Friday night's feisty Almanac Roundtable
Friday night's Roundtable on TPT's Almanac got feistier than usual. It was bound to considering the fact that the Roundtable was mostly focused on Wednesday's school shooting. Fritz Knaak, one of the most gentlemanly debaters on the program, said "To get back to your original questions, yeah, I do think it's a little soon. I think some defference needs to be given to that whole community. That community is about as tight of a Catholic community as there is. It's right in the heart of the Twin Cities. If you put it on a map of the Twin Cities, it's right in the middle of it. That school is one of the better Catholic elementary schools. It's beyond imagining for me how you would recover from something like this because there's something very particular about the targetiong that happened here. This wasn't just about prayer. This was a Catholic mass, which, if you're a Catholic, is the central part of your religious practice and it's sacred..."
Watch this entire segment:
It gets rather feisty at times. Karla Bigham immediately interjected, saying "I pray for them, too, but it also has to come with some action." Ms. Bigham, this isn't a contest to find out who's most holy or most devout. It's about figuringout the best way to keep kids safe while they're on school property. While Gov. Walz rejected funding school safety initiatives in 2023, when you guys had the Trifecta and an $18,000,000,000 projected surplus, the DFL legislature said no to protecting nonpublic schools All they were asking for was a share of $50,000,000. That's barely a rounding error on $18,000,000,000. The DFL said 'Take a hike'. Yjr Department of Homeland Security stepped into the breach:
The supposedly evil Trump administration made kids and schools safer while the DFL told kids in Catholic schools to take a hike. To read more about the Trump administration's actions to make schools safer, follow this link. To fond out how wedded the DFL is to Education Minnesota and to hating nonpublic schools, read this. Finally, there's no doubt that the DFL isn't serious about school safety. They the oppoortunity of spending a pittance of Minnesota's projected record surplus but told nonpublic schools to take a hike. That isn't evil like Robert Westman evil but it isn't virtuous, either.DHS is awarding $110 million to more than 600 faith-based organizations and nonprofits across the US. In the face of violent criminals and radical organizations intent on hurting American communities, the Trump Administration is helping houses of worship, schools and community…
