Ari Fleischer on Joe Biden's interview: the worst of all worlds

Friday night, Joe Biden sat down for an interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos. According to Ari Fleischer, "the outcome was the worst of all possible outcomes." Fleischer tweeted "This interview was the worst of all worlds for the Ds. Biden committed no real flubs. He didn’t do anything to force himself out of the race. But he appears old, weak, tentative and he’s losing to Trump. So Biden will dig in and stay. The Ds are stuck."

I'll disagree with Ari only in that Biden's stubbornness was annoying. When questioned by Stephanopoulos about trailing Trump, Biden said that he trailed Trump the entire way in 2020 but he still won despite the pundits' predictions. The problem is that he didn't trail in most national polls that year. If he led most of the way, there wouldn't have been any pundits predicting his defeat. BIG OOPS!

The other thing that stood out was how often Biden insisted that Trump was a liar. One time, Biden intimated that he couldn't be losing to such a liar. Another time, Biden hinted that Trump insisted that he'd brought inflation down. That didn't happen. Inflation stayed low during the Trump administration. Inflation jumped during the Biden administration, jumping from 1.4% the day Biden was inaugurated to 9.1% for the June 2022 report. This won't help calm Democrats' nerves:

Other senators have concerns but the dam hasn't broken. They aren't convinced that a single interview will convince them of his viability.

Those of us who watched the June 27th Presidential Debate know that we didn't see a man suffering from a cold. We didn't see a man suffering from jet lag, either. The Democrat on stage that night is suffering from some form of Alzheimer's or dementia. To pretend to have seen otherwise is to ignore President Reagan's wise adage. President Reagan's wise advice was "Don't be afraid to see what you saw." Dutch was never wiser.

Blistering Barack's butt (bigtime)

This past weekend, Barack Obama tried spreading the blame around for Hamas's murderous rampage of Oct. 7. This blistering op-ed hints that Mr. Obama isn't the effective communicator that he once was. Obama initially insisted that "nobody's hands are clean" from the Oct. 7 Massacre. Liel Leibovitz, the Editor at large of Tablet Magazine wrote this op-ed questioning Obama's intellectual honesty. After Obama said that nobody's hands are clean, Mr. Liebovitz wrote wrote "Nah, man. Not all of us are complicit. It's just you. It's you, because you're the one who gave that stentorian speech about red lines in Syria and then sat by and did nothing as those red lines were crossed and Assad continued to slaughter his own people, allowing the Iranians and the Russians to creep in and fill the vacuum left by your devastating lack of leadership." Why is Joe Biden letting Hamas off the hook?

It isn't disputable whether Joe Biden's administration is letting Hamas off the hook. That issue was settled months ago, when a spineless Joe Biden caved to activists interested in saving Hamas and thwarting the Israelis' attempt to defend themselves. Gerard Baker's op-ed highlights what's at stake for the U.S. if the terrorists are permitted to survive.
