Did Ken Martin throw DNC under the bus?

After reading this Alpha News article, I'm left wondering if DNC Chair Ken Martin unintentionally threw the DNC under the proverbial bus. In the article, it opens by saying "Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Ken Martin said in an interview published Friday that his role makes him want to pull his own hair out on a daily basis. Martin told Politico that there is 'not a day that I don’t go home wanting to pull my hair out' in his current role. He added that being the head of the DNC is a very 'tough job.'"

Did Chairman Martin mean that it's far more difficult to run an organization like the DNC, where there are more competitive seats? Or did Chairman Martin hint that he can't sit in his office and watch the checks come in without him having to do much in the way of fundraising? Either way, he's dealing with people like Sen. Schumer, who just got criticized by Mark Penn, who said this to Bret Baier during Special Report's Winners and Losers segment:

I think Chuck Schumer. He has put himself in a bind. He cannot end the shutdown here; the left will never give him any credit anyway when he folds on this thing. If he doesn't fold, I think his resting keep going down. What the heck is the shutdown about? I think he got himself in a no-win situation.
In Minnesota, Chairman Martin didn't have to deal with high-profile basket cases like Sen. Schumer. On the other hand, the DFL didn't have the fundraising dificulties the DNC has:
Despite this, Martin emphasized to Politico that he still believes he has the "best job" in the nation. "Most people think I’ve got the shittiest job in America, but I feel like I’ve got the best job in America," Martin told the outlet.

Some Democrats have, per reports, previously blasted Martin — who was elected to his position in February — as being "whiny" and "weak." Additionally, the DNC, which some Democrats have deemed "almost irrelevant," has reportedly been struggling with internal conflicts and a drop in donations this year under Martin’s watch. The DNC has been lagging behind Republicans in fundraising this year, according to reports. The organization had just $15 million in cash on hand by the end of June, significantly trailing the Republican National Committee (RNC), which reported having $80 million on hand.

This interview is confusing:

The first question I have is simple. Why hasn't Chairman Martin made this ad a higher-profile ad? If you're trying to flip the House from red to blue, why isn't this the centerpiece of your campaign? Is it because it isn't as potent of an issue as you've pretended?
