Sherrod Brown vs. Jon Husted

There was a falling-out period between President Trump and Elon Musk, reportedly the world's first trillionaire. Based on this Ed Morrissey article for HotAir.com, that feud appears to be short-lived. Ed notes that "This also makes sense, though, because Democrats in all four states are trying to pretend moderation with radical/progressive candidates. That includes Ohio, where the ad from Musk's super PAC is already running against Sherrod Brown's comeback bid." This is the ad that Musk's super PAC is running against Sherrod Brown: The first set of ads are in GOP-held Senate seats. The first rule is to lock down your most vulnerable seats, then try to flip the other side's seats to your side.

The bad news for the Democrats is that the GOP is loaded with cash. Democrats will have a limited ability to go after GOP seats. Conversely, the GOP super PACs will have almost limitless opportunities to flip blue seats. This puts Democrats in a difficult position. Axios is reporting:

America PAC's focus on trans issues comes as Republicans face a brutal midterm environment. Voters across party lines are angry about the Iran war and stubbornly high prices that have come with it. ... On its face, the strategy is at odds with what voters say they want candidates to talk about. Concerns about the economy dominate; trans and LGBT issues barely register.
This is a smart strategy despite what Axios says. People ARE upset with the fighting in Iran. People aren't happy with high prices, either. Still, people have dealt with them for a year+. These issues are annoying but they aren't animating. They don't cause a visceral reaction.

Boys playing in girls' sports triggers a visceral, lasting reaction. Further, trans athletes in girls' sports is a 90%-10% issue that draws a visceral reaction. Men instinctually want to protect their daughters. Women instinctually understand that boys playing in girl sports is highly unfair. This cuts across all societal lines. Finally, let's finish with some commentary from Ed:

First off, this overlooks some critical context. Candidates can address the economy; super-PACs and other outside groups can work on other issues. But even if these issues do not rank high in issue polls, they may still matter. The WNBA's crisis over biological identity has made headlines for weeks now, thanks to an ESPN reporter who stirred the pot with Sophie Cunningham and touched off a massive paroxysm of grievance politics on the Left. The amplitude of media coverage this summer over Cunningham and her position on biological identity belies the idea that this will be some sort of esoteric issue to the electorate.
This isn't a sleeper issue in Minnesota. Still, the DFL is locked into their position because the DFL's activists demand it. That's how a sleeper issue issue turns into a major issue. This is Sherrod Brown doing his best to SOUND moderate:

Proof that Tim Walz doesn't care about fraud or other crime

Anyone that thinks that Tim Walz, Minnesota's DFL governor, doesn't care about preventing crime or fraud hasn't read this article . Alpha News is reporting that "The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) has confirmed that Dylan Adams, the fiscal policy analyst caught on video vandalizing Teslas in Minneapolis, is still employed by the state — meaning Minnesota taxpayers are footing the bill for his salary. In response to Alpha News inquiries, a DHS spokesperson said: "Dylan Adams is a current employee." Apparently, the Walz administration doesn't care that it's employing a vandal in its Department of Human Services. As for whether Adams "has faced consequences for racking up more than $21,000 in damage during work hours , the agency offered little transparency.
