Mark Halperin: donors won't contribute to Joe Biden's presidential library
Figuring out Democrats is like trying to figure out women. It's a waste of time. That's like assuming that they've used to using logic. Halperin said "I mean there will be some version, maybe more like a bookmobile than an actual library. But this is not a surprise. He’s never been a good fundraiser and the donors are really annoyed."
These fundraisers didn't object when the DNC restricted the rule so that Biden would be the only candidate, thereby ensuring a primary without competition. When Biden bombed in the June 27th debate, Democrats went into full-fledged panic mode. That night on CNN and MSNBC, Democrat pundits started talking about who might replace Biden as the nominee.
For months, Republicans talked about Joe Biden's cognitive decline. I set my clock by Sean Hannity's first mention of the night about Joe's cognitive decline, complete with video clip. For months, KJP insisted that Joe was working younger staffers into the ground, telling the gullible press that they simply didn't have a chance. Joe Scarborough went farther. Check this out:
After telling the audience that he's never been better, that Biden's sharp as a tack, etc., Democrats quickly turn on Biden and want him gone: The media won't accept responsibility for propping up old Joe but they knifed him the minute he lost this debate. With friends like these, who needs enemies? Still, SMorning Joe didn't do Biden a favor by lying about his mental capacity. He set Biden up for failure. Scarborough might've thought he was doing Biden a favor but that isn't the end result. The reality is that the legacy media are as much at fault as anyone. Had they told the truth last fall, when Biden's decline was already obvious to those who weren't blind or comatose, they could've pushed him out and had a competitive primary. They would've still gotten beat by Trump but their presidential nominee would've been better than Kamala. Still, I must thank her for picking Tim Walz for her running mate. As a Minnesota Republican, I'm grateful for him getting exposed as a goofball on a national stage. But I digress.
Here's to the opening of Joe's presidential bookmobile.
