Iran returns to acting like a terrorist again
The U.S.-Iran MOU is off to a rocky start. According to David Strom's HotAir article, Iran plans on requiring shipping insurance to "the Persian Gulf Strait Authority, which will allow you to transit the Strait—after considering your application to do so—if you pay insurance fees to it." That sounds like Iran isn't changing its ways, which is what I've been preaching for 2+ months. The U.S. had their foot on Iran's throat before agreeing the first cease-fire.
That's the first signal that Iran read as weakness. Now the talk is that President Trump is interested in a negotiated settlement. That's another appeasement signal to Iran. If the U.S. continues sending those appeasement signals, we will fritter away whatever leverage we've had.
Further, it isn't wise for V.P J.D. Vance to threaten Israel's cabinet like he did yesterday:
Thus far, VP Vance's instincts on national security/foreign policy have been questionable. At this point, I prefer SecState Rubio and Gov. DeSantis over VP Vance for POTUS and it isn't that close. This won't happen but it's time for President Trump to finish off Iran. They aren't trustworthy and never will be. Yesterday, VP Vance asked what we had to lose by talking to Iran. Today, I'll answer him. It's a waste of time. Iran hasn't changed in 1,000+ years. This theocracy will never changeBREAKING: Iran has declared that ships cannot cross the Strait of Hormuz without its permission, setting the stage for future tolling arrangements by saying it could introduce “insurance fees," per Bloomberg.
