DFL takes another step towards DFL Mob Rule

It's utterly apparent that DFL metro mayors don't care about the U.S. Constitution or the landmark rulings of the U.S. Supreme Court. It's apparent because KARE11 is reporting that "Nine mayors from some of Minnesota's largest cities stood together inside the Capitol on Tuesday asking state legislators to either ban assault weapons statewide, or repeal a 1985 law that prevents cities from regulating firearms at the local level.

First, assault weapons bans are unconstitutional. This paragraph explains the underlying principal behind banning certain categories of weapons. It says "The handgun ban and the trigger-lock requirement (as applied to self-defense) violate the Second Amendment. The District’s total ban on handgun possession in the home amounts to a prohibition on an entire class of “arms” that Americans overwhelmingly choose for the lawful purpose of self-defense. Under any of the standards of scrutiny the Court has applied to enumerated constitutional rights, this prohibition—in the place where the importance of the lawful defense of self, family, and property is most acute—would fail constitutional muster. Similarly, the requirement that any lawful firearm in the home be disassembled or bound by a trigger lock makes it impossible for citizens to use arms for the core lawful purpose of self-defense and is hence unconstitutional."

Scalia's opinion is airtight. First, he highlights the fact that the Disttrict of Columbia is attempting to ban weapons "that Americans overwhelmingly choose for the lawful purpose of self-defense." Next, Scalia strengthens his opinion by saying this:

a trigger lock makes it impossible for citizens to use arms for the core lawful purpose of self-defense.
Here's the list of mayors who ignored the Constitution:
The chief executives in attendance included Mayor Jacob Frey of Minneapolis, Mayor Melvin Carter of Saint Paul, Mayor Tim Busse of Bloomington, and six others from Stillwater, Vadnais Heights, Minnetonka, Hopkins, Richfield and Columbia Heights. Following last week's deadly shooting at Annunciation Church, the mayors issued a unified call to the legislature as Gov. Walz prepares to call a special session later this month.
These anti-constitutionalists shouldn't be allowed to govern. Each mayor swore to uphold the Minnesota Constitution and the U.S. Constitution. These leftists just demonstrated that they don't respect the U.S. Consatitution or the U.S. Supreme Court's landmark rulings. Check out the idiotic things some of these mayors said:

If Mayor Carter is that disrespectful of the Constitution and the Supreme Court's rulings, he's anything except a moderate. With this video's statements, there's justification to call these anti-constitutionalist mayors a special name. I'm thinking they should be called Metro Minnesota's Mob Rule Mayors.

Jacob Frey said this:

"The first and best way of doing this, is to have a statewide and/or a federal ban on assault weapons and a ban on high-capacity magazines. But if you're not able to do it, or unable to do it there, give us the ability to keep our constituents safe. That is our call. That is our ask."
It's nobody's call since the right to protect one's family existed long before the U.S. existed. It's often called Nature's Law. We have a Bill of Rights so that people in the minority still have rights, especially when it comes to strong-willed anti-consatitutional majorities want to ram things down societies' throats. That's what's happening here. A bunch of hot-headed metro mayors think that they should set the rules for what people can do to protect their families.

To GOP legislators: tell Gov. Walz that you'll work with him on mental health laws and provisions that strengthen security on school campuses but working to gut the Second Amendment is off-limits.
