The campaign Minnesota desperately needs
Important Elections, Big Ideas
Important elections require big debates on big ideas. In Minnesota, the biggest issues were Medicaid fraud, License tab fee hikes, property tax hikes, unfunded mandates that caused the property tax hikes and repealing the 2023 DFL Trifecta's $10,000,000,000 tax hike.
Each of these listed items contributed to Minnesotans' standard of living. Minnesota's standard of living dropped compared to the Dakotas and Iowa. Red states' lower taxes and fewer regulations helped those red states improve their standard of living.Let's have our state's politicians, DFL and GOP alike propose substantive fixes to Minnesota's biggest problems. That includes Sen. Klobuchar, aka the Queen of Empty Platitudes. We don't need someone that's all 'sounds good' but that's short on solutions to Minnesota's biggest crises. What will she do to fix Minnesota'sfraud crisis? Specifics are REQUIRED!
IS A MOVEMENT TAKING SHAPE?
I've been keeping track of Crosslake MAyor Jackson Purfeerst's 'Gang of Mayors'. This is just one post that Mayor Purfeerst's gang of mayors is getting attention for. Let's highlight these issues:
"Fraud, unchecked spending, and inconsistent fiscal management in St. Paul have trickled down to our cities—reducing our capacity to plan responsibly, maintain infrastructure, hire and retain employees, and sustain core services without overburdening local taxpayers," the letter itself states.Isn't it interesting that the top 3 items are financial items? How can Gov. Walz insist that Minnesota is one of the top states towards businesses? Businesses, like small-town governments, rely on predictability, profitability and stability. This interview is what's needed: Eventually, fingers will get pointed but not until there's been a fair investigation. With all of the constitutional offices up for election plus all 67 state Senate seats and all 134 state House seats up for election this November, now's the perfect time to demand answers to these questions. Minnesotans have had enough passing-the-buck from their state politicians, especially from DFL politicians."Our residents deserve better than deficits, economic decline, and policies that push families and businesses away. We, as mayors, can only support our cities for so long before the heavy hand of state mandates and financial pressure demands more than our communities can provide," adds the letter, which is addressed to Gov. Tim Walz and state lawmakers.
This is just Part I in a series that will take a look at the various problems needing fixing.
