Busting Joe Biden's border bamboozle
Customs and Border Protection (from this point forward, CBP) keeps statistics on illegal border crossings by fiscal year (FY). The last year of Donald Trump's administration was FY2020. That year, CBP reported illegal border crossings at 458,000. In the first year of the Biden administration (FY2021), CBP reported 1,750,000 illegal border crossings. In FY2022, CBP reported 2,370,000 illegal border crossings. CBP reported 2,475,000 illegal border crossings for FY2023. Just for some perspective on these statistics, the Biden administration has the 3 biggest border crossings years in DHS history. In fact, no other administration topped 1,000,000 in a fiscal year.
President Biden has called on Congress to secure our border
The Day One immigration reform plan that the President sent to Congress reflects both the need for a secure border and protections for the long-term undocumented.Let's understand this. Biden didn't propose a Ted Cruz-Chip Roy-Donald Trump-type bill. He proposed an open borders bill. If his goal is to open the borders, why would he want anything that secures the border? This is what Biden said at on of the DNC-sanctioned debates: That sounds like an open borders activist, doesn't it? This doesn't have anything to do with applying for asylum. These candidates know that if a person says the magic words, they're given a court date years into the future. These candidates also know that 90+ percent of asylum applications are rejected. With a Democrat president, though, to relax or not enforce the laws, you wind up with a massive invitation into the U.S.
U.S. v. TX
The DOJ filed a lawsuit in its attempt to prevent Texas from protecting itself:
The Justice Department today filed suit against the State of Texas to challenge Senate Bill 4 (SB 4) under the U.S. Constitution’s Supremacy Clause and Foreign Commerce Clause. The Constitution assigns the federal government the authority to regulate immigration and manage our international borders. The Constitution gives states the right to step around the Supremacy Clause when there is an invasion. Why would a secure borders activist sue a state for wanting its borders secure?
The Biden administration started with a lie in its opening sentence. I'm betting most people think that's par for the course.
