Is the IRS retaliating against Gary Shapley, Joseph Ziegler, IRS whistleblowers?

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.), Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La., Jim Jordan, Jamie Comer and Jason Smith, the chairmen of the House Judiciary Committee, House Oversight Committee and House Ways and Means Committee, respectively, have started an investigation into the Office of Special Counsel. These chairmen, along with Speaker Johnson and Majority Leader Scalise, have issued this joint letter asking for information on "whether the U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC) has contributed to the retaliation against IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler."

Specifically, "the House Republican leaders are seeking a briefing to determine whether there has been improper influence in the IRS whistleblowers’ claims pending before OSC." These GOP leaders didn't stop there. They continued their letter, saying "IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler have been wholly consistent in their testimony about misconduct and politicization in the Department of Justice’s criminal investigation of Hunter Biden. They did exactly what an honorable government employee should do: when they witnessed wrongdoing, they reported it responsibly and made legally protected disclosures." Check this out:

This isn't small potatoes. I suspect that this is part of Hunter Biden's upcoming income tax trial in L.A. Biden was just convicted of 3 felonies involving the illegal purchase of a handgun. This time, they're investigating whether this alleged income tax fraud by Hunter Biden financially benefitted Joe Biden, Jim Biden or anyone in the Biden family.

David Weiss, the special counsel appointed to prosecute Hunter Biden, has let the statute of limitations expire on the 2014 and 2015 tax charges. That isn't alleged. That's verified fact. Rep. Harriet Hageman, (R-WY), grilled Merrick Garland on why Weiss let those charges lapse and why he couldn't comment on those charges:

FYI- Rep. Hageman is a major step forward from Wyoming's last representative, which was Liz Cheney. Let's be clear about this. Merrick Garland is as slippery as Liz Cheney. I don't trust either of them. If the statute of limitations has expired, how can they be part of an ongoing investigation? That sounds like just another of Garland's slippery replies. Simply put, the DOJ and IRS both need to be sanitized operationally. They're both as filthy as a pig sty.

It isn't coincidental that Shapley and Ziegler figure to be prominent witnesses in Hunter Biden's income tax trial. What better way to smear a witness than by having your dad's (Joe Biden's) IRS and DOJ smear them for you? Do I know this with certainty? No. Would I put it past past Joe Biden? Not a chance. It's definitely something I'd investigate..
