Jay Jones, the Democrats' Attorney General candidate in Virginia, just sank his campaign
What would prompt a man to say something that mean-spirited, especially that mean-spirited about a little kid? Is that the temperament you want in a state's chief law enforcement officer? That wouldn't be my first choice.
It's stunning to read "The National Review story revealed an August 2022 exchange between Jones, a former Norfolk delegate and one-time assistant attorney general, and Del. Carrie Coyner, R-Chesterfield. In the texts, Jones described a scenario in which Gilbert 'gets two bullets to the head,' followed by a wish that the Republican lawmaker’s children 'die in their mother’s arms.'"
I don't trust people that are that mean-spirited. My first question is simple. If your hate is that visceral, why should I think that you can apply the law equally? Obviously, that's impossible.
This won't help Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger, either: In 2021, Terry McAuliffe blew up his campaign by saying this: What's more stupid to say? McAuliffe telling parents they shouldn't tell teachers what to teach? Or Jay Jones essentially saying he wanted to shoot then-Speaker Todd Gilbert?
