The cost of doing nothing: How Tim Walz and Keith Ellison fueled Minnesota's fraud explosion

The executive summary of this investigative report is damning to both Keith Ellison and Gov. Tim Walz's time in office. For instance, the Executive Summary's initial bullet point said "Senior officials in Governor Walz’s office and Attorney General Ellison’s office were aware of credible, systemic fraud concerns in social services programs as early as 2019 within the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) and by April 2020 within the state Department of Education (MDE), despite later public statements by Governor Walz suggesting otherwise."

I coined a phrase that fits here perfectly. It says "Democrats will always do the right thing -- when it's the only option left." This isn't just meant as a smart aleck comment. It's meant as a statement of fact, too. Why didn't Walz and Ellison take immediate action against these fraudsters? Was it because they needed the Somalis' votes? Was it because the DFL is soft-on-crime? Was it all-of-the-above? I suspect it's all-of-the-above?

In the case of fraud by non-profit Feeding our Future (FOF), MDE continued payments even after identifying serious program deficiencies. Continuing payments were a oluntary state action and not responsive to any court order to resume payments. The state’s decision to continue payments allowed hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to continue going to fraudsters for another eight months until the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) executed a search warrant at FOF’s offices.
When Gov. Walz tried covering things up by saying that they were ordered by a judge to continue payments, the judge issued a statement, saying that he never issued such an order. The point is that Gov. Walz has lied frequently to hide his misconduct. It's my opinion that Gov. Walz is the most dishonest politician in Minnesota history, other than Keith Ellison and Ilhan Omar. How honest people can vote for Ellison or Walz is inexplicable.

I couldn't help but smile when I read the headline to this article . The title is "BREAKING: Minnesota Department of Education to strengthen hiring practices — after Alpha News reports." Thank God for well-run government agencies. Under DFL management, the Minnesota Department of Education, aka MDE, has turned inot an embarassment. Thank God Alpha News takes oversight seriously.
