Democrats' dishonest statements on Mamdani

Apparently, NY Democrats will say anything to push Zohran Mamdani across the finish line. This article offers proof positive of that statement. The article opens by saying "A common rejoinder to Zohran Mamdani’s campaign promise to fund social programs with higher taxes was that the rich would leave New York if taxed too highly. In Vanity Fair, writer James Pogue asks skeptically if Mamdani voters, blinded by rage against the wealthy, are so disgruntled that they are 'no longer interested in hearing dire predictions of what might happen if his tax increases drive wealthy residents to Florida.' The New York Post claims that the rich are already leaving; investor Bill Ackman said in an interview this summer, 'If Mamdani becomes the mayor of New York, you’re going to see the flight of businesses from New York.'"

It should be remembered that The Tax Foundation reported "In 2008, Maryland added four new income tax brackets, including a top rate of 6.25% on income over $1 million. (This is in addition to county income taxes, which average 2.98%.) As we and others have noted before, the Comptroller of Maryland has reported that the number of 'millionaire' returns tumbled sharply between 2007 and 2008, a 30% drop in filers and 22% drop in declared income. Rather than income taxes from this group rising by $106 million, they fell by $257 million."

Whoever wrote this article either isn't honest or didn't do much research. This article is mostly myth. It isn't fact. This is mostly fact:

Let's be honest. There's no way people won't leave NYC if Mamdani wins. They're already leaving. Raising taxes will just accelerate the exodus from NYC. Further, the people of NYC who don't leave because of high taxes will likely leave because of high crime in NYC.

The truth is that NYC, with its high crime, high taxes and bumbling government is easy pickings for states like Texas, Tennessee and Florida.
