Donald Trump isn't listening to his followers

Sunday night on Life, Liberty & Levin, host Mark Levin's opening monologue was considerably sharper than usual. Part of Levin's monologue caught my attention because it involves polling data, which is rarely part of Levin's monologues. Part of the polling asked "Which outcome do you most prefer to see in Iran?" When asking only MAGA Republicans, 'Regime change' registered at 51% while 25% preferred 'Negotiated settlement.'

Next, the Reagan Institute Summer Survey asked all Republicans "Which outcome do you most prefer to see in Iran?" The results didn't change, with 50% saying they preferred regime change while 25% said negotiated settlement. Whether asking MAGA Republicans or regular Republicans, the results don’t change. They want regime change, which means they prefer winning. Seeing is believing.

The Republican Party, in general, wants the U.S.-led coalition to have something rock-solid to show for 2+ months of war and cease-fires. They aren't interested in a wimpy political document that Iran has already broken. It's obvious to anyone with eyesight that Iran isn't interested in giving up their nuclear ambitions.

Further, President Trump told the Iranian people that "help is on its way" when the Besij killed 40,000+ Iranian citizens. Leaving the same regime intact isn't help being on its way. That's the status quo. That isn't President Trump's reputation. President Trump promised help. The Iranian people should expect that help delivered. Period. Promises made, promises kept, right? Otherwise, President Trump is just another politician.
