Graham Platner's grave, Ro Khanna's moderate reputation
Platner isn't just battling "a spate of tough news accounts of his past." He's battling "a spate of tough" truths from his past which his accusers have texts for. It's one thing to make accusations. It's another to have the receipts to verify the statements. The most dangerous thing a politician can meet is a constituent bearing accusations that they have the receipts for.
As for Ro Khanna's participation in this rally, Khanna said "Khanna said that Platner has shown redemption. When asked whether Platner should go further and apologize to the women, Khanna agreed. 'I think he should apologize. I believe what he did was wrong, was misogynistic, was toxic or volatile,' he said in a brief interview with NBC News. 'I know he’s ashamed of it and I certainly think it would be appropriate to apologize and say how he now understands why it’s important to stand up to a misogynistic culture.'" Check this out:
That's stunning. Rep. Khanna insists that "Platner has shown redemption" even though he's saying that many of these stories are unsubstantiated. You can't say that you've asked for redemption while denying something didn't happen. That fits together like round pegs and square holes.
