Minnesota Farm Bureau announces Senate, Congressional endorsements

The Minnesota Farm Bureau's endorsements often go to the candidates that eventually win a seat in DC on the House or Senate Agriculture committees. According to this Alpha News article, the MFB has endorsed Michele Tafoya for U.S. Senate and Eric Pratt for Congress. It reports "Minnesota’s importance to the national agricultural industry is recognized in Congress with Klobuchar serving as the ranking member of the Senate Agriculture Committee and DFL Rep. Angie Craig serving as the ranking member of the House Agriculture Committee." This year, Angie Craig announced her run for the U.S. Senate. Eric Pratt hopes to replace her as the CD-2 congressman.

Deeeper into the article, Alpha News reports "Running to replace Craig are Republican state Sen. Eric Pratt and former DFL state Sen. Matt Little. While MFBF PAC opted to endorse Craig, a Democrat, in 2024, the group has switched parties this year and endorsed Pratt in his bid for the Second District."

This is a significant switch. Further, it's difficult to picture Craig or Klobuchar as ranking member of the Agriculture committees.

Eric Pratt issued this statement:
"I’m incredibly grateful to the Minnesota Farm Bureau PAC and its members for their confidence in me. Agriculture is not just an industry in Minnesota. It supports families, small businesses, communities, and an entire way of life."
These endorsements came from the MFB's PACs, which means they'll get involved financially. While these endorsements aren't determinative of the outcome, they are quite helpful.

Anyone that thinks that Tim Walz, Minnesota's DFL governor, doesn't care about preventing crime or fraud hasn't read this article . Alpha News is reporting that "The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) has confirmed that Dylan Adams, the fiscal policy analyst caught on video vandalizing Teslas in Minneapolis, is still employed by the state — meaning Minnesota taxpayers are footing the bill for his salary. In response to Alpha News inquiries, a DHS spokesperson said: "Dylan Adams is a current employee." Apparently, the Walz administration doesn't care that it's employing a vandal in its Department of Human Services. As for whether Adams "has faced consequences for racking up more than $21,000 in damage during work hours , the agency offered little transparency.
