Jerry Nadler's Twilight Zone Judiciary Committee hearing strategy
Jim Jordan doesn't have to come up with a bizarre strategy like Nadler does. Jordan's Republican panelists just have to ask probing questions of today's witnesses. Scheduled to testify today are "a bodega worker, the mother of a homicide victim, and a woman whose boyfriend was killed." Jennifer Harrison, a victims-rights advocate who has been called by Republicans to testify at the Monday hearing, said "I dare Jerry Nadler to ask me or [crime victims] to our faces … and tell us why the lives that are being destroyed here in New York City don’t matter [just] because it’s happening elsewhere."
Personally, I can't wait to get Nadler's reaction to Jose Alba, the 61-year-old bodega owner who got charged with second-degree murder for defending himself against Austin Simon, a 37-year-old released criminal who tried attacking Alba. The video speaks for itself:
How will NadlerCity crime statistics belie Nadler’s rosy assessment. Overall violent crime surged in Manhattan South by 34% and Manhattan North by 14.5% in 2022, Bragg’s first year in office, compared to 2021.So much for Nadler's strategy. At this point, Nadler is acting more like a defense attorney who's defending a guilty person while Chairman Jordan's team has mountains of forensic evidence against the defendant.
