Minneapolis: soft-on-crime & lacking leadership
DFL Gov. Tim Walz loves touting fake polls like saying Minnesota is a great place to do business, has great schools and is a great place to raise a family. This Alpha News article highlights Minneapolis's deficiencies. Minneapolis isn't a great place to raise a family because they still haven't complied with a Minnesota Supreme Court ruling that requires Minneapolis to add 100 police officers because the Court ruled they're "still more than 100 short of the minimum legally required officer count!" If Jacob Frey was a legitimate leader, he would've gotten those officers hired. According to this Alpha News article, the initial ruling was handed down in 2022. Having 4 years to hire 100 officers is plenty of time.
According to the initial article, "The concerns also follow a lawsuit filed by the Upper Midwest Law Center (UMLC), which alleged that Minneapolis failed to comply with the Minnesota Supreme Court’s ruling in the Spann v. Minneapolis City Council case." The article reports "This case is about enforcing the law as written and as already interpreted by the Minnesota Supreme Court,' said Doug Seaton, president of UMLC. 'The Mayor does not have discretion to ignore the City Charter. Minneapolis residents are entitled to the police protection the law requires, and after years of noncompliance, the court must now enforce that duty.'" The statements in this report are disgusting:
Jacob Frey isn't the only guilty party. The Minneapolis City Council also failed, perhaps intentionally.
