Joe Biden's jobs report flop

The Democrats lobbied hard for excessive unemployment when pushing through a $2,000,000,000,000 'COVID relief package'. Apparently, that policy came back to bite Democrats in the April jobs report. The April jobs report showed only 266,000 jobs getting created. 'Experts' were expecting almost 1,000,000 jobs to be created last month. "The unemployment rate rose to 6.1%, the Labor Department said. Dow Jones estimates had been for 1 million new jobs and an unemployment rate of 5.8%." That wasn't the only bad jobs news, either. "March’s originally estimated total of 916,000 was revised down to 770,000, though February saw an upward revision to 536,000 from 468,000." Ed Morrissey nails it with this explanation:
Let’s tackle the government-created perverse incentives first. The federal program on pandemic-related unemployment made sense at the beginning when governments destroyed the jobs by forcing businesses to close en masse. Even then, though, Republicans warned that the $600/week benefit would incentivize workers to stay unemployed even when businesses reopened. Even reducing it to $300/week created situations where workers got more money for staying home than they did for going back to work. It’s safe to say that this was intentional on the part of some Democrats. They wanted to create a market incentive for businesses to offer higher wages, but the problem is that consumers have less money to spend and these employers can’t afford to hike prices. Instead, they’re either cutting back on hours and slots while offering higher wages to fewer people, or they’re opting for automation instead. The refusal to order school reopenings is a disincentive that doesn’t even have a market-manipulation advantage. It’s strictly power politics over both science and public service. This disincentive is entirely regressive as well, impacting women and poorer families hardest, and the workforce numbers from BLS and the Department of Labor demonstrate it.
Democrats don't have a problem with getting people hooked on government handouts. That, they think, will create a bigger base for the next election. Democrats are reading this entirely wrong. People, especially women, want to return to work. They can't afford to pass up the extra $$$ from the feds, though.

Proof that Tim Walz doesn't care about fraud or other crime

Anyone that thinks that Tim Walz, Minnesota's DFL governor, doesn't care about preventing crime or fraud hasn't read this article . Alpha News is reporting that "The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) has confirmed that Dylan Adams, the fiscal policy analyst caught on video vandalizing Teslas in Minneapolis, is still employed by the state — meaning Minnesota taxpayers are footing the bill for his salary. In response to Alpha News inquiries, a DHS spokesperson said: "Dylan Adams is a current employee." Apparently, the Walz administration doesn't care that it's employing a vandal in its Department of Human Services. As for whether Adams "has faced consequences for racking up more than $21,000 in damage during work hours , the agency offered little transparency.
