Rebuilding the GOP requires great salesmanship
After Tuesday night's thorough thumping, the GOP is faced with the daunting task of rebuilding the product. I'm not takling about a rebranding. Rather, I'm talking about who we're putting forth as our salespeople. That starts at the top. It starts with President Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance but it includes our down-ticket caandidates, too. President Trump is tireless but he's also prone to making comments that stunt the progress he frequently makes. Mark Levin's lengthy tweet should serve as a wakeup call to conservatives. He wrote "The mid-terms were not lost over a single issue. And anybody with a functioning brain knows that. The party not in the White House traditionally wins, some of our candidates were weak, and the messaging was confusing. Despite a robust economy, affordability remained an issue -- health care, housing, energy, etc. - and prolonging the defeat of the Iranian terrorist regime, all contributed to the results, as did the Woke Reich."
Voters told us that 2 issues rose above all others -- high gas prices and President getting hoodwinked by Vance into signing the MOU. Further, fighting against the corrupt Propaganda Media will require people who a) know how to fight the media and b) are good at policy. As for what happened this year? The cycle got them. Losing John Cornyn in a stupid primary didn't help but Talarico winning big shows that this was just a lost year.
Sharri is right. Iran was never going to agree to deal. Further, we should have gone in harder. In the 1980s a reporter asked President Reagan what his strategy for the Soviets was. President Reagan replied "Simple. We win. They lose." By comparison, if asked what his strategy towards Iran is, President Trump likely would say 'mske a splashy air show, then negotiate.'Let''s follow Michele Tafoya's model:
Republicans need more happy warriors like Michele. Michele's right. We'll be fine but Tuesday night was a difficullt night. We'll figure it out like we always do, then we'll start kicking ass and taking names. The fate of the nation depends on that.Michele Tafoya Concedes Minnesota’s U.S. Senate Race to Peggy Flanagan #... https://t.co/VZYaq0YHjo via @YouTube
