Barack Obama still selling Scranton Joe Biden

Image
Bless Barack Obama's heart. He still thinks we're buying into Joe Biden's Scranton Joe imagery. I'd hoped that he'd realized that we aren't buying into Joe's "we were dirt poor when I was a kid" story. The Biden Crime Syndicate Scandal has shown us who the Bidens are. The last thing I'd buy is that they're a family with a heart of gold. Anyone that totally ignores one of their grandchildren doesn't have a heart of gold. They have a heart of stone. But I digress. Obama published this tweet in an attempt to spin Biden's terrible debate performance. In the tweet, Obama wrote "Bad debate nights happen. Trust me, I know. But this election is still a choice between someone who has fought for ordinary folks his entire life and someone who only cares about himself. Between someone who tells the truth; who knows right from wrong and will give it to the American people straight — and someone who lies through his teeth for his own benefi...

Joe Biden vs. Donald Trump: debate of the century or dud of the century?

Image
Minutes after last night's debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, Democrats were worried whether they'd need to replace Joe Biden on their ticket. CNN and MSNBC went into panic mode. Joe Biden's performance was that terrible. Politico is reporting "President Biden hoped to build fresh momentum for his re-election bid by agreeing to debate two months before he is formally nominated. Instead, his halting and disjointed performance on Thursday night prompted a wave of panic among Democrats and reopened discussion of whether he should be the nominee at all." This started a month ago when Biden invited Trump to debate -- if Trump agreed to walk into the lion's den, aka CNN. I wrote this post in an attempt to inoculate himself from debates. An hour after Biden put out the invitation, Trump accepted. Since then, I've told many friends that, at that moment, Team Biden likely looked like the dog that caught the car. In other words, that's the last thing t...

Are Joe Biden's Nobel Laureate economists bought and paid for?

Image
Joe Biden is doing everything possible to convince the American people that Bidenomics actually works. HINT: It doesn't. On the day of CNN's debate, 16 Nobel "Prize-winning economists have signed a public letter in advance of Thursday’s presidential debate endorsing President Biden’s economic policies and criticizing Donald Trump’s." Considering the effects of Bidenflation, these Nobel Prize-winning economists' opinions plus a dollar are worth fifty cents. What these Nobel-winning economists said is mind-boggling. In their letter, these economists wrote "While each of us has different views on the particulars of various economic policies, we all agree that Joe Biden’s economic agenda is vastly superior to Donald Trump’s. In his first four years as President, Joe Biden signed into law major investments in the U.S. economy, including in infrastructure, domestic manufacturing, and climate. Together, these investments are likely to increase productivity and econ...

Examining the Quinnipiac Poll

Image
I hope Joe Biden reads this Quinnipiac poll before tonight's debate. If nothing else, it'll put additional pressure on Joe to perform above expectations. The trouble for Biden starts in Q1, which asks the question "If the election for president were being held today, and the candidates were Joe Biden the Democrat and Donald Trump the Republican, for whom would you vote? (INCLUDES LEANERS)." Trump finishes with 49% while Biden finishes with 45%. That isn't the part that should give Biden heartburn, though. Inside that question, it says that 53% of women prefer Biden while 40% of women picked Trump. Also inside that question, we find that 59% of men pick men while 37% of men prefer Biden. That's a 22-point gap in Trump's favor with men. Meanwhile, Biden only has a 13-point lead with women. A 9-point lead in Trump's favor on gender is, putting it mildly, significant. Q2 asks "If the election for president were being held today, and the candidates w...

Exposing the Trump-Biden expectations game

Image
This week, the talk of the town centers on the CNN presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Part of the attention surrounding the debate focuses on what's often called the expectations game. It's a DC parlor game but it isn't particularly useful for undecided voters. Finding out who did better than expected isn't that important. Finding out who didn't meet expectations isn't helpful, either. My Expectations I won't play the expectations game that DC plays. With me, I'm interested in Trump's and Biden's policies. I'm also interested in seeing which man has the right temperament. Finally, I'm interested in seeing who can handle complex situations, though I doubt if we'll see that Thursday night. What I'm watching for- Trump Which Trump shows up? The hot Trump that showed up for the first debate in 2020? Or the Trump from Philadelphia last weekend? If it's the Philadelphia Trump, this race is finished. That Trump k...

What will Jake Tapper and Dana Bash ask Joe Biden about border security?

Image
When Martha Raddatz interviewed Elizabeth Warren on This Week about border security, Warren didn't have a straight answer. Sen. Warren just started spinning . First, Raddatz asked Warren "President Biden, I know he wanted that immigration bill to pass, that bipartisan, but there have been more than 6.9 million apprehensions at the southern border thus far in Biden’s term. There were just over two million in Donald Trump’s entire term. What did the president do wrong?" That startled Sen. Warren, who replied "No, this isn’t about what the president did wrong. Remember, on the very first day that he was sworn into office, President Biden asked Congress both for the resources and for comprehensive immigration reform. The Republicans blocked it, blocked it, blocked it, blocked it. Until last fall—" Raddatz interrupted, replying "But Donald Trump didn’t have that either, Senator. He didn’t have that either and there were two million during his entire term." ...

Donald Trump's 'Return of Hope' Speech

Image
Saturday evening in Philadelphia, PA, Donald Trump delivered the best speech of his political career. For the first 45 minutes of the speech, Trump focused like a laser on migrant crime and illegal immigration. During the first 45 minutes, Trump told the excited audience that he'd shut the border on Day One. Thanks to the Democrats' unwillingness to shut the border, Trump said that the people are weary of all the Migrant Crime. Trump said that the people need hope. Then he implied that he's there to restore hope to the people. This was, by far, Trump's best speech in over 4 years. During 2020, I stopped watching Trump's speeches because they were lengthy, rambling, incoherent messes that didn't focus on what the people wanted to hear. Last night's speech, which I'm titling Trump's Return of Hope Speech, first laid out why the people are feeling weary. Trump told the story of an illegal alien "who Joe Biden set loose into our country approach...

Joe Biden's heartless pro forma statements on families' grief

Image
This week was a terrible week for Joe Biden when the subject was illegal aliens and heinous violence. It couldn't have gotten much worse for Biden in that respect. RedState's Nick Arana wrote this article 'highlighting' the Administration's official statements on the murders of Rachel Morin, the 37-year-old Maryland mother of 5 and 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray. Both were allegedly murdered by illegal aliens. According to this tweet , the official statement on Rachel Morin's murder couldn't be more impersonal. It said "We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Rachel Morin. We cannot comment on active law enforcement cases. But fundamentally, we believe that people should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law if they are found to be guilty." Notice the similarity with the statement on Jocelyn Nungaray's murder: Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of Jocelyn Nungaray. We cannot comment on active...

Thursday's presidential debate expectations game

Image
If ever there was a DC parlor game that highlights how out-of-touch DC is, it's the presidential debate expectation game.  What a bunch of foolishness. Who cares if Candidate A did better than expected? Who cares if Candidate B did worse than expected? The only thing I care about is whether the candidate looked up for the job. What I'll be watching for Trump With Trump, I'm watching for whether he's poised. Thus far, when he's talked at the court at the start of the court day and at the end of the day, Trump has been short, concise and to the point. He's gotten straight to the point. He's been very substantive. I'll be watching to see if Trump gets asked a question on immigration. If Tapper and Bash don't ask Trump about immigration, I'd hope he'd go off-script to talk about the subject.  Perhaps, I'd wait until my closing statement to highlight the fact that Tapper and Bash didn't ask a single question about such an important topic. ...

Busting Joe Biden's border bamboozle

Image
Tuesday, Joe Biden issued this fact-sheet on his new executive action on illegal immigration. Biden literally started lying in the first sentence, which said "Since his first day in office, President Biden has called on Congress to secure our border and address our broken immigration system." Saying that Joe Biden wants secure borders is like saying that arsonists want well-funded, well-trained fire departments. It's like saying that Ilhan Omar wants a well-staffed, well-trained police department. Joe Biden campaigned against secure borders. Does this sound like a secured borders activist? It sounds like an open borders activist to me. Customs and Border Protection (from this point forward, CBP) keeps statistics on illegal border crossings by fiscal year (FY). The last year of Donald Trump's administration was FY2020. That year, CBP reported illegal border crossings at 458,000. In the first year of the Biden administration (FY2021), CBP reported 1,750,000 illegal bo...

Is the IRS retaliating against Gary Shapley, Joseph Ziegler, IRS whistleblowers?

Image
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.), Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La., Jim Jordan, Jamie Comer and Jason Smith, the chairmen of the House Judiciary Committee, House Oversight Committee and House Ways and Means Committee, respectively, have started an investigation into the Office of Special Counsel. These chairmen, along with Speaker Johnson and Majority Leader Scalise, have issued this joint letter asking for information on "whether the U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC) has contributed to the retaliation against IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler." Specifically, "the House Republican leaders are seeking a briefing to determine whether there has been improper influence in the IRS whistleblowers’ claims pending before OSC." These GOP leaders didn't stop there. They continued their letter, saying "IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler have been wholly consistent in their testimony about misconduct and politicization ...

Leader of the Free World is a full-time job

Image
By now, people have figured out that Joe Biden sometimes has moments of lucidity followed by moments where he looks like he doesn't know his own name. This article isn't meant as a 'Gee, I feel sorry for the old codger.' It isn't even meant as a criticism of Jill Biden's blatant elder abuse. This is too serious for that. If Jill Biden won't admit that Joe's lights aren't even on anymore (as in 'the lights are on but nobody's home'), and if Democrats won't admit that Joe's frozen on the world stage multiple times, then it's time for We The People to take things into our hands and push Biden off the world stage. I suspect that the reason why Jill Biden won't admit that Joe's finished is because the family is screwed if the 'Big Guy' isn't available for influence peddling operations. Without Joe, the Biden's racket disappears. Further, without Joe, there goes their protection from prosecution. But I digres...

Mike Johnson vs. Merrick Garland, contempt of Congress edition

Image
Before he became the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson was an attorney working in private practice. He also worked for the Alliance Defending Freedom. The point is that he knows his way around the U.S. legal system. That's worth noting since Speaker Johnson announced that he'd "move in federal court to enforce a subpoena against Attorney General Merrick Garland to obtain audio recordings of President Joe Biden, after the Justice Department declined to act on the House’s contempt referral." The DOJ will lose this fight because they're carrying the light stick in this fight. First, the DOJ replied in its letter that "Consistent with this longstanding position and uniform practice, the Department has determined that the responses by Attorney General Garland to the subpoenas issued by the Committees did not constitute a crime, and accordingly the Department will not bring the congressional contempt citation before a grand jury or take any other action to prosec...

Steve Grove's unethical advice for Tim Walz

Image
According to this Minnesota Reformer article , Steve Grove, "the top executive at the Star Tribune and former commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, offered advice and compliments to Gov. Tim Walz’s office after his departure from the governor’s cabinet." Simply put, Grove didn't really leave DEED. The Strib and Gov. Walz's office sent statements rationalizing their continued connections with each other. The Strib's statement said "These personal texts were between two friends of nearly 20 years, and have no bearing on the business or editorial decisions of the Star Tribune. The Star Tribune’s continued independence is our top priority as we continue to produce quality journalism for Minnesota." What a pile of BS. Grove is a Democrat. His first priority is to further the DFL's agenda. If he's the CEO of the Strib, his first priority isn't to the Strib. It's to the DFL. Period. Jane Kirtley isn...

Highlighting Olivia Reingold's tenacity

Image
Wednesday night, Olivia Reingold went to New York City's Union Square to cover the so-called 'Pro-Palestinian protests.' They're really pro-Hamas or anti-Israel or antisemitic riots. I say this based on Ms. Reingold's article published in The Free Press. What Ms. Reingold wrote in the early part of the article isn't for the weak of stomach. Ms. Reingold wrote "I had been at this particular protest in Union Square for about 45 minutes, watching and taking notes, when a man wearing a neck gaiter, sunglasses, and a Hezbollah flag fashioned as a headscarf suddenly pointed at me. 'She’s a Zionist!' he shouted. 'Get her out of here.'" Then the article continued, saying "Immediately, dozens of protesters swarmed me, hoisting their keffiyehs high in the sky and boxing me in to block my view. Many of them were completely shrouded in keffiyehs and masks. A chorus of voices surrounded me, shoving me. 'Get the fuck out,' a woman yelle...

8 ISIS-related terrorists captured by ICE

Image
Thank God for Joe Biden's executive order. If not for Biden's EO, the border might still be open. If not for that timely EO, terrorists from Tajikistan and other terrorist-harboring countries might still be using Trump's open borders to enter the U.S. Thanks to Biden's serious approach to fighting terrorism, the U.S. is a safe nation. Truthfully, Biden has been a world class screw-up when it comes to national- and homeland-security. Truthfully, when Biden took office, the TX-Mex border was the most secure border it's been in my adult lifetime. All he had to do was nothing. Unfortunately, he failed at that. But I digress. USA Today is reporting that ICE "agents in recent days arrested eight foreign nationals in the U.S. suspected to have ties with the terrorist group ISIS, a U.S. official familiar with the investigation confirmed." All 8 allegedly were "fully vetted" when they illegally entered the U.S. Supposedly, these terrorists were caught at...

Hunter Biden's guilty verdict cheered by Republicans

Image
Pardon Republicans if they took extra delight when Judge Maryellen Noreikas told the world that the jury had returned 3 guilty verdicts against Hunter Biden Tuesday. Republicans realize that Democrats still are trigger happy in using the legal system against Republicans, especially those Republicans named Donald Trump. It isn't surprising that the 4 indictments against Trump are in New York, DC, Atlanta and Miami. Miami is the only city where Trump can get a fair trial. Special Counsel David Weiss took the opportunity to gloat , saying in part "This case was about the illegal choices the defendant made while in the throes of addiction — his choice to lie on a government form when he bought a gun and the choice to then possess that gun. It was these choices and the combination of guns and drugs that made his conduct dangerous." It wasn’t lost on well-informed people that Weiss had initially tried giving Hunter a sweetheart deal last summer. That deal was scuttled by Judge...

Gary Shapley, Joseph Ziegler, Jonathan Turley highlight 'Biden family values'

Image
Thank God for truth-tellers like Gary Shapley, Joseph Ziegler and Jonathan Turley for persistently not settling for the corporate media's lies about the Laptop From Hell. Let's start by proclaiming Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler as legitimate U.S. heroes. They're the IRS whistleblowers who stepped out of the sham investigation to highlight the Biden family's corruption. Further, let's admit that Jonathan Turley has highlighted the truth on his blog. Despite Big Tech's threats to shut down those who investigated Hunter's laptop, these people, with Miranda Devine doing most of the initial investigating, persisted in pushing out the truth. When Twitter shut down the NY Post's account over what it called hacked material, Devine took to Fox News to tell the story to push her investigative story out to the masses. Imagine being someone who watches ABC, CBS CNN or reads the Washington Post. Further, imagine rerading this from Jonathan Turley's blog : Watch...

Bill Melugin vs. Joe Biden, Alejandro Mayorkas, border security edition

Image
Anyone that thinks that Bill Melugin isn't the best in the business on border security issues hasn't taken the time to read Bill's latest tweet . Joe Biden's executive order hasn't been in effect a week yet. Still, Bill Melugin has figured it out that Biden's EO is BS. In his tweet, Melugin wrote "NEW: @FoxNews has obtained an internal Border Patrol memo sent to agents in San Diego sector after President Biden’s executive order took effect, instructing them to release single adults from all but six countries in the eastern hemisphere & classifying them as 'hard' or 'very hard' to remove." That almost sounds like the Biden administration isn't interested in stopping illegal aliens from entering the U.S. If only we had additional proof. Here's that additional proof In a background call with reporters, DHS officials acknowledged the difficulty of removing illegal immigrants from eastern hemisphere countries , as some government...

With Hunter Biden's trial, the facts aren't important

Image
According to Bill McGurn's latest column , evidence and truth aren't that important. He wrote "The two cases have one crucial fact in common. The law and the truth are incidental. They are important only for the Biden family story lines each case represents." Hunter's laptop, the one that 51 former top spies "has the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation", was introduced into evidence in Hunter's trial by an FBI agent. The FBI agent verified that the contents weren't tampered with and it was Hunter's laptop. As this article states , "the 51 former 'intelligence' officials who cast doubt on The Post’s Hunter Biden laptop stories in a public letter really were just desperate to get Joe Biden elected president. And more than a year later, even after their Deep State sabotage has been shown again and again to be a lie, they refuse to own up to how they undermined an election." That article led to this famous NY Pos...

The Trump fundraising machine keeps rolling

Until just recently, I didn't know that much about David Sacks. I now know that he's one of the co-founders of Craft Ventures. Thanks to this tweet , I now know that Sacks has endorsed President Trump and stated why he's endoring Trump. According to the tweet, Sacks supports Trump because of the economy, foreign policy/Ukraine, border security and the issue of lawfare . Thanks to this Fox Business article , I now know that Mr. Sacks is using his position in Silicon Valley to build an impressive campaign warchest for Mr. Trump's campaign. First, let's talk about why Sacks supports Trump. On the economy, Sacks wrote " President Biden took over an economy that was already recovering strongly from the Covid-induced shock of Q2 2020. Demand had roared back, and employment had recovered. But he chose to keep priming the pump with unnecessary Covid stimulus – almost $2 trillion of it, passed on a straight party-line vote in March of 2021, with trillions more to follo...

Is Donald Trump's verdict in jeopardy?

Image
Politico is reporting that "Justice Juan Merchan informed prosecutors and Donald Trump’s attorneys on Friday about a newly discovered post on the New York court system’s Facebook page from a user who claimed to be the cousin of a juror." This is a potentially big deal. According to Politico's reporting, "jurors were under strict orders from the judge not to discuss the case with anyone while the trial was ongoing." The fact that Justice Merchan was obligated to inform prosecutors and Trump's defense team indicates a serious breach in trial protocol. At minimum, this raises due process questions. What becomes of this is anyone's guess but investigating this is essential. Is this written by a juror or troll? Did jurors start deliberating before closing arguments were given? Had the defense finished presenting its evidence to the jury? Remember that the end of the defense was riddled with controversy over who could testify and what they could testify about...

Christina Barton vs. Rochester Public Schools

Image
Apparently, Rochester Public Schools doesn't like getting called out for its trans agenda. Allegedly, Christina Barton decided to speak out against RPS transgender guidelines . According the Alpha News' article, "In April, Barton spoke to Alpha News about Rochester Public Schools’ embrace of left-wing gender ideology. Specifically, Barton said the district implemented 'administrative guidelines' relating to transgenderism without informing parents. Barton became concerned that the failure to alert the public to these guidelines would result in parents not receiving important information about their children’s activities in school." Since then, Barton allegedly "has been kicked out of her union and the school board voted against renewing her contract." I'm saying allegedly because RPS issued a statement saying, in part, "Rochester Public Schools said it cannot share the reasons it chose not to renew Barton’s contract." RPS must think th...

Donald Trump's historic fundraising haul

Image
Pundits and talk show hosts have gone back-and-forth on whether last week's verdict in the Trump Hush Money Trial helped Donald Trump, hurt Donald Trump or didn't make a difference. I immediately opined that it was like rocket fuel to the Trump campaign. Apparently, Hugh Hewitt reached the same conclusion . Hugh wrote "If you aren’t stunned by the $70 million+ in "small dollar" campaign contributions to the campaign of former President Donald Trump that were made in the first 72 hours after the verdicts in his Manhattan trial, then you don’t know much about politics, because nothing like this sort of fundraising weekend has ever happened before." This weekend, it was reported that 30% of the WinRed contributions were first-time contributors. It was also reported that 485,000 individual donors had contributed to the first $35,000,000 contributed. That's 142,000 new Trump voters. That's enough voters to surpass the Trump margin of victory over Hillary ...

Joe Biden's border trickery

Image
I'm beginning to think that Joe Biden doesn't remember Peter Doocy questioning Alejandro Mayorkas on border security. The average news consumer certainly remembers this exchange: In other words, Mayorkas essentially said that they wouldn't open the international borders completely. They'd just open our borders 85%-90% of the way. That isn't much relief. Does Biden think only some of the gangs come in? Apparently he doesn't care if violent gangs get into the nation. NBC is reporting "Under the new policy, anytime the seven-day average of illegal border crossings breaches 2,500, migrants entering the U.S. between legal ports of entry, with some exceptions , will be banned from claiming asylum and deported." What NBC isn't reporting is whether the Biden administration is moving the border patrol to the actual border with instructions to stop entirely these illegal aliens. If that isn't part of Biden's instructions, then this is just a game i...

Introducing Melvin Carter, Minnesota's deadbeat mayor

Minnesota should be proud. Apparently, we're the only state that has a deadbeat mayor. Let's introduce the world to Melvin Carter, Minnesota's deadbeat mayor : Watch the latest video at foxnews.com . Acccording to the article, "Carter proudly declared on Wednesday that his student loans had officially been canceled." Congratulations, Mayor Carter. Not only are you a deadbeat but you don't think you have to live by the Supreme Court's rulings: Thank you, Mr. President! https://t.co/SjaNekU3ra pic.twitter.com/mQeqm2nt9X — Melvin Carter (@melvincarter3) May 30, 2024 When Carter thanked Joe Biden for 'canceling' his debt, he attached his tweet to Grandpa Deadbeat's tweet that highlights that Biden is proud of ignoring the Supreme Court's ruling prohibiting him from canceling student loan debt without an act of Congress. I guess it's true. Deadbeats of a feather flock together. They're both Democrats. They're both into pretending t...

Mary Moriarty: Minneapolis's major disgrace

Image
When Mary Moriarty was elected to be Hennepin County Attorney, it didn't take long to figure out that she was an affirmative action hire. Rather than elect someone that's qualified, they elected a woman who is openly queer. Apparently, being queer is Moriarty's biggest qualification. Gathering evidence, both incriminating and exculpatory, definitely isn't her greatest qualification. Early in this news conference , Chris Madel, State Trooper Ryan Londregan's attorney, said "What I heard today at this press conference was 'Oh my gosh, there's all this new evidence that the defense put in front of us. We had no idea that Ryan Londregan was actually acting to save a partner." This was the 'notice of defense' we filed with the court on the date that Ryan Londregan was charged (Date: 1/24/24). This is found 3:40 into the video. The notice of defense says "As will be shown at trial (if trial proves to be necessary), Trooper Londregan employed...

Why Donald Trump's appeal must go to the Supreme Court

Image
Donald Trump's appeal of the sham verdict must go to the Supreme Court. I've heard the arguments why this appeal aren't likely to be successful. That's irrelevant. Before submitting the appeal, I'd mount a PR campaign that pressures the justices into hearing the case this summer. The first argument would be that this isn't just any civil rights case. This is the lawsuit that's aimed at elininating the verdict of a trial meant to interfere with this year's presidential election. First, this verdict must be overturned because, otherwise, municipal courts would be given the authority to determine presidential elections. Presidential elections should be determined by voters, not crooked judges and partisan DAs. Next, if President Trump's appeal follows the traditional path, the damage would be done by the time it reaches SCOTUS. That isn't acceptable. Period. By then, Joe Biden's second term might already have started. Team Biden's' stra...
