AOC calls for defunding ICE

Image
Despite the fact that AOC is the leading candidate for the Democrat nomination for president , she isn't gaining traction with the public. At this point, AOC is extolling the virtues of ending ICE . The White House fired back, highlighting the cartel members and gangbangers that've killed or raped New Yorkers. For instance, Julian Lema Bravo is "an Ecuadorian national with a conviction for rape of a victim less than 15-years-old." That's just one example. Another example is " Luis Alejandro Castillo-Torres , a Venezuelan national and Tren de Aragua gang member with a conviction for felony assault and arrests for multiple counts of assault, robbery, and criminal possession of a weapon." These are just a pair of the people that AOC wants roaming NYC's streets. Without ICE, who's there to arrest and deport them? remember that AOC wanted to defund the police, too. If you thought Joe Biden was a scatterbrain, AOC makes him look like Einstein, with t...

Ruy Teixeira explains Hispanic exodus from Democrats

Image
Right after Barack Obama's victory in the 2008 presidential election Ruy Teixeira joined with John Judis to write "The Emerging Democratic Majority." Since the start of Substack, Teixeira has written more than a few Substack articles explaining Hispanics' exodus from the Democrat Party. This article is written for the Liberal Patriot but it's in keeping with Teixeira's Substack articles. Teixeira didn't bury the lede, opening the article by saying "The release of the new data and report from Catalist has underscored the extent of Hispanic defection from the Democrats over the last two presidential cycles. We’ve seen massive drops in Democratic support from pretty much every subgroup of Hispanics, albeit with some variation: working-class Hispanics more than the college-educated, women (interestingly) more than men, younger Hispanics more than older ones, and urban residents more than those in the suburbs. But all the defections have been substantial—...

Donald Trump, Jack Brewer vs. Keith Ellison, Tim Walz, Title IX edition

Image
Keith Ellison and Tim Walz, Minnesota's DFL Attorney General and DFL Governor respectively, decided to sue President Trump in their attempt to eliminate girls and women's rights under Title IX. If successful, Walz's and Ellison's lawsuit would eliminate rights granted to women when Title IX was passed over 50 years ago. The key paragraph in Title IX says "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance[.]" When women aren't awarded scholarships because biological males have placed higher than, for instance, Riley Gaines in a specific sport, how is that different than there only being men sports where women don't have ma realistic shot at winning? That's the world that existed pre-Title IX. Keith Ellison isn't worried about protecting women's civil rights....

Donald Trump's 'Putin problem'

Image
About a week ago, President Trump said that he doesn't have permanent enemies. It's time that President Trump started that permanent enemies list after getting played by President Putin. Anyone that didn't have a Putin Blind Spot would've noticed that by now. On Sunday night, Trump said on Truth Social "I’ve always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY! He is needlessly killing a lot of people, and I’m not just talking about soldiers. Missiles and drones are being shot into Cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever. I’ve always said that he wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe that’s proving to be right, but if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia!" This is President Trump's ultimate weakness. It's time he grew a Reaganite spine and called Putin's Russia an evil empire like Reagan called the Soviet Union an evil empire. Some things...

Kendall Qualls vs. Tim Walz?

Image
You have to admit that Qualls vs. Walz has a certain ring to it. That is if you don't mind getting sick at the thought of a third term from Tim Walz. Frankly, I've had 2 terms too many from Gov. Walz. Fox News is reporting "Army veteran and business executive Kendall Qualls has officially launched his campaign to challenge former Democrat vice presidential nominee Gov. Tim Walz to be the next governor of Minnesota. While Walz has not yet formally announced a third consecutive gubernatorial bid, Qualls, who also ran for governor in 2022, framed the race for Minnesota's highest office as an opportunity to fix the problems Walz created." Since this article ran, Gov. Walz has said that he's leaning towards running. This weekend, a frequent reader of this blog and a political operative, informed me that, despite all the disastrous press Gov. Walz has received, especially this past week, Gov. Walz still gathers 48%-49% approvaal rating. That's surprising conside...

Tim Walz doubling down on Gestapo speech

Image
When Tim Walz, Minnesota's DFL governor, delivered the commencement address for the University of Minnesota Law school, he didn't deliver the typical commencement speech. He delivered a highly partisan speech instead. Gov. Walz compared "federal law enforcement agents implementing President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown to a Nazi-era political police force." He called ICE agents Gestapo. Let's compare the 2. The Gestapo's mission was to rid Germany of Jews. To the Gestapo, it didn't matter that these Jews were German citizens and had been decades. Thanks to the Aryan Clauses, Jews were considered subhuman and weren't really Germans. That's an awfully racist viewpoint. Is Gov. Walz accusing law enforcement officers of being racists? I.C.E. I.C.E. agents enforce laws that bipartisan majorities in both houses of Congress have passed and that the president has signed. These immigration bills were negotiated between the 2 parties. The Aryan Clau...

How the DFL fought fraud prevention

Image
It's disgusting to listen to the DFL argue that they're all-in on fighting fraud within state government. That's a lie. Waler Hudson's legislative update from aft4er the session exposes the DFL's lies on stopping fraud. Hudson notes that "While it’s difficult to say what the final product will look like, one thing is clear: we must address the hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars lost to fraud within state agencies and among grant recipients misusing funds. Rep. Patty Anderson led the charge on this issue, authoring House File 1 to create a new statewide Office of the Inspector General. From Day 1 of this session, Rep. Anderson worked across the aisle and across chambers. " On Monday night, the final night of thhe session, the DFL threw one obstruction after another to prevent the bill from passing. The bill would've created a "new statewide Office of the Inspector General." Further, the bill met resistance when "The proposed Office...

One Big Beautiful win

Image
Once upon a time, there was a tiny GOP majority. Each time a piece of legislation was mentioned, the pundits hinted that it might not happen because of the slim GOP majority. The pundits didn't mention the Democrats' intransigence towards good legislation. Pundits laughed at the thought of passing the Trump agenda in a single bill. Don't look now but Donald Trump's bill passed the eHouse early this morning . CNN, aka the ESPN of news reporting, is reporting "Speaker Mike Johnson delivered a major win for President Donald Trump early on Thursday morning, uniting a deeply divided House GOP to pass a bill that many of them were still pushing fiercely to change. House Republicans passed President Donald Trump’s sweeping tax and spending cuts package, marking a stunning victory for both Johnson and Trump after the bill appeared doomed just days earlier." All it took was the world's nicest guy (Speaker Johnson) and the world's best closer (Donald J. Trump, a...

High School players sue Keith Ellison, MSHSL

Image
In what might be a first-in-the-nation lawsuit, Minnesota softball players have filed a lawsuit against the Minnesota State High School League, aka the MSHSL and Minnesota State Attorney General Keith Ellison. Alpha News is reporting that a "group of Minnesota high school softball players is suing Attorney General Keith Ellison and the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL), alleging that the state’s transgender athlete policy violates federal law and harms female athletes." Alliance Defending Freedom's role Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), a national legal organization, filed the federal lawsuit Monday on behalf of Female Athletes United (FAU), a group of Minnesota girls who say they have been forced to compete against a biologically male athlete in high school softball. The Lawsuit The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, claims the state’s current policy allowing males to compete in girls’ sports is discriminatory and violates Titl...

Proof that Tim Walz will say anything to get elected

Image
This past Saturday, Tim Walz, Minnesota's DFL governor, gave the commencement address at the University of Minnesota. During that address, Gov. Walz intentionally said something provocative . During his address, Walz said "Donald Trump’s modern-day Gestapo is scooping folks up off the streets. They’re in unmarked vans, wearing masks, being shipped off to foreign torture dungeons, no chance to mount a defense, not even a chance to kiss a loved one goodbye, just grabbed up by masked agents, shoved into those vans, and disappeared." Gov. Walz is a liar who'll say anything to win a vote. Fortunately we have an antidote to Gov. Walz's BS. His name is Bill Melugin and he's the best in the business at covewring border security. Check out this video of Melugin embedded with ICE in Boston: These ICE agents aren't wearing masks. If they were, their faces wouldn't need to be blurred. That makes Gov. Walz a world-class liar. The things he said in this commencement...

Donald Trump's Big Beautiful Bill passes another hurdle

Image
Each week, correspondents remind us that passing anything out of the House will be difficult because of the GOP's slim majority. Each week, it seems, Speaker Mike Johnson waves his magic wand, aka Donald Trump, and the bill passes. It's getting tiresosm (almost) to hear the pundits and correspondents explain away another Trump/Johnson victory. It'd be boring if not for the winning. This week, President Trump and Speaker Johnson tried a different trick .This week, the bill failed on Wednesday night but brought back to life on Sunday night. Mike Johnson is fortunate to have President Trump as his closer. He's the best closer in U.SS. history. On election night 2025, ABC made mention that Trump's movement wasn't just strong. It was enduring, too. It's lasted a decaade for a reason. Chip Roy issued a statement, saying "Tonight, after a great deal of work and engagement over the weekend, the Budget Committee advanced a reconciliation bill that lays the found...

DFL is fighting for illegal aliens, big spending

Image
The DFL is addicted to big spending and illegal aliens. This past week, the DDDFL has given Minnesota verified proof of their co-addictions. On Thursday morning, House and Senate leaders joined Gov. Tim Walz to announce that they'd reached agreement on this year's budget targets. By Thursday afternoon, the Twin Cities media were questioning whether the deal had already started to unravel. This article goes beyond the unraveling. FOX9 is reporting "Rep. Cedrick Frazier told reporters Saturday that democrats were working on a plan that would ensure undocumented individuals continue to receive healthcare. 'We’re talking to folks behind the scenes and we’re going to work things out, he said." Rumors are circulating that the DFL is thinking about splitting the bill into 2 bills. One bill would vote on MinnCare for adult illegal aliens. The other bill would force a vote on MinnCare for children. Let's be clear. The DFL is fighting harder for people here illegally ...

Is the DFL circular firing squad forming?

Image
Based on this article , it's looking more and more like the DFL is forming its tr4aditional circular firing squad. According to the article "The bipartisan budget compromise is on the verge of exploding as progressive Democrats say they won't support at least the provision kicking adult undocumented immigrants off MN Care. They rallied alongside clergy from several faiths Friday and heard stories from immigrant families who have lost loved ones because they lacked healthcare." This isn't putting the DFL in a position of strength. Quite the opposite, actually. The more the DFL progressives whine, the stronger the GOP's hand gets. I spoke to a longtime reader of my blogs who bolsteredthat belief. This reader told me on background that Erin Murphy, the Senate Majority Leader, was in tears. Another longtime reader of my blogs verified that Sen. Murphy might need more than 17 votes to pass the HHS bill. Further, I was told that the HHS Omnibus bill might turn int...

Catholics for lawbreaking, illegal immigration

Image
It isn't surprising that Bishop Kevin Kenney lobbied the legislature this week. He was joined by the Catholic Conference in lobbying for breaking the law. That sounds like a typical Democrat, doesn't it? In pushing for 'free' health care (I thought there was no such thing as a free lunch?) for illegal aliens, Bishop Kenney ignored Pope Leo XIV, who is for illegal immigration but who has also said that people need to obey the law. It's time the Catholic Church officially started obeying the entire Bible. It's difficult to picture a church selectively ignore parts of the Bible because it doesn't fit their political agenda. Bishop Kenney said "I’m here because of my love for the immigrant brothers and sisters and (because) we need to continue to reach out and walk with them and help them. We need to be able to offer health care to anyone who is here, no matter how they got here , who let them in. Are we going to let them die on the streets? Are we gonna ...

Will legislators finish budget? Will it fall apart instead?

Image
It was the worst of times. It was the best of times. Since it's Minnesota, that's fairly typical for May during odd-numbered ye0rs. Thursday morning, GOP and DFL legislators joined Gov. Walz in announcing that they'd reached a compromise on Minnesota's budget targets . These were supposed to have been finished a month ago. Thanks to the House DFL refusing to work during the first 3 weeks of the session, we're unquestionably heading for a special session and quite possibly for a government shutdown. While the businesslike press conference was happening, Senate DFL lawmakers did their best to unravel the agreement . They chanted "One Minnesota, right?) Corin Hoggard's report says "Legislative leaders from both parties reached an agreement with Gov. Tim Walz on a budget for Minnesota for the next two years. As they announced the deal, progressive legislators interrupted by knocking on the door and chanting 'One Minnesota, right?' They're upset...

AOC: Democrats are above the law

Image
For years, Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats told us that President Trump wasn't above the law. That line started disappearing when Joe Biden pardoned son Hunter . Apparently, AOC isn't feeling the love because she's insisting that her congressional colleagues who allegedly pushed around guards at the Delaney Detention Center in Newark, NJ, are above the law . AOC is quoted as saying "If anyone’s breaking the law in this situation, it’s not members of Congress, it’s the Department of Homeland Security. It’s people like Tom Homan and Secretary Kristi Noem. You lay a finger on someone, on Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman … or any of the representatives that were there, you lay a finger on them, we are going to have a problem." If a censure resolution is brought to the House floor to discipline these Congresscritters' behavior, AOC will have a problem if she does anything more than speak against the censure resolution. AOC, not Hakeem Jeffries, is the House Democrat Lea...

Tim Walz's, DFL's intransigence the major sticking point in budget negotiations

Image
It's time to stop mincing words and pulling punches when it comes time to talking about Tim Walz's and the DFL's the DFL's attempts at negotiatinga biennial budget. With a major projected budget deficit hovering over them, the DFL still insists on inflicting another tax hike on Minnesota's taxpayers to pay for 'free' college tuition and 'free' health care for illegal aliens. With a major budget deficit hovering over our heads, it's time to live within our means. Giving illegal aliens free tuition for illegal aliens isn't living within our means. This weekend, I spoke with a GOP lawmaker about the status of negotiation. This legislator told me that there isn't a single votein the GOP Caucus willing to vote for either line item. I was told that was a hard no. According to this report , Tim Walz is quoted as saying "There’s no doubt we’re at the 11th hour here. It’s time to get it done. Folks are gonna be frustrated if you compromise on...

Is the Trump administration weaponizing law enforcement?

Image
Democrats apparently think that enforcing the law is the equivalent of weaponizing law enforcement. If that's the only definition of weaponizing law enforcement, then I'm in favor of the weaponization of law enforcement. That isn't the definition of weaponizing law enforcement. It's the Democrats' definition of weaponizing law enforcement. The Democrats' definition of weaponizing law enforcement is actually the definition of what sane people called enforcing the law. According to this article , "A trio of Democratic lawmakers who participated in the 'storming' of Delaney Hall last week doubled down on their actions this week, arguing the Trump administration is 'weaponizing law enforcement.'"What a bunch of drama queens. This was a PR stunt pulled by Democrats.Three of the 4 people who tried to break into Delaney Hall are members of Congress, which means that they know the protocol for conducting oversight on sensitive locations. These ...

Tim Walz goes to Washington DC

Image
Apparently, Tim Walz will be testifying in front of the U.S. House Oversight Committee next month. This figures to be a Democrat clown show, with J.B. Pritzker and Kathy Hochul testifying with Walz before the Committee. Personally, I'll be stocking up on popcorn and printing tickets for the show. The reason for Walz, Pritzker and Hochul's testimony is to have them explain the logic behind their states' sanctuary city/state policies. Chairman James Comer announced that the hearing will be held on June 12. In his statement, Chairman Comer said "Sanctuary policies only provide sanctuaries for criminal illegal aliens. Former President Biden created the worst border crisis in U.S. history, and allowed criminal illegal aliens to flood our communities. President Trump has ended this crisis, securing our borders. Yet, states like Minnesota, Illinois, and New York obstruct federal efforts to deport criminal illegal aliens." This hearing is predictable. Walz, Pritzker and ...

Why does Keith Ellison hate biological women?

Image
It's apparent that Keith Ellison, Minnesota's DFL Attorney General, hates biological women. It's apparent because he's filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration under the guise of protecting women's civil rights. Jim Schultz wrote this op-ed in Alpha News to highlight AG Ellison's warped priorities. In his op--ed, Schultz writes "If you want to understand just how disconnected Minnesota’s leadership is from ordinary citizens (and even from basic reality), look no further than Attorney General Keith Ellison. On April 22, Ellison announced he is suing the federal government, not to fight violent crime or recover the $250 million stolen from taxpayers in the Feeding Our Future scandal, but to ensure that biological males can compete against girls in school sports." WARNING ALL PARENTS Do you want biological males invading your daughter's bathroom or locker room? Think that hasn't happened? It's happened in Loudoun County , Virginia. Th...

The DFL's all-or-nothing strategy on Medicaid

Image
This morning, I received Rep. Mary Franson's weekly legislative update. This update is an especially important update because there's just 10 days left in the regular session. Rep. Franson writes "One of the major holdups, as I’ve mentioned before, is the Democrats’ push to fund healthcare for illegal immigrants through the Health omnibus bill. MinnesotaCare was never meant to cover those here illegally, but Democrats are refusing to adjust eligibility requirements. Instead, they’re threatening to defund the entire program if they can’t get their way. This puts thousands of Minnesotans at risk of losing coverage just so Democrats can protect benefits for people who are not in this country legally. It’s a reckless move that prioritizes illegal immigrants over Minnesota taxpayers and undermines the integrity of a program that was designed to help our own. The number of illegal immigrants that have enrolled in the program continues to increase, as of May 1st the number is ar...

What will Democrats do when the Trump Boom hits?

Image
Last week, Democrats used the word chaos to the point of them sounding like a flock of parrots. The plan was to suggest that President Trump didn't know what he was doing. On Wednesday's Kudlow program, Kudlow opened the program with an interview of Newt Gingrich . During the interview, Gingrich said that he'd be writing a Friday newsletter titled "The coming Trump boom." While Democrats think that their propaganda is working, the truth is that President Trump's policies are working. By the middle of Q3 of this year, the Trump Boom will be evident. By then, the tax cuts extension will have started kicking in, the major trade deals will have been signed and the new ta cuts will be kicking in. Finally, China will have painted itself into a corner. Newt astutely notes that the U.S. can buy "from India, Japan, South Korea and even Vietnam." The U.S. can survive, Newt insinuates, without China. China can't survive without the U.S. That's the lever...

Mark Levin, Mark Goldfeder vs. Harvard

Image
Harvard, CNN and John Avlon chose to walk into a lion's den by insulting Dr. Mark Goldfeder, the "CEO of the National Jewish Advocacy Center", after Goldfeder told Avlon, Jake Tapper and t."e CNN audience that Harvard could lose its tax-excempt status for its tolerance of antsemitism. Dr. Goldfeder didn't just shoot his amateur mouth off. Goldfeder is "the attorney litigating against green card holder and Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil." Specifically, Goldfeder said "the U.S. Supreme Court has already held that a charitable organization, including specifically a university, can lose its tax-exempt status if they are violating fundamental policy." This ignited Mr. Avlon. He replied "You're comparing Harvard University to Bob Jones University, which lost its tax-exempt status because it forbid interracial dating? I just want to be clear that's your official position, right?" Dr. Goldfeder replied that he indeed believed t...

Ken Martin's high wire juggling act

As the newly elected chair of the DNC, Ken Martin has his hands full and then some. He's getting paid to build the election infrastructure tha)t's supposed to help Democrats win elections. After getting elected, Martin's office developed a new problem. That problem's name is David Hogg and he's out for Democrats. While Hogg is a major problem for Martin, that isn't Martin's biggest problem. Martin's biggest problem is dodging the truth. That's often been his biggest problem. It's often been Democrats' biggest problem, too. (I used to say that Democrats were "loosely tethered to the truth." I still believe that.) Yesterday, Martin appeared on Fox News Sunday With Shannon Bream. At one point, Martin said that President Trump was failing, that inflation was rising, that the world was in chaos, etc. Democrats have intentionally picked chaos to characterize Trump's governing style. That's intentional because the word chaos hints ...

Is the DFL the anti-education party?

Image
There's a misconception that the DFL is the pro-education party. That misconception needs to be demolished ASAP. Rep. Mary Franson's latest legislative update provides a great picture of what's happening in the legislature. Rep. Franson wrote "Negotiations on several major bills are still in progress, but the process took a disappointing turn this week with the K-12 education finance and policy package. After weeks of work, GOP and DFL committee leaders came to a bipartisan agreement on the bill. The bill moved forward with bipartisan support, passing through the Education Finance committee and then through the Ways and Means committee. Every step of the way, it met the requirement for support from both parties." So far, so good, right? Enter the DFL members of the Rules Committee: Then, when it reached the Rules committee, everything stalled. Despite the deal being negotiated in good faith and approved by leadership from both sides, the DFL members on the Rules ...

Jeff Johnson's gubernatorial announcement

Image
Back in March, former St. Cloud City Councilman Jeff Johnson announced that he's running to defeat Tim Walz and deny Gov. Walz a third term in office. In his announcement, Councilman Johnson said that Minnesota is facing a series of crises , each attributable to Gov. Walz's lack of leadership. There are lots of people who agree with that. In Councilman Johnson's own words, "Walz still lacks a coherent plan for making Minnesota safe, growing Minnesota’s economy, and slowing the exodus of Minnesotans to other states. Minnesota is dealing with unprecedented murders, assaults, armed carjackings in broad daylight, riots, demoralized police forces, taxpayer fraud exceeding $600,000,000 and oppressively high taxes with more increases on the horizon. It’s obvious that Tim Walz has been involved in one train wreck after another, Johnson said." Tim Walz can list lots of bills that he's signed. He can't say that he's signed bills that've made Minnesotans'...

Donald Trump's biggest presidential success

Image
To say that President Trump, with Tom Homan's and Kristi Noem's help, has stopped illegal immigration is understatement. On Monday morning in the White House Briefing Room, Tom Homan explained how the Trump administration shut down the border . Homan said "Now, President Trump and this administration here, it’s a success, it’s unprecedented. We’ve beat the Trump administration’s first-term border success. Border numbers are at a historic low. Today, we have the most secure border in et? The border wall save lives because the most vulnerable women and children can’t get over that wall, which means they’re going to a place where there’s not a wall, and what’s waiting are the men and women of the United States Border Patrol who will take care of those humanitarian needs to help." I knew that Trump would fix the border. I just didn't know he'd fix it this fast, this thoroughly. For once, the Trump administration gets a fair interviewer: PARTIAL TRANSCRIPT: We just...
