Education Minnesota opposes competition

It isn't surprising that Education Minnesota, Minnesota's biggest teachers union, vehemently opposes competition in education. Further, it isn't surprising to learn that the DFL, the political party that EdMinn owns, hates school choice. According to this Center Square report, "Minnesota ranked 33rd nationally in a new report from the Heritage Foundation on 'education freedom.' The state’s ranking on education choice brought its score down significantly, coming in at 44th." That's just part of the story.

Another part of this story came from "Jonathan Butcher, the Heritage Foundation’s acting director at its Center for Education Policy." He told "The Center Square" that 'Minnesota ranks 33rd overall with little to offer parents in school choice apart from charter schools and homeschooling. These are important options, for sure, but more than half of all U.S. states have some form of private school scholarship opportunity, as well. This is why Minnesota ranks 44th, near the bottom, on school choice.'"

EdMinn opposes school choice, which is why the DFL oppose school choice. EdMinn and the DFL march in lockstep against competition. The DFL refused to protect students who didn't attend public schools. If students attended private or parochial schools, Tim Walz cut safety funding for those schools.

When he first ran for governor, his campaign slogan was "One Minnesota." As usual, Gov. Walz couldn't tell the truth if his life depended on it. This is what the DFL is about:

In the first minute of this propaganda video, Tim Walz spewed propagandist line after propagandist line. I used to say that the DFL was loosely tethered to the truth. They aren't tethered to the truth anymore.
For the fifth year in a row, Florida topped the rankings.

"The state’s expansive – and inclusive – school choice options, along with strong civics content and curriculum transparency policies keep this state in the lead," Butcher said. Florida was followed by Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, and Iowa in the top five.

"Arizona ranks first in teacher freedom for its policies that empower professionals to enter the teacher workforce," Butcher said. "Louisiana ranks first in civic education having updated its social studies standards several years ago with rigorous content."

Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, Rhode Island and Maine ranked at the bottom, scoring consistently low across all five categories.

It's time for a parent-student uprising. Education Minnesota cares about itself. Caring about students isn't a top-10 priority for EdMinn.

Kendall Quall's big mistake

Image
A loyal reader of this blog just sent me a screenshot touting Kendall Qualls. The screenshot is short on truth. What it lacks in truth, it makes up for in fiction. Here's Kendall's fiction: Kendall Qualls should be ashamed for spewing this BS. First, Qualls knows better than this. Jeff Johnson and Lisa Demuth have both confirmed that they're abiding by the Convention's endorsement. This appears to be Qualls attempting to be something he isn't. While I'm not disputing whether Mr. Qualls will abide by the endorsement, I'm calling BS that he's THE ONLY GOP CANDIDATE who will abide by the endorsement. This brings into question whether Mr. Qualls is willing to say anything to win. We don't need another candidate who'll put together fiction to win. We've had too many candidates who fit that description throughout the years. Next, we need people who fit J.C. Watts' description of character. Watts said that "the definition of character is d...

Joe Biden vs. U.S. Border Patrol Council, Greg Abbott and the Texas National Guard

Image
Joe Biden already was dealing with a catastrophe when it comes to the Tex-Mex border. This afternoon, that mess turned into a catastrophe. That's because the National Border Patrol Council, aka the NBPC, tweeted their support for the "TX NG", aka the Texas National Guard. In their tweet, the NBPC said "Rank-and file BP agents are not going to start arresting TX NG members for following their LAWFUL orders. That's fake news. TX NG and rank-and-file BP agents work together and respect each other's jobs. Period. If TX NG members have LAWFUL orders, then they have to carry out those orders." The tweet continues, saying "TX NG members realize that rank-and-file BP agents have their orders as well. Lawful orders, no matter how unpopular or distasteful amongst rank-and-file agents, must be followed. Unlawful orders (as determined by competent legal counsel and not what some outhouse lawyer behind a keyboard says) will not be followed." Then the NBPC ...
