Jay Jones cancels VA fundraiser
The first major news to break since word broke alleging Jay Jones' texting scandal broke this afternoon. UPI, via Axios, is reporting that "The Democrat candidate for Virginia attorney general has canceled a Thursday fundraiser in the wake of his texting scandal, Axios reported."
The article continues, saying "The fundraiser was scheduled for Thursday evening at the home of novelist David Baldacci, but the cancellation may indicate the Jones campaign is struggling. Top Democrats, including Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., have denounced the texts but haven't called on Jones to drop out of the race, causing Republicans to allege hypocrisy. Kaine called the texts 'indefensible,' but says he's 'still a supporter.' He said, 'Jay has apologized,' Axios reported." If Sen. Kaine honestly thinks that Jones has legitimately apologized, Sen. Kaine isn't qualified to serve in the Senate. Anyone that's listened to Jones's faux apology knows the difference between legitimately apologizing and what's on the videotape report:
Jones should quit Virginia politics entirely. What he's said is disqualifying. Period.
