What is Tim Walz hiding?

After reading this Alpha News article, it's painfully apparent that Tim Walz will do anything to prevent the DFL Commissioner of Minnesota's Department of Human Services from testifying before the House Fraud and Oversight Committee. Shireen Ghandi was scheduled to testify tomorrow. It was expected that Acting Commissioner Ghandi tough questioning from Republicans throughout the hearing. This isn't the first time Gov. Walz reshuffled DHS upper management the day before a hearing of the Committee. Like I said, Gov. Walz will do anything to avoid his employees from testifying.

Alpha News quoted House Speaker Lisa Demuth as saying "Recycling the same failed staff will not root out fraud — only wholesale change will. Fraud will continue until the Walz administration takes the problem seriously."

Let's get serious for a minute. For Tim Walz, this is purely performative. The DFL is getting their butts kicked on the fraud issue. This isn't the battlefield the DFL wants to fight on. If this is the primary fight that Minnesota's elections are fought on, the MNGOP will have a big night.

This Clinches Things

House Floor Leader Harry Niska, R-Ramsey, called out Walz’s timing.

"For the second time in under a year, the day before a Walz employee is set to face tough questions over the DHS response to fraud, they’re removed from their position," Niska said. "This is a pathetic attempt to dodge real accountability on fraud, and Minnesotans can see right through it. Keeping the same staff who have overseen the fraud explosion will only allow the fraud to keep growing unchecked."

Gandhi was just nominated by Walz to become the permanent commissioner in February, after more than a year as the interim commissioner.

Nominated to the position in February, then demoted before a confirmation vote? That isn't normal. This isn't normal, either:

Acccording to KARE11's report, the new commissioner won't start until summer after he completes treatment for cancer in Califoria! What is Tim Walz hiding?
