Today's new DFL Chanting Point

The DFL is nothing if not predictable and not that bright. After Monday morning's lawful execution of a search warrant of Ilhan Omar's DC home, Keith Ellison published this tweet. In the heart of the tweet, Ellison, Minnesota's DFL AG, wrote "This morning's raid on the home of Ilhan Omar, a sitting member of Congress, has all the hallmarks of Donald Trump weaponizing the federal government against a political rival. Trump’s action marks a dangerous escalation of his authoritarian and fundamentally un-American behavior. It’s also an extension of his racist attacks on Somali Americans and yet another attempt to throw chaos into our elections."

That's one of the most reckless statements issued by an AG. In the past 3 years, there have been 3 assassinaton attempts on President Trump. Is AG Ellison hinting that a 4th attempt is in order? I hope not.

Then there's Ilhan Omar's copycat tweet, which said "I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation."

First, Ilhan said that she's ok. Next, Ilhan plays the 'I'm a victim card.' What's next? Playing the heroic victim card? Playing the victimized hero card?

Here's the rest of AG Ellison's tweet:

Trump’s action marks a dangerous escalation of his authoritarian and fundamentally un-American behavior. It’s also an extension of his racist attacks on Somali Americans and yet another attempt to throw chaos into our elections.
Why didn't AG Ellison or Rep. Omar include this from their tweets?
Homeland Security Investigations, or HSI, the department's criminal investigative arm, is leading the investigation, with the Department of Justice assisting.

Investigators are examining potential allegations of false statements and immigration fraud, according to sources familiar with the investigation.

AG Ellison didn't mention that a judge signed off on the warrant or that the judge couldn't approve the warrant if it didn't meet the standards for meeting probable cause. I'm supposed to believe that a judge would sign a warrnnt that might get him disbarred? David Spunt's reporting from the scene is informative:

The DFL's dishonesty is breathtaking at times. AG Ellison's apparent audience are people that don't understand Article III of the Constitution. That's a frightening thought.
