Exposing the real story about election fraud

During Mark Ritchie's time in office at Minnesota's Secretary of State, I coined the phrase "It's impossible to find what you refuse to look for." According to this Daily Signal article, that saying is apparently as true of the Merrick Garland-Joe Biden DOJ. According to the article, "In less than two years, federal prosecutors in the Trump administration charged about four times as many noncitizens with election fraud crimes as the Biden Justice Department in the entirety of the four-year term."

To put this in perspective, "During the four years of the Biden administration under Attorney General Merrick Garland, the Justice Department brought charges against 13 noncitizens for illegal voting-related offenses. Of those, nine defendants were found guilty, including two whose voter fraud charges were dismissed as part of plea agreements."

In other words, the Biden-Garland DOJ didn't vigorously prosecute this type of fraud. That fits with the Biden administration's soft-on-enforcement habits. This is a perfect example:

The Biden administration wasn't trustworthy. Further, they didn't believe in enforcing laws. That's quite categorical. When Sen. Schumer physically threatened Justice Gorsuch and Justice Kavanaugh, the administration did nothing. Later, when a whacko traveled to Maryland, he was arrested only after turning himself in. When Justice Amy Coney Barrett's children were doxxed, it was essentially brushed off. If you want to make the argument that Sen. Schumer's behavior is protected by the Speech and Debate Clause, I don't think that threatening Supreme Court justices is what Madison had in mind when that Clause was ratified as part of the Constitution. This is disgusting:

If annualized over four years, Trump’s second-term Justice Department has brought almost 10 times as many charges as the Biden Justice Department. That means, at the current pace, it amounts to about 31 defendants per year under Trump, compared with 3.25 per year under Biden.

This is disturbing:

“These are illegal votes that are cast and counted, and once they’re counted, they can’t be uncounted," Cleta Mitchell, the co-founder of the Only Citizens Vote Coalition, told the Daily Signal.

"First the Left says this never happens, noncitizens never vote. Then you say, ‘Look at this,'" Mitchell added. "Then they come back to say, well, it’s not widespread. How many illegal votes are OK with you? We want to make sure there are no illegal votes cast."

To demonstrate the impact a single vote—or a single illegal vote—could have on an election, the Public Interest Legal Foundation established a database showing 1,376 tied elections and 531 contests decided by a single vote since 1982.

Whether election fraud is widespread isn't important. I've argued since 2008 that what's important is whether the fraud changed the outcome of a race. In 2008, Al Franken allegedly cheated. He won his race over Norm Coleman by 300+ votes in a race where 2,900,000+ vote were cast. That isn't statistically widespread but it meant the difference between keeping health care as we knew it vs. getting Obamacare stuffed down our throats. In that instance, 300+ votes changed thousands of people's lives.
