Teamsters rank-and-file support Donald Trump, Teamsters Union fails to endorse

In a major defeat to Vice President Harris's campaign, the Teamsters refused to endorse a presidential candidate for the 2024 election. In their official statement to the brethren, "Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien said "For the past year, the Teamsters Union has pledged to conduct the most inclusive, democratic, and transparent Presidential endorsement process in the history of our 121-year-old organization—and today we are delivering on that promise to our members. Our members are the union, and their voices and opinions must be at the forefront of everything the Teamsters do. Our final decision around a possible Presidential endorsement will not be made lightly, but you can be sure it will be driven directly by our diverse membership."

Let's note that O'Brien isn't being entirely truthful. Let's be truthful:

Following the Republican National Convention and Biden’s campaign exit, the Teamsters commissioned a national electronic poll of its 1.3 million members, overseen by an independent third party. During a voting window from July 24-Sept. 15, rank-and-file Teamsters voted 59.6 percent for the union to endorse Trump, compared to 34 percent for Harris.

In the past week, following the Democratic National Convention and recent Presidential debate, the Teamsters commissioned independent polling firm Lake Research Partners to conduct the union’s final national survey. In the poll ending Sept. 15, Teamsters selected Trump by 58 percent for endorsement over 31 percent for Harris.

That's gotta sting:

Kamala Harris is doing her best to spin this humiliating defeat by mentioning that she's she's won the support of some local Teamsters unions. That's nice but those endorsements don't bring with them the manpower that a national endorsement brings. That's where the non-endorsement weighs heaviest. The next question is whether Harris will make the right decisions moving forward. There's little doubt that she counted on the Teamsters' endorsement. That's now gone but the hole still remains.

Blistering Barack's butt (bigtime)

This past weekend, Barack Obama tried spreading the blame around for Hamas's murderous rampage of Oct. 7. This blistering op-ed hints that Mr. Obama isn't the effective communicator that he once was. Obama initially insisted that "nobody's hands are clean" from the Oct. 7 Massacre. Liel Leibovitz, the Editor at large of Tablet Magazine wrote this op-ed questioning Obama's intellectual honesty. After Obama said that nobody's hands are clean, Mr. Liebovitz wrote wrote "Nah, man. Not all of us are complicit. It's just you. It's you, because you're the one who gave that stentorian speech about red lines in Syria and then sat by and did nothing as those red lines were crossed and Assad continued to slaughter his own people, allowing the Iranians and the Russians to creep in and fill the vacuum left by your devastating lack of leadership." Why is Joe Biden letting Hamas off the hook?

It isn't disputable whether Joe Biden's administration is letting Hamas off the hook. That issue was settled months ago, when a spineless Joe Biden caved to activists interested in saving Hamas and thwarting the Israelis' attempt to defend themselves.
