Why trust CAIR-MN's Jaylani Hussein?
It's amazingthat Hussein knows this with such total certainnty. It reminds me of the time when he knew with total certainty that then St. C;oud City Councilman Jeff Johnson was a bigot. That was when Councilman Johnson was circulating a resolution calling for a moratorium on the Refugee Resettlement Program so they ccould find out how much it'd cost in city/county services to take in incoming Somali refugees.
To Hussein, that was proof of Johnson's bigotry. In reality, Johnson just wanted to know the potential cost of the program.
Proof positive
Fox9 quoted Munira Mohamed, policy associate for the local chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, as saying "The ban is carefully crafted to hide its true and evident intent, which is to discriminate based on religion, race, and nationality." I hear the accusation but I haven't seen the proof. I'd consider this a fundraising accusation. CAIR-MN makes the accusation, gets into a newspaper and sacreams bloody murder. Don't pay attention to the fact that CAIR-MN hasn't shown a hint of proof. It's the accusation that matters.
CAIR says many Muslims don't regret their decisions in the voting booth because of the Biden administration's stance on Gaza. "Banning and bombing are not the same thing. We knew that Muslims in America may suffer more because of this administration. We understood that that was a risk we were willing to take to save the lives of children in Gaza and to end the war," said Hussein.Hussein hasn't provided proof that the Trump administration is bigoted. Further, CAIR-MN knows that countries like Somalia, Sudan and Syria don't have information systems that keep track of people's identities. If DHS can't verify who's entering the nation, why let them in?
Notice the deceptive wording on Jeff Johnson's resolution:
CAIR-MN called it a ban. Councilman Johnson consistently called it a moratorium. The definition of moratorium is "a suspension of activity" while the definition of a ban is "to prohibit, forbid, or bar." Anyone that can't seee the difference between the definition of a moratorium and a ban is either dishonest or illiterate. In this instance, CAIR-MN is dishonest.
