Lisa Demuth handily defeats Mike Lindell

Looking back with 20-20 hindsight, it's easy to say that the tipping point in the MNGOP gubernatorial race was when Mike Lindell made a huge unforced mistake by puting out his amnesty plan. At this point with the race declared, Demuth leads Lindell by 45,000+ votes, thereby ending Lindell's political career.

This Alpha News article reports "Lisa Demuth, the speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives, won the Republican nomination for governor of Minnesota Tuesday night. Demuth bested MyPillow founder Mike Lindell and retired business executive Kendall Qualls for the nomination." After her primary victory, Speaker Demuth issued a statement which said in part "We began this campaign nine months ago. And the thing I’ve heard over and over from Minnesotans from all walks of life is that people are ready for a fresh start." It's OUR JOB to push the DFL into being responsible again. The DFL of Walter Mondale and Paul Wellstone doesn't exist anymore. Tim Walz is a liar and creepy, too.

Something MUST get said about the polling, too. The last KSTP-SurveyUSA poll told us that Mike Lindell led Lisa Demuth by 6 points. Speaker Demuth won by 11 points. That same poll said that Angie Craig led Peggy Flanagan by 2 point. Craig lost by 20 points. In Wisconsin, Hong was supposed to beat the guy that dropped out, then got back in again, by 10 points. She lost by a point. The week before, Abdul el-Sayed was supposed to win by 11 points. He hung on and won by a point.

Of course, it wouldn't be complete if Mike Lindell didn't question the election results:

It's time Lindell left politics. I don't know what numbers he thinks might be shaky. When Lindell proposed his amnesty plan, it was understood that his support simply cratered. Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt.
Throughout the summer, Lindell maintained a polling lead in the race for the Republican nomination. Additionally, President Donald Trump endorsed Lindell’s campaign in July which further solidified the pillow magnate’s status as the frontrunner for the GOP nomination. However, Lindell released a controversial plan in the final weeks of the primary campaign to give illegal aliens amnesty. Republicans, including Demuth and Qualls, criticized the plan.
That's what cooked Lindell's goose. I don't know Mr. Lindell so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on whether he's a nice guy. What I won't do, though, is say that he's qualified to be governor. He isn't qualified.
