Donald Trump picks Kash Patel to replace Christopher Wray at FBI

Saturday night, President-Elect Donald Trump picked Kash Patel to replace FBI Director Christopher Wray. Wray still has time to serve as Director but it's apparent that Trump plans on firing Wray the minute he's been inaugurated.

The announcement came via Trump's tweet on Truth Social. In the tweet, Trump said "I am proud to announce that Kashyap ‘Kash’ Patel will serve as the next Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Kash is a brilliant lawyer, investigator, and ‘America First’ fighter who has spent his career exposing corruption, defending Justice, and protecting the American People. He played a pivotal role in uncovering the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, standing as an advocate for truth, accountability, and the Constitution. Kash did an incredible job during my First Term, where he served as Chief of Staff at the Department of Defense, Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council. Kash has also tried over 60 jury trials."

Predictably, all the wrong people are complaining about Patel's nomination. Andrew McCabe is one of the people complaining the loudest. Check it out:

If McCabe is complaining, then Kash is the right man for the job. Actually, I say that not only because McCabe is complaining, though that's part of it. Look at the lengthy list of positions he's held recently. He's overqualified and then some:

Then there's this:
Trump also highlighted Patel’s service during his first administration, including Patel’s time as chief of staff of the Department of Defense and senior director for counterterrorism at the National Security Council.
Check out Patel's statement via Twitter/X: While there's little doubt that Julie Banderas and Dr. Marc Siegel are mildly partisan, that isn't who they are. That they both spoke glowingly of Patel, they did so frorm a personal, not political, perspective. The fact that Patele has tried more than 60 trials signals that he's a highly qualified prosecutor. Patel spoke out against the Russia! Russia! Russia! Hoax.

Patel isn't one of the guys at the FBI. He isn't looking for approval. He isn't looking for anything except to change the culture of the managerial floor at the FBI Building. Further, he's looking to weed out the managerial class and hire field agents. Personally, I hope he moves those agents across the country. The FBI needs reforming and putting all of the bad eggs in a tiny DC basket doesn't sound like a smart idea. Break them up. Spread them across the country. Don't look back.
