Joe Concha: Michele Tafoya wiped the floor with Peggy Flanagan

Appearing Saturday on Fox Reports With Jon Scott, Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha said "Every poll that has been released before this debate has shown a dead heat. And by every objective measure, Michele Tafoya wiped the floor with Peggy Flanagan during that debate earlier this week. You saw her on the defensive there." Don't take Joe Concha's word for it. Watch this hour-long debate for yourself:

Time-after-time, Flanagan dragged President Trump into the debate. Meanwhile, when fraud became the topic of debate, Flanagan said that "The governor has been very clear that 'the buck stops with him.' He was the one who had oversight here." Instead of taking the blame for fraud, she took credit for Paid Family Medical Leave and free breakfasts and lunches for children. Paid Family Medical Leave isn't popular with small businesses. Free meals are fairly popullar but they won't improve turnout for the DFL.
Concha said Flanagan was deflecting responsibility despite serving as lieutenant governor.

"Rampant fraud under Gov. Tim Walz and Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, who simply will not take responsibility for billions fleeing from the state under her watch," Concha said. "Only to say, ‘Oh, well, I’m angry about it too.’ Well yeah, you were in office. You still are in office when this happened."

This is where Michele Tafoya buried Flanagan:
In contrast, Tafoya tried to appear more moderate, saying she planned to strike back at corruption regardless of political parties while also acknowledging the fraud scandal.

"I am going to Washington to be an equal opportunity pain in the ass to any corrupt career politician," Tafoya said. "I don’t care which side of the aisle they’re on, or what office they hold. I note that my opponent here mentioned Donald Trump’s name. I don’t know how many times I’ve lost count. Peggy, Donald Trump isn’t on the ballot, you and I are on the ballot, and only one of us let $9 billion walk out the door to fraud."

That line is a Game, Set, Match, Championship type of line. Flanagan didn't have a reply. That isn't surprising. Finally, it's noteworthy that the events of the past 2 weeks have been negative events for the DFL. The Eden Prairie HS Homecoming shooting. The thwarted Mall of America attack. The shooting in Edina. St. Paul Mayor Kaohly Her getting sued for sexual harassment. The Ilhan Omar scandal. The thing is that isn't the comprehensive list. Meanwhile, the MNGOP is gaining momentum.
