Michele Tafoya earns major law enforcement endorsement

Alpha News reports that "The largest association of law enforcement officers in Minnesota has endorsed Republican Michele Tafoya for U.S. Senate over Democrat Peggy Flanagan." In their letter to Tafoya announcing their endorsement, the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association, aka the MPPOA, wrote "This endorsement reflects our strong confidence in your leadership, character, and steadfast commitment to public safety. The men and women who serve in communities throughout our state deeply appreciate your dedication to ensuring their safety and the safety of the citizens they protect."

This is a significant endorsement because it tells the people of Minnesota that their families will be protected. It tells small businesses, especially retail shops, that crime won't steal their profits. That, in turn, permits the industry to invest in growing the business instead of FORCING THEM to spend money protecting their assets, whether it's buildings, people or equipment. Money that isn't spent on protecting can be spent on growing the business.

The MPPOA endorsement tells society that an important sector of society is stable. The greater the societal stability, the more businesses can afford to risk.

Reacting to MPPOA’s endorsement, Tafoya said "supporting the men and women who put their lives on the line to keep our communities safe with the tools, resources, and respect they need is not optional — it is basic common sense."

"Career politicians have spent years pushing policies that made our streets less safe and left Minnesotans feeling unsafe in their own neighborhoods. It’s time to get back to normal and put adults back in charge who will stand with law enforcement and restore public safety," she added.

Whether it's theft through fraud, the high cost of violent crime and the stability throughout society that build healthy, vibrant communities.
