It's the inflation, Stupid, Part II

A little over a week ago, I wrote a post titled "It's the Inflation, Stupid." It's time Republicans figured out that the economy overall isn't Biden's weak spot. Biden's weak spot is inflation. That's best personified by spiking gas prices, which are now approaching $4.00 a gallon nationwide. BTW, that's 30 cents higher than a month ago.

Some idiot in the White House thinks it's ok to talk up Bidenomics. That person couldn't be more wrong. According to the WH Bidenomics white paper, "Even as they faced an immediate economic and public health crisis—with a raging pandemic, elevated unemployment, snarled supply chains, and hundreds of thousands of small businesses at risk of shuttering—the President and Vice President understood that it wouldn’t be enough to simply go back to the economy we had before the pandemic. That economy was saddled with longstanding challenges that held America back—including rising inequality and disinvestment from communities across the country."

Let's be clear about this. Income inequality doesn't happen with prolific economies. It happens in socialist economies. Since taking office, Biden's administration has implemented socialist regulations ad infinitum. They've spent unprecedented amounts of money on things that people don't want. Who thinks that the entire nation wants electric vehicles? While auto manufacturers make billions of dollars from Inflation Reduction Act subsidies, EVs continue piling up on sales lots.

While inflation rates have dropped, prices haven't.  I wrote here that the definition of Bidenomics is when there's still bills to pay after the family has run out of money. If Republicans want to connect with voters, they need to first remind people that inflation started under Biden. Next, the nominee needs to lay out his-her plan for eliminating inflation without killing the economy.

That means eliminating the Biden policies, then replacing them with pro-growth policies that liberate the people. I'd start by telling people that we're returning to an economy of plenty model, where we don't have supply chain issues, there aren't baby formula issues and we're energy independent. I'd start using Newt Gingrich's saying of "Drill here, drill now, save money" in every stump speech. Remind people that they didn't have high inflation until Biden started spending trillions of dollars and Biden restricted oil and natural gas production.

Finally, I'd lay out a pro-growth plan for balancing the budget within 5-6 years. Tell people that their government will live within its means instead of spending money we don't have on things we don't need.

This is the right approach on balancing the budget:

I'd fight with Newt on one thing. He said that the Democracy Project has inflation as the No. 1 issue and the economy as the No. 2 issue. Then he said "They're basically the same issue." I couldn't disagree more vehemently. Inflation is top issue because it's the thing that's hurting families most. If you want people buying your agenda, you must let them know that you see things the way that the people sees things.
