DFL tugs at heartstrings, offers same set of 'solutions'

If I've heard it once, I've heard it 1,000 times. Albert Einstein once famously said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result. When it comes to school shootings, the DFL's approach remains the same. The DFL's approach doesn't change. Strip law-abiding citizens of their God-given rights, give criminals a slap on the wrist. That's if they get prosecuted. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Tim Walz is yapping about calling another special session, this time to supposedly prevent gun violence. This is different only in that we've never tried passing gun laws in special sessions before. Otherwise, the script remains the same. They make Einstein look prophetic.

Thankfully, House Republicans have flipped the script. According to Fox9's reporting, "Minnesota Republicans shared their provisions for school safety measures in the state." I wrote here that the DFL, either the legislature or Gov. Walz, refused to appropriate funds for non-public school students. This is what happened:

The letter was written by MINNDEPENDENT president Tim Benz and Minnesota Catholic Conference (MCC) executive director Jason Adkins.
They wrote their letter to Gov. Walz and Lt. Gov. Flanagan. This is what they wrote:
"We are writing on behalf of our respective organizations regarding the urgent and critical need in Minnesota to make sure our schools are secure and safe considering the most recent, and continuing attacks, on our schools in this country and in our state."
Gov. Walz and Lt. Gov. Flanagan didn't act on their letter. That isn't surprising. Gov. Walz and Lt. Gov. Flanagan hate non-public schools. This year's GOP stopped all that.

They got creative. This year's GOP have pushed back hard. In case nobody's noticed, the DFL have ramped up the PR campaign in an attempt to get this year's package across the finish line. From parents of children involved in the Annunciation shooting to big city mayors to U.S. senators, they've all demanded additional gun control laws get passed. Speaker Demuth gets credit, along with leadership team, for putting together a substantive plan that will work if it's given a chance. Speaker Demuth explains the GOP plan to WCCO:

The DFL uses parents to ramp up pressure on GOP:

It's time the GOP ripped a page out of the DFL's playbook. It's time for the GOP to go on offense and stay on offense. It's time to prove that our ideas work and that the DFL's ideas fail. To the GOP: Carpe Diem. Seize the day!
