The Democrats' toughness disadvantage

Image
Amy Walter nailed things perfectly in this PBS Newshour interview . Geoff Bennett asked Ms. Walter "The chief of the LAPD at one point said he wasn't entirely sure, maybe they did need more help, maybe they did need more National Guard resources. But on this point of President Trump, Amy, using the military to paint this perception of toughness and to send a signal to other Democratic-led states and cities, what do you make of it?" Ms. Walter replied "I think that's true, and I do think that's why it's been so interesting to watch the Democratic response, especially of Democratic leaders, not just in the state, but nationally. To Tam's point about this is a fight that Donald Trump wants, Democrats know that too. They can see the poll numbers. They remember 2020. They remember 2024." She then continues, saying "And when it comes to issues like this, whether it's crime, whether it is, and now, today, on the issue of immigration, Donald Tru...

Jim Jordan vs. 3 Stooges, aka Tim Walz, J.B. Pritzker & Kathy Hochul

Image
This Thursday, I'll be popping the popcorn before sitting down to watch Jim Jordan grill sanctuary state governors Kathy Hochul, J.B. Pritzker and Tim Walz. Chairman Jordan sat down for an interview with Alpha News . It's noteworthy that Chairman Jordan, (R-OH), "criticized Walz’s recent comments comparing federal immigration agents to Hitler’s Gestapo." Jordan is quoted as saying "For him to criticize folks who are simply trying to enforce the law—law enforcement officers—and make it harder for them to do their job just doesn’t make sense to me. Especially with what took place in Minneapolis five summers ago." Chairman Jordan then added "I go back to Nov. 5. I think the people spoke loud and clear that these kinds of ridiculous policies are not what they support." Then he finished things off by saying "It’s crazy that men compete against women in sports. It’s crazy to say illegal migrants get put on the healthcare system that American taxpaye...

John Fetterman speaks out against LA Riots

Image
This past weekend, I wrote this article to highlight the lengths that the MSM would go to not use the word riot in connection with the L.A. Riots. Instead, USA Today used a euphemism (violent protests) to describe a situation "where helmeted police in riot gear clashed with concrete-hurling protesters." I'm fairly certain that the First Amendment doesn't cover "concrete-hurling protesters." I'm certain that's a crime. In this article , Sen. John Fetterman is quoted as saying "I unapologetically stand for free speech, peaceful demonstrations, and immigration—but this is not that. This is anarchy and true chaos. My party loses the moral high ground when we refuse to condemn setting cars on fire, destroying buildings, and assaulting law enforcement." Democrats aren't the only people who lose credibility in this episode. The Agenda Media has lost credibility while covering the L.A. Riots. Instead of telling people what was happening in pl...

Why trust CAIR-MN's Jaylani Hussein?

Image
Fox9 is reporting that Jaylani Hussein, CAIR-MN's Executive Director, has started whining about President Trump's travel ban. Fox9 quotes Hussein as saying "What we know is that this is not about security. It's a continuation of the anti-Muslim and particularly the anti-African ban." It's amazingthat Hussein knows this with such total certainnty. It reminds me of the time when he knew with total certainty that then St. C;oud City Councilman Jeff Johnson was a bigot. That was when Councilman Johnson was circulating a resolution calling for a moratorium on the Refugee Resettlement Program so they ccould find out how much it'd cost in city/county services to take in incoming Somali refugees. To Hussein, that was proof of Johnson's bigotry. In reality, Johnson just wanted to know the potential cost of the program. Proof positive Fox9 quoted Munira Mohamed, policy associate for the local chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, as saying "The ...

Soft-on-crime Democrats let rioters run free, Part II

Image
On Sunday, I took USA Today to the proverbial woodshed for its extensive use of euphemisms to soften the reporting on the L.A. Riots. I highlighted Bart Jansen's use of phrases like "undocumented immigrants", "one of the most serious confrontations yet" and "agents carrying out Trump’s directives on mass arrests and deportations, and local officials who oppose the stricter enforcement measures." The rioters in the street hurtled broken cement blocks at police officers and National Guardsmen. Further, based on the arrests of these rioters and the footage shot at the scene of the crime, this wasn't a protest. This was a full-scale riot. Period. Trey Gowdy's Sunday Night in America program highlighted a retired L.A. County sheriff. This sheriff told Gowdy that the original call for additional help went to the current sheriff. That sheriff turned the police down. Further, the retired sheriff said that he didn't know whether the current sheriff...

Soft-on-crime Democrats let rioters run free

Image
The L.A. riots of this summer are proof that Democrats hate law enforcement. In Minneapolis, MN, rioters took to the streets when they thought that ICE was conducting a deportation raid. As a result of this weekend's L.A. Riots, President Trump has deployed "thousands of National Guard troops to help quell violent protests against immigration enforcement in Los Angeles, where helmeted police in riot gear clashed with concrete-hurling protesters who opposed tougher federal actions against undocumented immigrants." First off, if these people are hurling concrete at law enforcement, they aren't protesting. They're rioting. Period. The First Amendment permits peacefully assembling to addressing grievances. Hurling concrete at law enforcement officers arresting illegal aliens is a criminal action. Period. Bart Jansen's reporting states "The clash spanning June 6 and 7 marked one of the most serious confrontations yet between agents carrying out Trump’s direc...

Trump Resistance 2.0, Keith Ellison edition

Image
It isn't surprising that Keith Ellison is part of the anti-Trump resistance 2.0. After all, Keith Ellison has been a scofflaw since he's been in law school. The Arizona Mirror is reporting that Democrat stte attorneys general started teaming up to prevent President Trump from enacting his policies. Put differently, Ellison et al devised a plan to thwart the will of the American people as expressed in the Nov. 5, 2024 election. It's important to understand that Democrats don't care about the will of the American people. They care aboutt pushing the Democrata' ideological wish list. That's what pushed then-Speaker Pelosi to sayy that we had to pass the bill to find out what's in it. In 2025, the DFL doesn't care that 61% of Minnesotans object to free health care for illegal aliens . The Democrats' plan of resistance When President Donald Trump’s performance in the polls in 2024 signaled a possible re-election, Keith Ellison and fellow Democratic attor...
