Lisa Demuth's plan for education excellence

Education Minnesota just got a new reason to worry about their monopoly on education in Minnesota. Lisa Demuth just unveiled her plan for returning Minnesota to delivering education excellence. It's titled "Lisa Demuth’s Education Comeback Plan for Minnesota." This isn't the slop that Sen. Klobuchar is offering. Instead, it's a plan that she didn't ask Education Minnesota's permission to propose. It's a plan that shouts 'Eliminate EdMinn's failed status quo. Let's install something new that works.' This isn't built on Sen. Klobuchar's tired mantra of 'We just need a little more of the taxpayers' money.' Let's examine what's in the Demuth-Wilson plan for educational excellence.

The first priority is to return Minnesota to the Top 10 in the nation:

More than half of students across Minnesota’s public schools are still not meeting grade-level standards in math and reading, according to the latest standardized test scores released by the state’s Department of Education.

Over the last five years, Minnesota has fallen from #7 in overall education rankings to #21, according to the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s "2026 State-to-State Comparison of Education."

These measurements are unacceptable. As Governor, Lisa Demuth will return Minnesota to one of the best places for educational outcomes in the nation.

A Gov. Demuth won't be like a Gov. Tim Walz or a President Joe Biden. A Gov. Lisa Demuth won't be a wholly-owned subsidiary of the teachers' unions. If teachers do a great job,they should be well-compensated.
Safety for All Students in Every School

Under the Demuth-Wilson administration, schools and classrooms will be safe from disruptions and violence. We’ll achieve this by ensuring school safety funding for all students. This funding follows the student like books and buses. If we don’t put school safety first, nothing else matters.

As Governor, Lisa will ensure school safety funding to protect Minnesota students is expanded to every classroom — not just public schools.

Other measures Lisa will take to improve safety in our classrooms include:

  • School security grants.
  • Flexibility for school funding streams to be used for safety improvements
  • School Resource Officers are available to every school.
  • Mandatory minimum prison sentences for repeat gun criminals and for straw purchasers who enable violent crime.
There's no reason to sugarcoat this. EdMinn has failed the students. Forever-increasing property taxes are driven by ever-increasing mandates must stop immediately. It's time for a pro-parent, pro-student change. The Demuth-Wilson Education Comeback Plan press conference:

Proof that Tim Walz doesn't care about fraud or other crime

Anyone that thinks that Tim Walz, Minnesota's DFL governor, doesn't care about preventing crime or fraud hasn't read this article . Alpha News is reporting that "The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) has confirmed that Dylan Adams, the fiscal policy analyst caught on video vandalizing Teslas in Minneapolis, is still employed by the state — meaning Minnesota taxpayers are footing the bill for his salary. In response to Alpha News inquiries, a DHS spokesperson said: "Dylan Adams is a current employee." Apparently, the Walz administration doesn't care that it's employing a vandal in its Department of Human Services. As for whether Adams "has faced consequences for racking up more than $21,000 in damage during work hours , the agency offered little transparency.
