BREAKING NEWS: counterfeit ballot alert in Minnesota

Image
How Difficult Should it be to Get a Ballot? By John W. Palmer November 4, 2024 Securing an official ballot for your ward and precinct normally requires registration to vote and either showing up at a polling place or securing an absentee ballot. Ballot security is a cornerstone of an election free of fraud. When the tailgate of a vehicle was left open and unattended revealing a large stack of blank ballots, Minnesotans were appalled. Imagine how you would feel when you learn that all it takes to get a reproducible ballot for your ward and precinct is to download a file from a government website. In Stearns and several other Minnesota counties, imagination is not needed. Right now, all you have to do is go to Minnesota’s Secretary of State’s website and download a file. Go to this website and select “Get a sample ballot”. Then enter your zip code and address and your ballot appears. Now you are able to download the ballot as a PDF file. Once you have the PDF file you can print as many

Election 2024: Now it's up to We The People

Image
As the final hours drain from the hourglass on Election 2024, the Trump campaign and others have put together some compelling closing argument ads to inspire us. Nicole Shanahan, RFK Jr.'s onetime running mate, put together this ad to X. Steve Cortes posted this ad on X. Both ads are inspirational. They remind us that dreaming big is what Americans do. Then we achieve those big dreams. That's part of what I call our American DNA. That's who we've been for 200+ years. Pessimists see problems. Optimists see challenges to be met. When DHS Secretary Mayorkas was asked about the crisis on the border, he downplayed it, characterizing it as a challenge. That's because he didn't intend to fix the Biden-Harris administration's open border. The Biden-Harris administration wanted oppen borders. This wasn't a mistake. It was a feature. Donald Trump has run a fantastic campaign. Aside from Harris getting under his skin at their debate, he's stayed pretty discip

Proof that North Carolinians are resilient

Image
If anyone needed proof that North Carolinians were resilient, just read this on-the-ground report from the Blaze. It opens by jumping straight into the lede, saying "The devastation of Hurricane Helene has not dampened the spirits — or suppressed early voting turnout — in storm-ravaged western North Carolina." From the first days of early voting, it was clear that Hurricane Helene hadn't dampened North Carolinians' spirit. The first of early voting set a record for turnout, mostly from storm-ravaged western North Carolina. Unlike FEMA, which was slow to respond to the catastrophe, Samaritan's Purse and other charities jumped right in. The North Carolina Board of Elections voted 5-0 in favor of being flexible in getting ballots to displaced Carolinians. Imagine that -- a government that actually serves its constituents. Someone should import these hillbillies into the Biden administration. Better yet, replace the Biden administration FEMA people with these folks.

Tim Walz & Brian Lozenski, partners in radical education edition

Image
Apparently, Gov. Tim Walz is far more radical than his public persona portrays. According to this article , the Minnesota Department of Education hired an anti-American activist who has been quoted as saying "The first tenet of critical race theory [CRT] is that the United States, as constructed, is irreversibly racist. So, if the nation-state, as constructed, is irreversibly racist, then it must be done with. It must be overthrown, right?” They hirerd him to be part of MDE's "Ethnic Studies Working Group," which is tasked with finalizing "a new ethnic studies framework." According to Doug Seaton, the "president of the [Upper Midwest Law Center, aka UMLC]," "We believe Minnesota students deserve an education grounded in truth, not a radical rewriting of history. Parents and taxpayers have the right to transparency and accountability from the Department of Education to ensure that classrooms foster genuine learning—not politically motivated na

Will Donald Trump win Pennsylvania because of the missed undercurrent?

Image
In Salena Zito's latest article , she wrote about President Trump's rally in Latrobe, PA, the home of golfing legend Arnold Palmer. In the article, she wroote about David Urban, whom she desribed as "a western Pennsylvania native, West Point graduate, and former chief of staff to the late Arlen Specter, a Republican senator who changed his party to Democrat in 2010 but lost in the Democratic primary, was a senior adviser to Trump." Urban, she wrote, "understood the importance of the smaller counties outside of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, explaining that there was an untapped center-right constituency in those counties that could sway the election for Trump over Hillary Clinton." Trump trusted Urban and did what Urban told him to do. That led to Trump's upset of Hillary in Pennsylvania in 2016. Zito's article continues with her writing "The same holds true for today. In 2020, President Joe Biden was able to cut into those margins with the workin

Kamala Harris's sputtering campaign as it nears the finish line

Image
Back in the 1970s, there was a country-western show called Hee-Haw. A regular part of the show featured a song with a chorus that went "If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. Gloom, despair and agony on me." The reason I bring it up is because it fits the Harris-Walz campaign perfectly: Prior to Trump's Madison Square Garden rally, Democrats called Republicans Nazis. Then Joe Biden called Trump's supporters "garbage" while Kamala Harris delivered her closing argument speech at the Ellipse just a stone's throw from the Oval Office. Later this week, Harris surrogate Mark Cuban told the ladies (I use that term loosely) of the View that Trump won't surround himself with strong women. Ever. If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. I've often thought that bad luck was caused by not thinking things through thoroughly. I've thought often whether Biden's outburst was to protect VP Harris. Her closing argu
