J.D. Vance exposes Minnesota's abortion-at-all-costs industry
Rep. Harry Niska knows that Gov. Walz isn't telling the truth. Harry tweeted "In fact, @ShannonBream is 100% correct and @Tim_Walz is lying again. The law he signed was far more radical than just restoring Roe v Wade. I know because I tried to help them to “codify Roe” and they rejected my amendment." The language that was in play prior to 2023 said "A born alive infant as a result of an abortion shall be fully recognized as a human person, and accorded immediate protection under the law. All reasonable measures consistent with good medical practice, including the compilation of appropriate medical records, shall be taken by the responsible medical personnel to preserve the life and health of the born-alive infant." This is what the new law says:
An infant that is born alive shall be fully recognized as a human person and accorded immediate protection under the law. All reasonable measures consistent with good medical practice, including the compilation of appropriate medical records, shall be taken by the responsible medical personnel to care for the infant who is born alive. The earlier version of the law is quite explicit. It said that the medical personnel shall ... preserve the life and health of the born-alive infant. The newly-signed bill says that medical personnel shall care forthe infant who is born alive. The language changes to the law are found 7:10 into this video of Shannon Bream's interview with Gov. Walz: This is Rep. Harry Niska's tweet on amending the "Codify Roe" bil:
Let's be honest about the DFL's push for unlimited abortion. First, Gov. Walz's explanation is utterly dishonest. Rep. Harry Niska's tweet proves that beyond all doubt. If the DFL just wanted to "restore Roe," they could've adopted Rep. Niska's amendment. The DFL rejected Rep. Niska's amendment on a straight party-line vote.In fact, @ShannonBream is 100% correct and @Tim_Walz is lying again. The law he signed was far more radical than just restoring Roe v Wade.

I know because I tried to help them to “codify Roe” and they rejected my amendment.

Next, the DFL's abortion-on-demand wing wouldn't have tolerated the betrayal. Anyone voting against abortion-on-demand legislation would've gotten primaried. These days, the DFL runs a 'purity test' against their members. When Sen. Jeffrey Hayden isn't liberal enough, things are getting bad.
Finally, the DFL is running an ad featuring "Dr. Tessmer-Tuck." In the ad, Dr. Tesmer-Tuck says "There's no doubt in my mind that if Minnesota Republicans win this election, they will try to ban abortion. Minnesota Republicans want to take away your right to make your own medical decisions. Minnesota Democrats are working to protect that right."
What a pile of BS. This doctor is a full-time propagandist. The organization that pays her to make those ads (abetterlegislature.org) has been around in varying names since 2010. They specialize in propaganda. The next time they put out an ad that passes the Truth Test, it'll be the first time they will have passed a fact-check.
