Chicago, the safest big city in the Upper Midwest?

If you're stupid enough to listen to J.B. Pritzker and Brandon Johnson, the rich liberal governor of Illinois and the union loyalist for the Chicago Teachers Union, respectively, you'd think that Chicago is the safest big city in the Upper Midwest. This Fox News article gives us proof that Chicago isn't safe whatsoever. It reports that "At least seven people have been killed and 37 others injured in shootings in Chicago this Labor Day weekend, even as the city's mayor vows to block President Donald Trump's efforts to combat crime."

There's a populist uprising heading in Chicago's direction. Brandon Johnson and J.B. Pritzker aren't acting like they've noticed but it's coming.

The thing I haven't figured out is why Pritzker and Johnson are this pig-headed. They should want to rid Chicago of crime. They should enthusiastically welcome the taking down of criminal cartels and rival gangs. That should be simple.

Is it that Chicago progressives haven't noticed the building uprising? Or is it that they're afraid to admit that they aren't fixing Chicago's problems? Either way, Democrats haven't fixed the problems. If they won't fix things in the next 6 months, then Chicagoans need to fire Johnson and Pritzker.
This weekend's shootings took place in a series of unrelated incidents across Chicago, with the majority of instances resulting in no one being taken into custody, police say. Trump has suggested he may deploy the National Guard and other federal law enforcement to combat crime in the city.

The victims of fatal shootings so far this weekend include at least two women and three men, as well as two others police have not specified. Authorities have not released the names of the deceased.

This paragraph should disgust every parent in Chicago:
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order on Saturday prohibiting local police from working with their federal counterparts.
Let me rewrite that without the pro-Johnson spin:
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order on Saturday prohibiting local police from helping clean up Chicago.
In Brandon Johnson's Chicago, police are tolerated. They aren't appreciated. If Johnson won't start fixing Chicago's crime epidemic, he needs to get fired. Period.

When Tim Walz, Minnesota's DFL governor, delivered the commencement address for the University of Minnesota Law school, he didn't deliver the typical commencement speech. He delivered a highly partisan speech instead. Gov. Walz compared "federal law enforcement agents implementing President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown to a Nazi-era political police force."
