Joe Biden's open borders vs. Trump's shut borders

For nearly 2 years, the Biden administration insisted that the border was shut and Mexico had done their part in securing the U.S.-Mexico border. Nothing illustrates the Biden administration's dishonesty than this tweet announcing Trump tariffs on Canada, China and Mexico and this tweet announcing President-Elect Trump's phone conversation with Claudia Sheinbaum-Pardo, Mexico's president.

In his tweet about Biden's open borders, Trump tweeted "As everyone is aware, thousands of people are pouring in through Mexico and Canada, bringing crime and drugs at levels never seen before. ... On Jan. 20, as one of my many first Executive Orders, I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% tariff on all products into the United States and its ridiculous open borders. This tariff will remain in effect until such time as drugs, in particular Fentanyl, and all illegal aliens stop this invasion of our country. Here is the tweet announcing the tariffs:

Here's the tweet about President Elect Trump's conversation with President Scheinbaum: President Trump wasn't afraid to use tariffs as a leverage tool. President-Elect Trump isn't afraid to use them that way, either:

It's time for U.S. presidents to start thinking outside the box. It's also time for them to stop doing things the same way without thinking. Keep doing things the same way because it's working. Ditch things that you've tried that've failed.

When the subject turns to the Palestinians, Democrats immediately think 'two-state solution' despite the fact that it's repeatedly failed. Democrat traditionalists (think John Kerry) insist that peace in the Middle East isn't possible unless you first solve the Israel-PLO problem first. President Trump didn't accept that premise. Instead, he started the Abraham Acccords initiative. The Abraham Accords look promising at minimum.

President-Elect Trump isn't afraid to dod things that otehr presidents haven't been willing to do. In his final speech to the nation from the Oval Office, Reagan said this exceptionally applicable statement:

Well, back in 1980, when I was running for President, it was all so different. Some pundits said our programs would result in catastrophe. Our views on foreign affairs would cause war. Our plans for the economy would cause inflation to soar and bring about economic collapse. I even remember one highly respected economist saying, back in 1982, that "The engines of economic growth have shut down here, and they're likely to stay that way for years to come." Well, he and the other opinion leaders were wrong. The fact is, what they called "radical" was really "right." What they called "dangerous" was just "desperately needed."
Thankfully, the election is in the nation's rear-view mirror. Thankfully, President-Elect Trump won't hesitate in doing the non-traditional if the traditional isn't working. Thankfully, PResident-Elect Trump has put together a fantastic administration to implement his policies.
