Joe Biden's school re-opening rewrite
In 1987, Time reported "A few days before they began, video surfaced that spliced together footage of U.K. Labour Party leader Neil Kinnock giving a speech and Biden clearly quoting Kinnock at the Iowa State Fair without attribution. More examples of misattribution came to light, and the plagiarism scandal became more memorable than his leadership during the Bork confirmation hearing. His mouth — or rather, what he failed to say — got him in trouble again."
Some lefty articles insist that this was simply an instance that Biden didn't make the proper attributions. Back in the time when the press was interested in the truth, that spin got shot down fairly quickly. Paul Tully, a senior staffer for Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis, gave David Yepsen copies of Neil Kinnock's speech and Biden's speech. The rest is history.
The problem for Biden in 1987 was that there was more:
Once textual fidelity became an issue, reporters found earlier cases in which Biden had failed to give proper citation to Humphrey and Robert Kennedy. By themselves these transgressions would not have been worth noting. That led to more scrutiny:
During his first months at Syracuse University Law School, in 1965, Biden failed a course because he wrote a paper that used five pages from a published law-review article without quotation marks or a proper footnote. Since Biden was allowed to make up the course, the revelation was front-page news only because it kept the copycat contretemps alive. Now that we've put that history front-and-center, let's dig into this rewrite of history:
"When President Biden took office, less than half of K-12 students were going to school in person," the White House said. "Today, thanks to the President’s swift actions and historic investments, every school in America is open safely for in-person instruction."Biden just omitted this detail:
The Administration omits that its own Centers for Disease Control and Prevention took dictation from union chief Randi Weingarten for its reopening guidelines. Those guidelines gave unions in urban school districts like Chicago cover to delay the return to full in-person learning.Follow the science morphed into 'do whatever Randi tells you to do.'Schools would have opened much sooner had Mr. Biden used his bully pulpit and leveraged federal money. The Administration could have conditioned the nearly $200 billion in Covid funds that Congress appropriated for schools on their reopening. Instead, schools were showered with more money than they could usefully spend.
Watch this video, then ask yourself if Joe Biden is an honest man or whether he's a serial plagiarist:
Let there be no doubt that Joe Biden is a serial liar. Let there be little doubt that that's who he's been for decades. These aren't gaffes. They're outright lies.To quote President Reagan from his final speech from the Oval Office on Jan. 11, 1989, "Don't be afraid to see what you saw."
