Why it's imperative to elect Bernie Perryman, not Aric Putnam

This afternoon, I got into a nice phone call with Bernie Perryman, the legislator that I hope replaces Aric Putnam in the Minnesota State Senate for SD-14. I've known Bernie since 2010, when we both played unofficial roles in Michele Bachmann's congressional campaign. Minnesota's economy used to be vibrant, bristling with innovation and productivity. These days, thanks to a big influx of socialism, a high regulatory regime and high taxes, Minnesota's economy has stagnated. Thanks in large part to high property taxes caused by unfunded mandates to schools, Minnesota is one of the worst states in terms of affordability.

Bernie is a small businessperson who knows how to get the economy running again. On her campaign website, Bernie wrote "As a small business owner, I know how hard it’s been for our Main Street businesses to survive and get their legs back under them after the pandemic. Inflation, supply chain and workforce challenges, and gas prices all are putting a squeeze on all businesses. I will put my experience as a business owner to work to promote a healthy business environment that will generate good jobs that can support Central Minnesota families. I will focus on accountability and transparency with government spending – valuing every dollar and cutting every penny of waste and fraud."

One thing that we talked about is that only capitalist systems create a thriving middle class. There's never been a thriving middle class in a socialist nation. Without people pursuing their interests, there isn't innovation or productivity increases. Socialist nations tamp down competition, further hurting profitability and the creation of generational wealth. Check this out:

Capitalism requires capital, hence the name. Socialism, by contrast, requires a police state capable of forcing people to do things they don't want to do. Obamacare is the perfect illustration of socialism in action. We were told that we could keep our plan if we liked it. That wasn't true. Politifact called the statement their lie of the year.

Bernie Perryman will represent the people of SD-14. Aric Putnam has shown that he's represented the DFL. Give me Rep. Perryman over State Sen. Putnam anytime.

Minnesota Department of Education admits it's corrupt

I couldn't help but smile when I read the headline to this article . The title is "BREAKING: Minnesota Department of Education to strengthen hiring practices — after Alpha News reports." Thank God for well-run government agencies. Under DFL management, the Minnesota Department of Education, aka MDE, has turned inot an embarassment. Thank God Alpha News takes oversight seriously. Alpha News reports that "The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) says it will now require criminal background checks for “all new hires” and is working to adopt tougher hiring policies—after Alpha News’ exclusive reporting on a convicted sex offender’s employment in a high-level state role."
