Bitter Barack Obama, mad Michelle Obama spew venom at Donald Trump

Image
If Barack Obama hadn't spent so much time listening to his wife, he not've turned into the lecturing know-it-all that he's been most of his political life. During their speeches at the opening of President Obama's Presidential Center, the thing that spoke loudest was the criticism of the president who wasn't there . Politico reports that "President Donald Trump was conspicuously absent from Thursday’s dedication of the Obama Presidential Center, the only living commander in chief not in attendance. But the Obamas made a point Thursday of delivering a pointed rebuke of the man who succeeded them in the White House, all while refusing to mention him by name." The Obamas have lived the American Dream. Too often, though, they've complained about this great nation. Michelle Obama is famous for saying "For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hung...

Almanac debate, Angie Craig vs. Peggy Flanagan for U.S. Senate edition

Image
Friday night, Rep. Angie Craig and Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan sat for questions on Almanac. To say that it was feisty is understatement, especially with all the accusations, counter-accusations, corrections and setting the records (yes, plural) straight. Angie Craig got asked the first feisty question, which was about immigration. She was asked why she voted for President Trump's immigration bill. Craig was the first to mention that she's worked tirelessly on "comprehensive immigration reform." Conservatives watching or reading that response, feel free to feel ill. We know that phrase is the Democrats' go-to phrase to virtue signal that they care about "undocumented workers. HINT: they aren't undoocumented. They're here illegally. If Rep. Craig wants a chaotic situation, live in Europe. It's getting so bad that they're adopting President Trump's policies. Apparently, even Democrats appreciate tranquility. Another section of the deb...

Harmeet Dillon, USDOJ vs. Rob Manfred, MLB

Image
Rob Manfred, the commissioner of Major League Baseball (MLB), is about to face scrutiny like he's never faced before. Last week Friday, the San Francisco Giants hosted Pride Night to 'honor' the LGBTQIA+ community. The problem that arose was that Giants' pitchers Landon Roupp, JT Brubaker and Ryan Walker wrote Bible verses on their team-issued hats . According to the report, "The players referenced Genesis 9:12-16, a passage on the rainbow covenant." After God destroyed the Earth and its inhabitants (except for Noah and his wife and their 3 children and their wives), God established His Covenant with Noah, saying "I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth. I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood;...

Iran returns to acting like a terrorist again

Image
The U.S.-Iran MOU is off to a rocky start. According to David Strom's HotAir article , Iran plans on requiring shipping insurance to "the Persian Gulf Strait Authority, which will allow you to transit the Strait—after considering your application to do so—if you pay insurance fees to it." That sounds like Iran isn't changing its ways, which is what I've been preaching for 2+ months. The U.S. had their foot on Iran's throat before agreeing the first cease-fire. That's the first signal that Iran read as weakness. Now the talk is that President Trump is interested in a negotiated settlement. That's another appeasement signal to Iran. If the U.S. continues sending those appeasement signals, we will fritter away whatever leverage we've had. Further, it isn't wise for V.P J.D. Vance to threaten Israel's cabinet like he did yesterday: Thus far, VP Vance's instincts on national security/foreign policy have been questionable. At this point, I pr...

Ro Khanna vs. Maria Bartiromo, SAVE America Act edition

Image
Based on Ben Smith's article , I'd say it'd be kind to say that Rep. Ro Khanna, (D-CA), got his butt kicked by Maria Bartiromo when they debated the SAVE America Act . First, Khanna argued "I don’t think people should have to go get their birth certificates and go to the registrar. We have a system that allows people to vote if they’re citizens. And by the way, if you’re not a citizen and you vote, you should have enormous penalties, consequences. I'm for making sure that we criminally prosecute people who are voting illegally." FIRST REBUTTAL: How do determine who's a citizen. Here in St. Cloud, MN, lots of Somalis vote legally and speak broken English at best! Giving municipalities the tools is the only way make these vital determinations. Further, when EVERYONE has to produce their birth certificate, charges of racism are meaningless. Bartiromo wasted little time blasting Khanna. She said "That’s the law. You can't vote if you're not an ...

Minneapolis: soft-on-crime & lacking leadership

Image
DFL Gov. Tim Walz loves touting fake polls like saying Minnesota is a great place to do business, has great schools and is a great place to raise a family. This Alpha News article highlights Minneapolis's deficiencies. Minneapolis isn't a great place to raise a family because they still haven't complied with a Minnesota Supreme Court ruling that requires Minneapolis to add 100 police officers because the Court ruled they're "still more than 100 short of the minimum legally required officer count!" If Jacob Frey was a legitimate leader, he would've gotten those officers hired. According to this Alpha News article , the initial ruling was handed down in 2022. Having 4 years to hire 100 officers is plenty of time. According to the initial article, "The concerns also follow a lawsuit filed by the Upper Midwest Law Center (UMLC), which alleged that Minneapolis failed to comply with the Minnesota Supreme Court’s ruling in the Spann v. Minneapolis City Coun...

The wages of Identity politics is dropping test scores

Image
If there's anything that's clear from this Alpha News article , it's that a) identity politics are a waste of time and b) Twin Cities' activism has hurt hundreds of thousands of children. The article reports "At Minneapolis North High School, where state data show just 1% of students are proficient in math and 15% in reading , commencement speakers devoted significant attention to land acknowledgments and topics ranging from the school’s 'unapologetically black' identity to the impact of Operation Metro Surge." It isn't difficult to understand why public school test scores are dropping precipitously. These parents are failures ! Sugarcoating that truth hurts these students. Why aren't these parents ashamed of these test results? Don't they take pride in their children's academic performance? These students' performance is terrible. This KARE11 report says that 1 student self-deported: Teacher Tom Lachermeier invoked Operation Metro...

Eden Prairie Indoctrination Middle School

Image
Technically, it's known as Central Middle School in Eden Prairie . In reality, though, it's about the indoctrination. Alpha News reports "A sixth-grade teacher at Central Middle School in Eden Prairie raised bias concerns when she used materials featuring anti-ICE movements and images of anti-Israel protests to educate her social studies class." Nothing like a little combination of indoctrination and propaganda to teach young skulls full of mush, as Rush Limbaugh used to say. In the article, we're told "Alpha News was told that one of the lessons for the 11- and 12-year-olds in Jenna Herbrand’s class included a Fox 9 video detailing a local store’s anti-ICE knitted hats. The YouTube video opens by saying “the presence of ICE in Minnesota has Gilah Mashaal seeing red,” showing red hats with 'Melt the ICE' tags on the side. Mashaal, the store’s owner, also explained that the hats were based on those that the Norwegians wore during occupation of their na...

Antifa charged with federal interstate crimes

Image
This morning, Daniel Rosen, the "US Attorney for Minnesota," charged 15 anti-ICE protesters "allegedly tied to two Minneapolis-based Antifa groups." According to KSTP's reporting, "Officials say the case involves multiple defendants accused of conspiracy to impede or injure federal officers and related crimes that 'violently oppose immigration law enforcement.' Two of the 15 people aren’t yet in custody, Rosen said, but prosecutors expect them to surrender in the near future." People that think that Antifa isn't a real organization are lying. They're either lying to you or to themselves. They're a well-funded organization. That isn't speculation, either: McCarthy said the investigation leading to these charges found "extensive planning, material support and coordinated attacks against federal personnel and facilities." He also called the charges "an important milestone" for maintaining the rule of law and...

How low will gas, grocery prices go in Minnesota?

Image
As gas prices go, so go grocery prices. Technically, grocery prices are driven more by diesel prices than by regular unleaded the trends are often similar. According to this Alpha News article , the news is good for Minnesota drivers. It reports that "On Monday, the state's average price for regular unleaded stood at $3.86 per gallon, according to AAA, down from $4.41 a month ago." That's a 55-cent drop in a month. With the U.S.-Iran MOU to be signed this Friday, the Strait of Hormuz is expected to open. That Strait is where 20+ percent of the world's oil flows through. With the amount of oil freighters backed up in that little chokepoint, oil hasn't been getting to market. Once the blockade is over, there's likely to be a glut of supply. That's why it isn't difficult to picture a gallon of gas dropping below $3.00 a gallon by Labor Day. Once President Trump's blockade is over, the next big thing that the Administration will attack will be ener...

Trump's hoped-for start-of-the-week

Image
I still don't think that Iran will keep its promises that it purportedly made in the Pakistani-negotiated Memorandum of Understanding, aka MOU. Still, it's worth noting that the stock market is off to a fast start and oil prices continue dropping . Further, Mark Penn's tweet makes some important points. For instance, Penn wrote "The President pulled back from historic and impressive military superiority once the Iranians captured the Strait and held leverage. That is usually what Trump does only they did it first. But as soon as he restarted the bombing, Iran saw that its actions would have consequences and came to this deal." Today, President Trump is attending the G-7 Summit, which potentially means some tense conversations. The Hill reports "President Trump arrived in France for the Group of Seven (G7) summit, having electronically signed on Sunday the memorandum of understanding between the U.S. and Iran. It would open the Strait of Hormuz on Friday, af...

The end of war? I'll believe it when I have proof

Image
Believing that Iran has ceased their war with the U.S. and Israel fits into the category of 'too good to be true.' According to this statement from Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif , "Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED. Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon. The official signing ceremony will be on Friday, 19 June in Switzerland." The signing date is next Friday. I'm betting the ceasefire won't last that long. An immediate and permanent termination of military operations, including in Lebanon"? Somebody must've gotten their hands on Hunter's stash to buy that. Ed Morrrissey's article title is most apt: "Iran, Trump Announce Deal … For Now Predictably, President Trump bragged about the accomplishment: This Great Deal w...

J.D. Vance's Task Force to Eliminate Fraud

Image
It doesn't take Elon Musk to figure out that government fraud will be the top issue in this year's midterm elections. Here in Minnesota, Medicaid Fraud has been at or near the top of issues since the start of the 2025 legislative session. Only recently has the fraud issue become a top national issue. When RealClearPolitics publishes an article like this , it's clear that fraud is a top national issue. The article includes a question when it opens this paragraph with "How big a business is defrauding the federal government? According to GAO: 'In FY 2025, 15 federal agencies reported a total estimate of about $186 billion in improper payments across 64 programs, an increase of $24 billion from the prior fiscal year. Most of these improper payments were a result of overpayments.'" People from California, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota and New York are benefitting from this fraud. In other instances, people from other states have established businesses in...

Gas prices continue dropping

Image
In yet another defeat for Democrats, gas prices fell for the third straight week . According to the article, "The national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline declined for three consecutive weeks, dropping from $4.56 per gallon on May 21 to $4.12 per gallon on Thursday." That's a drop of 44 cents a gallon in 3 weeks. With speculation that the war will soon be over, prices will likely continue dropping next week. The article also reports "Lower gasoline prices are 'delivering some relief to drivers during the busy summer travel season,' the American Automobile Association (AAA) said in a June 11 statement. 'Gas prices typically peak around this time of year, but uncertainty surrounding the Strait of Hormuz makes this year more unpredictable. Pump prices remain at four-year highs, but the national average is currently far from the record set on June 11, 2022, of $5 per gallon.'" This shows a short history of crude oil prices: Brent crude...

Quantus Insights poll shows Graham Platner, Susan Collins tied

Image
It was bound to happen. Sooner rather than later, Susan Collins would tie Graham Platner in a poll. Redstate.com reports that Quantus Insights Polling shows Platner leading Collins 46%-45% in their most recent polling: NEW QUANTUS INSIGHTS POLL | June 12, 2026 Our latest Maine U.S. Senate survey finds the race tightening sharply since March, with Graham Platner now holding a narrow 1-point edge over Susan Collins. 📊 Maine U.S. Senate 🔵 Graham Platner: 46% 🔴 Susan Collins: 45% ⚪️… pic.twitter.com/e1yIO8piFW — Quantus Insights (@QuantusInsights) June 12, 2026 Platner's Nazi tattoo was going to hurt him. It was a matter of when, not if. Platner's sexting scandal was a matter of when, not if, it'd hurt him. Leave it to President Trump to summarize things with humor: Graham Platner is a world-class thug. Check out that rap sheet. That's a rap sheet that'd make Manson think about adopting Platner. (I'm being a little sarcastic there.) In 2006-08, Democrats recru...

Illinois politicians picked illegal aliens over Bears

Image
Most athletes keep their political beliefs to themselves. Famoously, Michael Jordan was asked why he wasn't more active politically. He replied "Because Republicans play basketball, too." In this Fox News op-ed , Chicago Bears Hall of Fame linebacker Brian Urlacher pushed aside the Jordan Rule. He wrote "I just don't see how as a state, was it legislator, governor, city mayor, how you can let this team leave the state of Illinois or even be a topic of discussion. You know, you do what you have to do to keep the Bears there. The fans, we have some of the best fans in the world for any sport." The Bears are one of the NFL's original teams. Losing them to Indiana is like Green Bay losing the Packers to Iowa. It's simply unthinkable. Then Urlacher stuck the shiv in and gave it a sharp twist, saying "If I was those guys, I would probably do what I had to do to keep them in the state of Illinois. Maybe not at Soldier Field because that was already off...

MNGOP is normal, DFL proves they aren't

Image
The picture couldn't be more unmistakable. Rep Leigh Finke issued this statement after USA Today picked him as Minnesota's Woman of the Year. In the statement, Finke said "I am extremely honored to be receiving such important recognition as Woman of the Year for Minnesota. I am earnestly grateful for the recognition I have received for my work because it is a direct reflection of the long history of work of woman leaders before me and for those to come. It is a dramatic understatement to say that I am beyond honored to see my name on the list of honorees. As an elected official, I recognize how I got here. The faith that has been put in me by my district, the queer community, and my colleagues at the Capitol has been life-giving. I have faced several challenges on my way here, but each one of them has only strengthened me to make me the powerful woman I am today. I have received inspiration from my peers, colleagues, and communities for whom I have the deepest respect, an...

Exposing Minneapolis's neighborly behavior

Image
This Alpha News article exposes Minneapolis's neighborliness. During Operation Metro Surge, Jacob Frey, Minneapolis's DFL mayor, spoke often of Minneapolis's immigrant neighbors . In this tweet, Frey wrote "In Minneapolis, our immigrant neighbors aren’t just part of the community — they are the community. They’re our friends, our family, and a huge part of what makes this city so great." I'm betting that others don't share that opinion. The Alpha News article reports "Myah Casey and Lindsey Alger recently woke up to discover their U-Haul was stolen after moving from La Crosse, Wis., to Minneapolis, Minnesota. After a long day of moving boxes and driving the 160 miles to Minneapolis, Casey and Alger locked the U-Haul and brought the keys inside for the night. That night, the entire U-Haul vanished between the hours of 4:47 and 5:47 a.m., according to the footage outside their new residence. This theft left the couple with nothing but the clothes they ...

Grift, Minnesota-Style

Image
The NY Post Editorial Board ripped Tim Walz's DFL administration to shreds in this editorial . The NY Post didn't pull its punches, starting in the first paragraph. It opened by saying "In the end, the most appalling thing about the ballooning US social-services fraud scandals is the eager collusion of state officials in robbing the public by the billions — with Minnesota the early prime example. Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday asked the Justice Department to investigate and perhaps prosecute Gov. Tim Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison and other high officials over the evidence laid out in a devastating House Oversight Committee report on benefit fraud in Minnesota." Next, it said "The committee documented how more than 30 whistleblowers tried to sound the alarm on fraud , only to be silenced by the Democrats running the state — e.g., with explicit orders to 'stop looking into' obvious fraud because the folks in charge feared being labeled 'racis...

Donald Trump's strategy for not winning

Apparently, Donald Trump isn't interested in winning if it doesn't include a months-long cease-fire and a months-long negotiation. At some point, the U.S. needs to get serious and eliminate the IRGC and the Besij. Further, it must arm the Iranian people so the Iranian people can take control of their nation. According to Fox News's reporting , "The president also told Fox News the U.S. operation involved the deployment of 49 Tomahawk missiles alongside fighter jets targeting radar and air defense systems. The strikes reportedly hammered positions about 40 miles outside Tehran and along Iran’s southwestern coast on the Persian Gulf. Trump warned that the United States is prepared to rapidly escalate military action if Tehran does not soon sign an agreement to end the ongoing crisis. 'We'll bomb the S— out of them tomorrow,' Trump warned." Who cares? Bombing the daylights out Iran means nothing. Eliminating the IRGC and Besij is everything. They're ...

Tim Walz's education decline continues

Image
Tim Walz's education policies have stunk since he took office. That's what the information in this Alpha News article says. According to the article, "Minnesota is seeing another decline in education, dropping 11 spots on a national ranking since 2019. The Annie E. Casey Foundation — a nonprofit organization that specializes in researching and promoting educational, economic, and health outcomes for children since 1948 — shed light on the problem with the release of its 2026 Kids Count Data Book on Monday." The article continues, saying "In one year, Minnesota’s education ranking dropped four spots, falling from 17th to 21st in the nation. More than half of the state’s student population is not meeting education standards. In 2024, 69% of fourth graders were not proficient in reading, while 66% of eighth graders were not proficient in math, according to the National Assessment of Educational Progress." The Nation's Report Card, aka NAEP, is an indictmen...

Fraud's price, fraud's cost, fraud's tragedy

Image
There are 3 things that negatively affect fraud victims. First, there's the price of fraud. That's figured in the amount of $$$ STOLEN by fraudsters from taxpayers. Next, there's the cost of fraud, which is the value of services lost. Think of the homes that weren't provided by people battling addiction, seniors who can't afford housing and those just getting out of prison. On a personal basis, this might be the costliest of the considerations, no pun intended. Third, there's the personal development lost by those needing, but not getting, autism treatment. Further, how many people lost child care (CCAP) assistance programs, etc. What got me thinking about these things is this Alpha News article . According to the article, "Just days after Alpha News reported that rural home care providers said Minnesota’s Medicaid revalidation process was shutting down legitimate agencies, non-emergency medical transportation companies in Greater Minnesota say they are no...

The cost of doing nothing: How Tim Walz and Keith Ellison fueled Minnesota's fraud explosion

Image
The executive summary of this investigative report is damning to both Keith Ellison and Gov. Tim Walz's time in office. For instance, the Executive Summary's initial bullet point said "Senior officials in Governor Walz’s office and Attorney General Ellison’s office were aware of credible, systemic fraud concerns in social services programs as early as 2019 within the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) and by April 2020 within the state Department of Education (MDE) , despite later public statements by Governor Walz suggesting otherwise." I coined a phrase that fits here perfectly. It says "Democrats will always do the right thing -- when it's the only option left." This isn't just meant as a smart aleck comment. It's meant as a statement of fact, too. Why didn't Walz and Ellison take immediate action against these fraudsters? Was it because they needed the Somalis' votes? Was it because the DFL is soft-on-crime? Was it all-of-...

Steve Simon's trust-without-verifying vouching system

Image
In the late 1980s, President Reagan made popular a phrase during his summits with Soviet Gen. Sec. Mickhail Gorbachev known as trust but verify. These days, Steve Simon, Minnesota's DFL Secretary of State, is carrying on a practice I'd title as trust-without-verifying voter registration, aka vouching. According to this Alpha News article , "America First Legal (AFL) obtained data last month showing that 18,898 people used 'vouching' to either update their voter registration or become registered to vote in Minnesota in 2024." This has voter fraud written all over it. AFL and local counsel Erick Kaardal said "Minnesota’s voter registration rolls contain significant numbers of individuals registered at addresses where they do not actually reside. This is reflected in the disproportionately high rates of undeliverable postal verification cards associated with vouched registrations, the elevated rates at which vouched voters are later placed in challenged sta...

Donald Trump needs to finish off Iran

Image
Mark LEvin and Marc Thiessen, 2 of the smartest U.S. journalists these days, sat down for a lengthy interview Sunday night to discuss next steps (finishing steps?) to the Iran War. They essentially said what I've said for the past 5-6 weeks == that the time for negotiating is history. During this interview, Thiessen properly noticed that Iran has wishes but nothing in terms of bargaining chips. According to Thiessen, the nuclear dust is buried so deep that Iran has admitted that they can't get at the nuclear material (the dust or the centrifuges). Further, we don't need these things. They might be nice to have but they aren't essential. Exchanging these things for frozen Iranian assets is just a lifeline to Hezbollah and Iran's other proxies. President Trump, it's decision time. The U.S. hates endless wars like Afghanistan. We hate endless negotiations, too. When you first ran for president, you told us that we'd get tired of winning. For the most part, we...

Kendall Qualls' strong interview

Image
This morning on At Issue, Tom Hauser interviewed Kendall Qualls in what was a strong, impressive interview for Qualls , the endorsed GOP candidate for governor. During the interview, Hauser asked Qualls whether he approved of the moment of silence for Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin. Qualls replied "You know that was not the time for it. If we’re going to do anything, if it was my choice, I would say, ‘Yes, let’s have a moment of silence for fallen officers.’ We’ve had officers targeted across the state from last year, few years, they have a tough job, and I believe actually they’ve been made to be scapegoats the last eight years . " More than a few times, Minneapolis city councilmembers have hung Minneapolis police officers out to dry because it was a great political opportunity for Minneapolis's politicians. It's time that politicians learned how important the police are in determining a city's quality of life is and how important the police are in a ci...

Tim Walz: everything that's "wrong with modern politics"

Image
It isn't surprising that whistleblowers from Minnesota's Department of Human Services are criticizing Minnesota's DFL Gov. Tim Walz. What's surprising is that's what they're saying in criticizing Gov. Walz on the record. The Alpha News article reports "The DHS employees describe themselves as 'over 480 Minnesota state staff serving with pride & commitment to our people & state.' The Department of Human Services has been at the center of many of Minnesota’s fraud scandals." These DHS employees are quoted as saying "In our view, Tim Walz represents everything wrong with modern politics: a politician skilled at crafting a public image while avoiding accountability for the consequences of his decisions. Tim Walz has lied his way through politics and shrugging off any criticisms. Under his leadership, Minnesota has experienced growing division, declining public trust, and a political climate increasingly driven by ideology rather than...

Graham Platner's grave, Ro Khanna's moderate reputation

Image
Apparently, Democrats are willing to fight for Graham Platner to the Nth Degree. Even so-called 'moderate' Ro Khanna is willing to campaign with Platner . The Washington Post, among other publications, reports that "The rally with Rep. Ro Khanna (D-California) and other Democratic candidates at a theater in this resort town comes as Platner battles a spate of tough news accounts of his past and as a few Democrats in Washington have begun publicly suggesting he is not the right person to try to oust Republican Sen. Susan Collins in a race that is crucial to Democrats’ bid to flip the Senate." Platner isn't just battling "a spate of tough news accounts of his past." He's battling "a spate of tough" truths from his past which his accusers have texts for. It's one thing to make accusations. It's another to have the receipts to verify the statements. The most dangerous thing a politician can meet is a constituent bearing accusations that...

May's job report beats expectations

Image
If we keep getting jobs reports like we've gotten the past 3 months, CNBC will need to revise their article's wording from this month's article. This morning's article said "Job growth unexpectedly surged in May as the U.S. labor market continued a solid year of expansion, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday." In addition to doing better than expected, revisions for the past 2 months were revised upwards by 93,000. Those are major revisions. If the economy continues improving, CNBC should revise their article to say "Job growth expectedly surged in June..." This is welcome information but it isn't surprising. A year ago, I predicted something that I called 'the Trump boom.' I was off with the timing a little but the boom is happening. Rick Santelli and Joe Kernen spoke to that this morning: Both men said that the stock market had already priced in a strong economy. When the investor class does that, consumer confidence often i...

Cities Church should file lawsuit against City of St. Paul

Image
It isn't theory that a city's, state's or federal government's laws are supposed to be applied equally. That's actually part of the Constitution. This afternoon, True North Legal attorneys representing Cities Church issued statements expressing their disgust with the St. Paul City Attorney after she refused "to prosecute agitators that invaded Cities Church." Statement from Renee Carlson, General Counsel for True North Legal: "The St. Paul City Attorney assures the public that violence, property destruction, or threats to public safety would have been prosecuted, but that draws an arbitrary line that conveniently excludes statutory charges for other kinds of unlawful conduct. Just because the agitators didn’t break any windows doesn’t mean they didn’t break the law. The City Attorney's assurance that the rights of religious people in St. Paul are protected means nothing when the governing authorities charged with enforcing those protections refu...

St. Paul's battle against people of faith

Image
It's obvious that St. Paul isn't interested in either public safety, the Constitution or its spiritual health. It's obvious after reading this KSTP article highlighting "The St. Paul City Attorney’s Office has declined to bring state criminal charges against demonstrators who disrupted a Jan. 18 service at Cities Church. In a statement, City Attorney Irene Kao said videos and other materials related to the Jan. 18 incident were insufficient to establish probable cause and result in a criminal conviction." The City issued the obligatory letter saying that "This decision should not be interpreted as an endorsement of unlawful behavior or public disorder. The right to peacefully protest is protected, as is the right to exercise one’s religious beliefs. Balancing these equally important rights is paramount to our decision today. However, acts of violence, property destruction, or threats to public safety – none of which occurred here – remain serious concerns an...

Brian O'Hara is fired, then replaced by Katie Blackwell, who was then replaced by Bill Peterson

Image
It doesn't require Elon Musk to figure out why Sen. Klobuchar picked the former mmayor of Fergus Falls as her running mate instead of picking Jacob Frey. According to Alpha News's reporting , "Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey announced Tuesday that First Precinct Inspector Bill Peterson will serve as interim chief of the police department following the resignation of former Chief Brian O’Hara." In between Peterson's failure and O'Hara's firing, "Frey said in an email to the police department that Assistant Chief Katie Blackwell would serve as acting chief effective immediately." In the letter, Frey wrote "I am confident in her ability to provide steady leadership for the department moving forward." The question now isn't whether Frey had confidence in Blackwell's leadership abilities. The question now should be whether people should have confidence in Frey's ability to pick and develop talent. I think he's sorely lacking in ...

Lisa Demuth competes in GOP primary

Image
It's now official. GOP Speaker Lisa Demuth has officially entered the GOP Primary to become Minnesota's next governor. Throughout the campaign, Speaker Demuth maintained that she'd abide by the State Convention's endorsement. That was her intent throughout until the electronic voting devices didn't work. According to this Fox9 article , though, Fox9 reports that "In a statement, Plechash acknowledged that the disruption created confusion among delegates, campaigns and observers, and extended what was already a lengthy process. 'I believe it is appropriate to make clear that any gubernatorial candidate who agreed to abide by the endorsement, should not be treated as bound by that pledge. Those candidates may make their own decision about whether to continue their campaign into the primary. That decision does not change the party's position." This is the right compromise considering the voting devices malfunctioning. Kendall Qualls got 60.6% of the ...

Special Report: Amy Klobuchar's temper flares again

Image
During Sen. Klobuchar's presidential run in 2020, the national media took note of Sen. Klobuchar's temper and the hostile work environment her office represented. Thanks to Michelle Griffith's reporting for the Minnesota Reformer, we now know that Sen. Klobuchar's temper is still intact. Ms. Griffith reported "While backstage at the Democratic-Farmer-Labor convention Friday night, Sen. Amy Klobuchar loudly declared her frustration and said she was going to abandon the convention after delegates nominated a 26-year-old progressive activist as an alternative to Klobuchar for Minnesota governor, according to two people who overheard the senator’s remarks. The two DFL activists were granted anonymity because they weren’t authorized to speak publicly about what they witnessed backstage and fear reprisals from the Klobuchar camp." The Queen's Coronation? Going into Friday night at the DFL Convention, I'd heard that Sen. Klobuchar was expecting a DFL coronat...

Dustin Grage's reports from GOP Convention

Image
After reading this tweet , I learned that the MNGOP "released the candidates from their pledges to abide by the endorsement." This isn't doing the right thing but it's a good first step in apologizing for thoroughly screwing up last weekend's State Convention. In that same tweet, Grage wrote "The convention was an absolute farce. Kendall Qualls only took the lead during an anomaly that they later thought they solved." We'll see how this affects the GOP's primaries. Obviously, it isn't a matter of whether this reporting will affect the primary. It's a matter of HOW it'll affect the primaries. Dustin Grage is also reporting "All of the right people are upset that Lisa Demuth and Ryan Wilson are going to jump into the Republican Primary soon. We’re going to win." I'm betting that "one of the right people" that Mr. Grage is talking about is Michael Brodkorb. Last night, Brodkorb tweeted this: 🗳️ Take: The MNGOP ...

Was Jill Biden an activist First Lady?

It's tired me out watching Jill Biden and KJP lie to us about Joe's painfully obvious dementia.
