." Please understand that I’m not saying that Jay Jones isn’t a total jerk who should’ve been rejected by Democrats. That definitely should’ve happened. Predictabl...

Virginia Democrats are typical Democrats

Image
As usual, Salena Zito's latest article nails it perfectly. In Salena's article, she wrote about Virginia Democrats' character (or lack thereof). She wrote "The stakes couldn’t be higher,' Jay Jones, the Virginia Democrat running for state attorney general, said Monday in an X post. It was an ironic post, coming 10 days after National Review reported numerous violent text messages Jones sent to a colleague in the legislature about a Republican lawmaker. Jones fantasized about urinating on the graves of political opponents as well as shooting then-Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert with 'two bullets to the head.' He also texted that he hoped Gilbert’s wife, Jennifer, would one day hold one of her children as they died." Then Salena continued, saying "And how hard is it for Virginia Democrats to demand that he face consequences for his behavior? Where are Sens. Mark Warner (D-VA) and Tim Kaine (D-VA)? Gubernatorial nominee Abigail Spanberger and li...

Joe Biden, Tony Blinken claim partial credit for Israel-Hamas cease-fire

Image
Though they had virtually nothing to do with the Israeli-Hamas cease-fire, Joe Biden and Tony Blinken have taken partial credit for the Israeli-Hamas cease-fire signed yesterday in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. For instance, in his tweet, Biden said "The road to this deal was not easy. My Administration worked relentlessly to bring hostages home, get relief to Palestinian civilians, and end the war. I commend President Trump and his team for their work to get a renewed ceasefire deal over the finish line." Honestly, this peace deal had little to do with the Biden administration or Blinken specifically. The world saw how weak the Biden administration was. They saw that Joe was a shell of his former self. Yesterday was mostly about President Trump's triumph. It wasn't about Biden's or Blinken's tactics. Blinken gave that away in this tweet . In that tweet, Blinken said "First, what changed to make this breakthrough possible? Hamas is finally and fully isolated....

Brandon Straka exposes the Democrats (6 years later)

Image
I'm thankful that Brandon Straka wasn't intimidated by Democrats, though, according to this , Democrats definitely attempted to intimidate Mr. Straka. This story opens with Mr. Straka saying "Once upon a time, I was a liberal, but you already knew that." Thankfully, Mr. Straka mustered up his courage and stood his ground. Then Mr. Straka exposed the Democrat Party for who they are and what they've done in the name of maintaining their grip on power. I frequently offer copious amounts of commentary but I won't this time. I'll let Mr. Straka speak for himself. He'll do a much better of a job speaking for himself than I could. Here's Brandon's story in his words: Brandon Straka: Liberalism has been devoured by leftism and leftism is just hatred and destruction marketed as virtue. Part of what's appealing about Brandon Staka is that it's difficult o pigeonhole him into the 'typical' archconservative mischaracterization. While it...

Donald Trump vs. Barack Obama, Iran edition

Image
President Trump is great at criticizing other presidents, whether they're American presidents or foreign presidents. President Trump has had fun with French President Macron. This morning, President Trump had fun trolling US Presidents Obama and Biden . Specifically, President Trump said "Nobody asked Joe Biden to come up and speak, I guarantee you that. If he did, he would have turned them down, I promise you. He didn't speak. He didn't speak, and he didn't speak well." After President Trump trolled Joe Biden, he sunk his teeth into President Obama, saying "But all of the countries in the Middle East—it could have—what we're doing now, it could have happened a long time ago, but it was strangled and set back almost irretrievably by the administrations of Barack Obama and Joe Biden. There was—there was a hatred towards Israel. There was an absolute hatred." Then President Trump let President Obama have it with both barrels: Setbacks really starte...

Tom Hauser vs. Pete Stauber, At Issue Edition

It didn't take long to figure out that Tom Hauser wouldn't be a neutral arbiter reporting the news when he interviewed Minnesota Congressman Pete Stauber . The opening question was confrontational, with Hauser asking Rep. Stauber "What proof do you have that the Democrats' motivation for shutting down government is to get free health care for illegals?" Rep. Stauber responded, saying "So the evidence is actually in the text of the Senate bill where they qant to reverse the Working Family Tax Cuts, where it says that we want to verify citizenship for taxpayer-funded health insurance." Republicans have given that reply for over a week. Democrats know that the proof is found on Page 57 in Section 2141 . The text reads " SEC. 2141. REPEAL OF HEALTH SUBTITLE CHANGES. Subtitle B of title VII of the Act titled "An Act to provide for reconciliation pursuant to title II of H. Con. Res. 14" (Public Law 119–21) is repealed and any law or regulation ...

Can Jack Ciattarelli defeat Mikkie Sherrill in NJ?

Image
A short 4 years ago, few people gave Jack Ciattarelli a chance of defeating Democrat incumbent Phil Murphy. Predictably, the 'experts' were off. Ciattarelli lost but by only 3 point. This time, NJ Democrats aren't taking anything for granted. Democrat Congresswoman Mikkie Sherrill is running this time because Gov. Murphy is term-limited out. She'll still face Ciattarelli. This time, though, a few things have changed in NJ, mostly starting with the number of registered voters in NJ . The most recent data from NJ says that "More than 4.2 million, nearly two thirds of all voters, are registered with a party in New Jersey. Democrats continue to outnumber Republicans with more than 38% of all registered New Jersey voters, according to the latest numbers. About 25% of voters were registered as Republicans as of Oct. 1. About 35% of voters are unaffiliated, the new data says." It should worry Democrats that "the number of Republicans has surged since 2021, with ...

Is Joe Biden's Operation Arctic Frost worse than Watergate?

Image
The New York Post is reporting that Chuck Grassley has released a memo that shows "The FBI secretly obtained the phone records of nine Republican members of Congress, including eight sitting senators, under the Biden administration as part of its 'Arctic Frost' investigation of 2020 election meddling, a bombshell document revealed." Whoever is involved with Operation Arctic Frost is likely in trouble. That's because Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson, the chairs of the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, respectively, issued a joint statement , which said "Given that these materials relate to an unprecedented collection of records and information on sitting [Members of Congress] and raise serious constitutional concerns, Congress’ need for these records clearly outweighs any interest in secrecy. Further, the unprecedented nature of the DOJ’s and FBI’s actions in collecting [Members of Congress’] communication recor...

Jay Jones cancels VA fundraiser

Image
The first major news to break since word broke alleging Jay Jones' texting scandal broke this afternoon. UPI, via Axios, is reporting that "The Democrat candidate for Virginia attorney general has canceled a Thursday fundraiser in the wake of his texting scandal, Axios reported." The article continues, saying "The fundraiser was scheduled for Thursday evening at the home of novelist David Baldacci, but the cancellation may indicate the Jones campaign is struggling. Top Democrats, including Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., have denounced the texts but haven't called on Jones to drop out of the race, causing Republicans to allege hypocrisy. Kaine called the texts 'indefensible,' but says he's 'still a supporter.' He said, 'Jay has apologized,' Axios reported." If Sen. Kaine honestly thinks that Jones has legitimately apologized, Sen. Kaine isn't qualified to serve in the Senate. Anyone that's listened to Jones's faux apology kno...

Can Abigail Spanberger win?

Image
It's been assumed for a month that Abigail Spanberger would defeat Winsome Earle-Seares, then become Virginia's next single-term govoernor. Ben Domenech's op-ed questions that theory. Domenech's op-ed is particularly noteworthy because he's a Virginia resident with his wife Meghan McCain. But I digress. Back to the op-ed. Domenech wrote "The off-year governor’s election in purple Virginia is almost always a win for the party that doesn’t hold the White House, but this year the race is showing how much Democrats have refused to learn their lessons from their massive culture-war losses of 2024. The battle in the Old Dominion has all the hallmarks of Democrats’ White House defeat in November." Quite a few polls show Spanberger with a significant, though not prohibitive-sized lead. With Jay Jones' ethical difficulties, it isn't likely that Spanberger will open up an outside-the-margin-of-error lead. The Turning Point? Thanks in part to a massive spen...

Chuck Schumer's "real...health care crisis"

Image
A miraculous thing happened during Margaret Brennan's interview of Chuck Schumer. During Brennan's interview, she pushed Schumer . According to this transcript, Brennan opened by saying "I want to pick up on something the Speaker of the House was pointing to. He wants this fight to be about illegals, as he said. And I want to be specific here, because we know from our research that there is no federal money that goes towards health care tax credits for undocumented immigrants in this country. The federal government doesn't fund health insurance for the undocumented. But it is also true that states like yours, New York, does provide health care for people who are in this country illegally. And their argument seems to be the money here is fungible, and bottom line is, it comes out of the federal pocket. Do you want to respond to that?" Smart policy wonks would reflexively know to throw in the 'money is fungible' line. I suspect that put Sen. Schumer on the d...

Merrick Garland's, Joe Biden's surveillance disgrace

It's time the GOP did a real investigation into the alleged violations of the 4th Amendment by Jack Smith. Little-by-little, information is dribbling out about the improprieties allegedly committed by Jack Smith, who never should've been picked as a special counsel. Yesterday, Sen. Grassley revealed an FBI document that revealed "the FBI targeted eight Republican senators’ personal cell phones for 'tolling data' as part of its Arctic Frost investigation." Grassley's memo continues, saying "The FBI targeted the following Members of Congress: Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) Today, Susan Ferrechio of the Washington Times reported this: The FBI spied on eight Senate Republicans and a House Republican lawmaker in 2023 during the Justice ...

Jay Jones has lost Morning Joe?

Image
If this Fox News article is telling the truth, Jay Jones' days as Virginia Democrats' candidate for their attorney general are nearing their end. Fox is reporting that "An MSNBC "Morning Joe" panelist called for Democratic Virginia attorney general candidate Jay Jones to drop out of the race after his text messages resurfaced showing he called for the shooting of a GOP lawmaker. Co-host Mika Brzezinski noted that Republicans and Democrats were criticizing the messages and said they were 'horrible.' She added, 'I didn’t want to read them out loud.'" HotAir's David Strom, however, is reporting something quite different. Strom has written that "I don't know if new internal polling has dropped that shows that Virginia's Democratic Party candidate for Attorney General Jay Jones can survive his murderous texting scandal, or whether Democrats just believe that fantasizing about killing your political opponents is normal and accept...

Jay Jones, the Democrats' Attorney General candidate in Virginia, just sank his campaign

Image
Apparently, there's something in Virginia's water that makes Democrat politicians turn stupid. According to this article , Jay Jones and Abigail Spanberger blew up their campaigns. The Mercury reports that "What began as a quiet October Friday in Virginia politics erupted into a full-blown national scandal when screenshots of private, three-year old text messages showing Democratic attorney general nominee Jay Jones fantasizing about shooting then-House Speaker Todd Gilbert and his children were made public . What would prompt a man to say something that mean-spirited, especially that mean-spirited about a little kid? Is that the temperament you want in a state's chief law enforcement officer? That wouldn't be my first choice. It's stunning to read "The National Review story revealed an August 2022 exchange between Jones, a former Norfolk delegate and one-time assistant attorney general, and Del. Carrie Coyner, R-Chesterfield. In the texts, Jones described...
