Republican Attorneys General Association targeting Keith Ellison

According to Dustin Grage's reporting, "The Republican Attorneys General Association (@RepublicanAGs) is dropping a seven-figure ad blitz against Keith Ellison in Minnesota. The first ad 'Thanks, Keith' will be targeting Keith Ellison overseeing Minnesota’s nation leading fraud." According to this Alpha News article, "The Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) is launching a $7 million ad campaign to support Republican attorneys general and Republican candidates for attorney general in 13 states, one of those being Minnesota." This year's Minnesota GOP statewide nominees is the strongest group of candidates in Minnesota since 2002. With Michele Tafoya for U.S. Senate, Lisa Demuth for Governor and Ron Schutz for AG, GOP candidates up and down the ticket will be strengthened.

Grage reported "Keith Ellison (D) won by less than one percentage point in the second-closest attorney general race of 2022. Poll after poll shows Ellison is deeply unpopular and vulnerable when voters see the contrast with Republican nominee Ron Schutz (@RonforMNAG), an Army veteran, accomplished litigator, and former prosecutor."

The most recent poll (from KSTP-SurveyUSA) showed Ellison and Schutz tied at 43%. While I'm skeptical of media polls, this poll likely has Ellison worried. It's one thing for a 2-term incumbent to be at 48%. It's another to be at 43%.

It's another thing when a new candidate with little name-recognition starts at 43%. Schutz has room to grow because, theoretically, his poll percentage will increase as he becomes better known. This ad is dripping with sarcasm:

Ellison is considered one of the weakest DFLers running for statewide office in Minnesota this year. In 2022, Ellison won a second term as attorney general by less than 1 point. A recent poll from KSTP/SurveyUSA showed Ellison and Schutz were tied in the race.
The DFL doesn't have a strong statewide ticket this year. They'll have to fight and claw to win this year. After these findings, Ellison has a steep uphill climb:

That's more scary than Ellison's polling.

Anyone that thinks that Tim Walz, Minnesota's DFL governor, doesn't care about preventing crime or fraud hasn't read this article . Alpha News is reporting that "The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) has confirmed that Dylan Adams, the fiscal policy analyst caught on video vandalizing Teslas in Minneapolis, is still employed by the state — meaning Minnesota taxpayers are footing the bill for his salary. In response to Alpha News inquiries, a DHS spokesperson said: "Dylan Adams is a current employee." Apparently, the Walz administration doesn't care that it's employing a vandal in its Department of Human Services. As for whether Adams "has faced consequences for racking up more than $21,000 in damage during work hours , the agency offered little transparency.
