Was Jill Biden an activist First Lady?
RealClearPolitics quoted the former First Lady as saying "He was still doing a great job as president. He was still doing the work every single day. It was so hurtful to see many of the people that we really thought were behind Joe come out and attack him. Of course, I could be blinded by love. I hope that I am blinded by love. To me, he was the best president."
It's a lie for her to say that Joe 'was still doing the work every single day.' Joe Concha coined the phrase that Biden worked '24/7' before explaining that he meant Biden worked 24 hours a month for 7 months a year. That I'll buy.
Notice that the former First Lady didn't get booked for 60 Minutes in primetime. She got booked for Sunday morning before Face The Nation. That's a distinct slap in the face to the former FLOTUS. After watching the interview, I have little respect for Dr. Jill:
Early in the interview, Mrs. Biden was asked what she meant by the job of First Lady being a Catch-22. She replied that "Joe was West Wing. I was East Wing. I was there to support what Joe did and to take that out to the people of the country." That isn't her job. Her job was to pick a topic and focus on it. Barbara Bush picked childhood literacy. It's a seperate office. The fact that she saw her and Joe working together is disturbing. He was elected to run the country. She wasn't elected. Period. It's apparent that Mrs. Biden was the most activist FLOTUS other than Woodrow Wilson's wife Edith. President Wilson's wife essentially was the president "following the severe stroke he suffered in October 1919." Presidents have cabinets to advise them on policy matters. That isn't the FLOTUS' responsibility.
