Joe Biden, Tony Blinken claim partial credit for Israel-Hamas cease-fire

Though they had virtually nothing to do with the Israeli-Hamas cease-fire, Joe Biden and Tony Blinken have taken partial credit for the Israeli-Hamas cease-fire signed yesterday in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. For instance, in his tweet, Biden said "The road to this deal was not easy. My Administration worked relentlessly to bring hostages home, get relief to Palestinian civilians, and end the war. I commend President Trump and his team for their work to get a renewed ceasefire deal over the finish line."

Honestly, this peace deal had little to do with the Biden administration or Blinken specifically. The world saw how weak the Biden administration was. They saw that Joe was a shell of his former self. Yesterday was mostly about President Trump's triumph. It wasn't about Biden's or Blinken's tactics. Blinken gave that away in this tweet.

In that tweet, Blinken said "First, what changed to make this breakthrough possible? Hamas is finally and fully isolated. Arab states and Turkey have said 'enough.' The misery Hamas provoked and would allow to persist has delegitimized it among most Gazans. And Hamas realized that the cavalry (Iran, Hezbollah, the Houthis) are not coming to the rescue."

Joe Biden's tweet:

Blinken's tweet: Meanwhile, President Trump spoke on the world stage:

While I still have doubts about whether Hamas will fulfill its contractual obligations, I don't doubt whether President Trump is up to the task of putting together complex deals and bringing them to fruition. Honestly, I question whether Biden or Blinken is capable of much beyond buttering toast.
